Alakazam is a good setup sweeper that utilizes its high Speed, outspeeding foes like Cinderace, Iron Treads, and Serperior, high Special Attack, and ablilty Magic Guard negate Life Orb's downsides to quickly threaten opposing Pokemon. Psychic is the perferred STAB move of choice, being able to OHKO Buzzwole and Amoonguss, while Psyshock is an alternative that helps deal with walls like Blissey and Gastrodon. Focus Blast helps deal with Dark-types like Mega Tyranitar, Bisharp, and Hydreigon while also being able to threaten foes like Iron Treads, Excadrill, and Magnezone. Recover gives it more opportunities to set up on targets like defensive Tapu Fini and Slowking, Shadow Ball deals with Mega Latias, Ceruledge, and Mega Sableye, and Encore can force out other setup sweepers like Thundurus, Azumarill, and Iron Moth. This given EV spread allows Alakazam to survive Earthquake from Hippowdon. Entry hazard setters such as Ting-lu, Mega Tyranitar, and Skarmory can be great teammates for Alakazam, as they help it OHKO Mega Venusaur and Enamorus with hazard support. In return, Alakazam can keep hazards up against removal options like Tapu Fini and Thunder Wave Rotom-W. Alakazam's poor Defense can make it appreciate having good physically defensive teammates like Skarmory, Tapu Fini, and Rocky Helmet Tangrowth. Choice Scarf users and fast Pokemon like Mega Aerodactyl, Meowscarada, and Hydreigon can be problematic for Alakazam, as they can prevent it from setting up, so Pokemon that help against these foes like Celesteela, Mega Venusaur, and Clefable make good teammates. Pivot such as Meowscarada, Cinderace, and Sandy Shocks can help Alakazam find setup opportunities against targets like Skarmory; in return, Alakazam can pressure Pokemon such as Mega Venusaur for Sandy Shocks and Meowscarada and Tapu Fini for Cinderace.

Alakazam is a good set up sweeper that utilizes its High Speed outspeeding common foes like Cinderace, Mega Latias, Far too dicey of a mention for my taste because of reliance on Sball + how much +1 Psyshock does, I’d probably go with Iron Treads or some other fast offensive threat like that. and Serperior, High Special Attack, and its ablilty Magic Guard, letting it negate its item's downsides to quickly be able to threaten opposing Pokemon. Psychic is the perferred choice, being able to OHKO Buzzwole and Amoonguss, while Psyshock is an alternative that helps deal with walls like Blissey, Clefable, Most are pdef so wouldn’t use this here. and Gastrodon. Focus Blast helps deal with Dark-types like Mega Tyranitar, Bisharp, and Hydreigon, while also being able to threaten out foes like Iron Treads, Excadrill, and Magnezone. Recover can provide Alakazam with recovery giving it more opportunities to set up, name some key targets that Zam can use this to repeatedly pivot into and use as setup over the game, defensive Fini is a crucial one on some teams but I can think of a few more while Shadow Ball deals with Mega Latias, Ceruledge, and Mega Sableye, and Encore can force out other Set up sweepers like Thundurus, Azumarill, and Iron Moth. This given EV spread allows Alakazam to live Earthquake from Hippowdown, while still being threatening. iirc there’s no need to restate this outside specific benchmarks, unless there’s another reason for why it’s max spe, which there isn’t. Entry hazard setters such as Hippowdown, Mega Tyranitar, and Skarmory can be great teammates for Alakazam, as they help it OHKO Mega Venusaur and Enamorus with hazard support. I’d also add Zam’s ability to help keep hazards up against removal options like Fini and TWave Wash for these Pokemon, especially with Recover Alakazam's poor physical defenses can make it appreciate having good physically defensive teammates like Skarmory, Tapu Fini, and Rocky Helmet Tangrowth. specify set Choice Scarf users and fast Pokemon like Mega Aerodactyl, Meowscarada, and Hydreigon, can be problematic for Alakazam as they can threaten it out not allowing for it to set up, so Pokemon that help against these foes like Celesteela, Mega Venusaur, and Clefable for make good teammates. Give mention to pivotting support as well, those can help Zam find setup against targets like Skarm, briefly mention what targets Zam pressures for these teammates in return.
