Would you look at that, it's time to start the biggest CAP tournament of the year. You'll find the matchups below. Please note that as this is a team tournament, no extensions will be granted. There will be no exceptions.

Once again, since this is a team tournament, no extensions are given; substitutions are used instead of extensions. If any trade occurs this week, neither traded player will be able to participate in a battle the same week. Please complete your games by Sunday, July 10th at 11:59pm GMT-5.

Bo3: Kate vs Dj Breloominati♬- Spitfire mains this abomination and is willing to reach deep in the UR pool to pull out a donkey mon like Rhyperior if he feels like it. Kate may be favored in future weeks but not here!
SS: astralydia vs Piyush25 - Pride month is over, it's the time of the Jai Hinds. Piyush has continued playing the tier called OverUsed while Lydia has been too busy playing AG or some shit idk I don't play tiers that don't give a ribbon. Slight edge.
SS: Fakee vs The Number Man - TNM has been gone for a while so it's high time that Fakee grabs the win he can get; the metagame favors him for sure, just don't let Nalorium build for him!
SS: Fc vs Atha - Fc write CB Weavile you troglodyte.
SM: pannuracotta vs neomon - I have taught my son how to Bao the Jumbo and he has done well recently, even beating neomon in their last encounter! Do I think pannu is a superior player? No, not really, but he's more likely to show up for his game so W given for activity.
SM: anique vs AM - AfterMidnight clicks with passion whereas I am not familiar with anique's SM play, win goes to the former TA RO.
ORAS: avarice vs Micaiah - Dex couldn't afford the Italian stallion who can flex into any gen so he ended up on a team with a dick joke for a name... Avarice didn't win enough in DPPPL so I am not bolding him.
ORAS: DugZa vs Blui - insta-bold for the man who brings Mollux in ORAS

Bo3: Mimikyu Stardust vs Lily - I have no fucking clue who is gonna build old gens on LeChonkers so Lily wins the old gens by default, SS probably goes to Mimikyu.
SS: snaga vs clean - lmao snaga playing any tier in 2022
SS: DetroitLolcat vs zioziotrip - if you haven't seen DLC play OU for smogtour you're missing out, the dude put his entire Michiganussy into his rain teams and he is no stranger to building Astrolotl balances and slowly whittling his opponents so I am a firm believer in him.
SS: RaJ.Shoot vs Baloor - Hot Wheels
SM: velvet vs SHSP - velvet doesn't have it in them to beat the Luger fanboy with scum tactics like others do and SHSP's SM is getting better every tour. Tough matchup.
SM: swordstrike vs LBN - this man brought BrightPowder Infernape in SM, I have to bold him week 1 until people recognise he clicks like his life depends on him.
ORAS: Steam Buns vs BasedWhat? - I want to bold Len but the Only Man from West Australia has been grinding ORAS like crazy (read: playing in 2-man roomtours vs. 6 CAPs) so I will give him the edge while BW reads up on the Mega Cruci nerfs.
ORAS: tier vs Kaede - won some ORAS CAP tour but I don't remember which one, tier is GOATered with the sauce once he picks up a metagame but I've seen him lose to HP Fire Raikou so LMAO

predictions, for each one i get wrong i will add a copy of this image to my signature

jonfilch vs crying: This is an interesting MU between a good player new to CAP afaik and a much more seasoned player of the meta, though crying's record in CL is a bit less than you'd want given the 30K price tag the Whims dropped. Could definitely be the start of something great for either here.
D2TheW vs Rabia: This could be the season D2 finds the success he's capable of, fueled by the vitriol of Irish heritage and whatever awful things spoo is failing to discourage him from using.
Potatochan vs Darek:
Revenge Killer vs Rage.Spam.Quit.: RSQ is very good and has some strong team support, definitely favorable.
Jordy vs JayHeaven: Jordy is probably the best SM CAP player right now, but alas Jay is formidable in any tier so its not a done deal by a long shot.
Clementine vs iKiQ: can't really make a call either way, depends a lot on what kinds of teams either of them bring
spoo vs quziel: I think quziel has the read on spoo here, I won't say with what
gorex vs cbrevan: cbrevan hasn't been around CAP much but this is also ORAS, which is a big homefield advantage. gorex is definitely the champion of "wins anyhow" so it's not something I'm totally sold on but it would feel wrong to say its an even matchup.

Kate vs Dj Breloominati♬: Played against spitfire the other day, he spent the beginning of the match throwing boosters against an Unaware Clefable as it paralyzed everything and then forgot Sleep Clause was a thing. I see no reason why such an unviable player wouldn't get lucky here.
astralydia vs Piyush25: Piyush will win.
Fakee vs The Number Man: It's easy to give advantage to THE here, but I am concerned for his interest and practice with the metagame right now which seems to be on the low.
Fc vs Atha: Do not remember the last time Atha played SS, Fc is the Ubers leader and thus should be well at home w.r.t. using things that should be banned like Pyroak.
pannuracotta vs neomon: everyone was making fun of pannu in vc yesterday so I expect a hard ratio against us.
anique vs AM: gut feeling
avarice vs Micaiah: I cannot think of a good reason to not bold Micaiah.
DugZa vs Blui: More familiar with DugZa even if this isn't a tier I'd seen them play prior.

Mimikyu Stardust vs Lily: MS has a hard debut here against Lily, especially in a Bo3 format where knowledge of CAP is going to be tested to its limit.
snaga vs clean: i am not sure who either of these are but snaga is a fun name to make ligma jokes with so ig 51:49 their favor???
DetroitLolcat vs zioziotrip: bolding the cap player
RaJ.Shoot vs Baloor: bolding the cap player
velvet vs SHSP: The odds of shisp winning here are proportional to the amount of time he's able to get fire builds from the boys cookin in the back.
swordstrike vs LBN: dex broke his keyboard buying this dude IDK who they are but nobody gets that sweaty for a sub player, expecting a lot.
Steam Buns vs BasedWhat?: Buns has not really been active much from what I can tell, meanwhile BasedWhat no longer is living in fear of being the dedicated Bo3 slot so I think he'll be in the right headspace this match.
tier vs Kaede: Kaede has done very good recently and I expect them to keep up said performance.

Also now that w1 is here expect the funny thread to go up soon, if official art isn't posted by the first match you get to bear witness to my excellent craftsmanship.

Bo3: Kate vs Dj Breloominati♬ - spitfire's a tough guy to take down in CAP if his techs don't backfire on him. mons is mons though, and given the success kate has found in other tiers, I expect this to go down to the wire. personal series highlight
SS: astralydia vs Piyush25 - lydia had an absurd record last PL, and the question this time around is if she'll be able to replicate that success; this could really be anyone's game, but I reckon piyush is more familiar with the current meta after CL and likely has better current-gen building support on the crawlers
SS: Fakee vs The Number Man - THE
SS: Fc vs Atha - fc's wcop showing has been really impressive and I think he'll be dangerous in this tour. atha is no slouch either, though, and I could see him tryharding this as it marks his return to cap TTs after a while away. looking forward to this one
SM: pannuracotta vs neomon - bolding pannu in 2022 hurts me to no small extent but unfortunately they know sm quite well
SM: anique vs AM - not quite sure how to rate either of these guys in smcap - anique's natdex experience will probably help him here, but I've got a feeling AM will still take it in the end
ORAS: avarice vs Micaiah - micaiah is quite good
ORAS: DugZa vs Blui - bit more familiar with the tier, think he's probably a stronger pilot too

Bo3: Mimikyu Stardust vs Lily - I like lily as a player a lot & she's more familiar with cap gens but mimikyu is p good afaik so who knows
SS: snaga vs clean - literally have no clue how to rate snaga in ss but he's got red trophy plot armor ig. two new players who are both quite solid outside of cap, series highlight imo
SS: DetroitLolcat vs zioziotrip - yea still not over you guys stealing zio from us by upbidding him to 18.5k :sob:
SS: RaJ.Shoot vs Baloor - The Loor will win his match this week.
SM: velvet vs SHSP - velvet will not prep for celebi
SM: swordstrike vs LBN - I think swordstrike could actually pop off this tour, he's had a few impressive showings in other tiers, but dex still somehow managed to draft 17 players with no pastgen support
ORAS: Steam Buns vs BasedWhat? - gotta go with my boy here. mr buns has fine odds vs anyone in this pool, but len frankly seems much more active and motivated to do well
ORAS: tier vs Kaede - not their first oras cap rodeo. kaede should do well and has the support between shsp/len to succeed
I didn't realize that I was one game away from bolding an 8-0 until I tallied the scores at the end but holy shit if the lechonkers win this week I will be extremely shocked

SM: Jordy vs JayHeaven. Hella HL and im mad hype to watch this, hard to say which of these guys is less washed at sm tho?
SM: Clementine vs iKiQ. from what I've seen and know clementine is just generally a more impressive player and with jordy as building support i cant rlly imagine him losing this
ORAS: spoo vs quziel. oras SUPER hl, both these guys are very competent and i love watching them both play, that being said during cl quziels play and build impressed me more then spoos, tho spoo winning would by all means not be suprising
ORAS: gorex vs cbrevan. to me gorex is just a generally more solid and consistent player, esp in oras where he's got some semblance of experience

SM: velvet vs SHSP. very hard to bold against shspy in his main tier
SM: swordstrike vs LBN. neither of these guys play sm but saharajas support seems more solid to be and billy is probably the better pilot of the two, that being said ubers mainees have a 50/50 of either being gods or woatsauce at oldgens
ORAS: Steam Buns vs BasedWhat? BWs unique building and solid play will definitely put him at an advantage, that being said he might be a bit crust at the tier?
