Background: Back in the days of Gen. IV, there were some CAP Pokemon that were finalized without a full set of Pokedex entries:
  • Arghonaut
  • Kitsunoh
  • Cyclohm
  • Colossoil
  • Krilowatt
  • Voodoom (only has one)
During CAP updates, we ran the process for giving Arghonaut a set of Gen. IV Pokedex entries here. We recently gave Kitsunoh Pokedex entries here. It's Cyclohm's turn, which which will lay the foundation for giving Cyclohm's pre-evolutions Pokedex entries!

In this thread, we will be giving CAP 8, Cyclohm, a set of Gen. IV Pokedex entries. Here is Cyclohm's Final Product thread, for reference.

These Pokedex entries must be written in the format of Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. This means that the word and character limits must match those from those games, and Pokemon names must be in all capital letters. Otherwise, we will be using modern Pokedex Submission rules.

You will have 72 hours to make your final submissions!

-----

Legal Pokedex submissions must meet the following standards:
  • Species Names cannot be over 11 characters.
  • Pokedex Entries must have flawless grammar. Smogon has a Grammar & Prose team that will help identify mistakes.
  • Pokedex Entries cannot be longer than 23 words and cannot be over 109 characters.
  • Pokedex Entries can only contain the following characters:
    • Letters A-Z
    • Numbers 0-9
    • Dash (-)
    • Apostrophe (')
    • Double quote (")
    • Period (.)
    • Comma (,)
    • Colon (:)
    • Semi-colon (;)
    • Space
Work In Progress (WIP) Pokedex Entries can be posted at any time for comments from the community.

No more than three WIP Pokedex Entries can be posted by any individual person through the entire course of the submission thread. This limit applies to ALL posts made by a single person, even if previous posts are edited or deleted. This limit is intended to curb the tendency for some submitters to spam the thread repeatedly with multiple Pokedex Entries. This detracts from other submissions and makes it difficult for commenters to survey the submission thread.

Do not bump your WIP Pokedex Entries by posting them repeatedly, or making minor wording changes. Bumping will result in the disqualification of all Pokedex Entries by the offender. Editing or deleting bump posts will not prevent disqualification.

Only ONE Final Submission can be made per person.

Pokedex entries Final Submissions must posted exactly in the following format and in the following exact order:
  • The first line of the post must have the words "Final Submission" in bold on its own line. No other text may be included before the bold heading.
  • A blank line
  • "<Pokémon Name>, the <Species Name> Pokémon", with the Pokemon name and the Species Name in bold
  • A blank line
  • The Diamond Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Diamond" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
  • A blank line
  • The Pearl Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Pearl" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
  • A blank line
  • The Platinum Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Platinum" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
Below the Final Submission you can post other comments, explanations, etc.

Cyclohm

Final Submission

Cyclohm
, the Cyclone Pokémon

Diamond: CYCLOHM is very temperamental. Its tumultuous roars are often mistaken for torrential thunderstorms.

Pearl: Its heads are at constant war with each other. During fights, they can turn a sunny sky into a surging storm.

Platinum: A single lightning strike from it can level a building. It will often strike the same place thrice.

Cyclohm,
the Storm Cloud Pokémon

Diamond: The thundercloud covering its body is incredibly dense and flexible, repelling even the strongest of blows.

Pearl: CYCLOHM's three heads' constant bickering charges its body with enough static to create small thunderstorms.

Platinum: The lightning CYCLOHM unleashes is powerful enough to cut solid rock and even blast the peak off a mountain.

Cyclohm
, the Cloud Pokémon

Diamond: Storm clouds are its prey. During clear weather, it calms, and its three heads take turns sleeping.

Pearl: The bleating of a relaxed CYCLOHM is easily mistaken for the sound of rain. It is popular with children.

Platinum: They flock together wherever it storms, sharing gathered lightning among one another.

Final Submission

Cyclohm
, the Cloudburst Pokémon

Diamond: Some old wives’ tales claim that thunderstorms are the result of CYCLOHM battling above the clouds.

Pearl: CYCLOHM often amass atop hurricanes, hoping to make a meal of things caught within the eye of the storm.

Platinum: Until a century ago, it was thought that CYCLOHM laid their eggs by carefully depositing them in raindrops.

I saw this 'mon as never descending to Earth unless in exceptional circumstances. "Cloudburst" is a colloquial term for thunderstorm.
