[CAP ASB] CAP Updates for 5th Gen ASB

Status
Not open for further replies.
Privatyke movepool looks fine, although I think Lightningrod is a bit suspect for a DW ability, salutations or no. I think Klutz would be pretty funny ability. Lightningrod is just a bit too out there conceptually.
Oh my, I didn't notice this. Am I the only one who does not want to turn Zapdos into Arghonaut's bitch? (Not counting Subroost here)

He had Iron Fist as Arghonauts, which is fine. I think Privatyke's conceptually was Lightningrod because of the whole saluting thing, but that's still a bridge too far. I mean, it's not Goldeen here.

Umm, I'm pretty sure Revenankh does not have a pre-evo...
Never mind the pre-evo stuff I said.

Also, Rev doesn't lose any moves from going from the 4th gen to the 5th gen; try to imagine you taught him the moves and then transferred him to Black/White through the PokéShifter.

Good job otherwise.

Thanks Deck Knight, I've updated Privatyke with your recommendations.
I'll take a shot at Arghonaut

Genuinely surprised no one wanted to do Syclant. My turn then (Placeholder).

Concept: Syclar is basically a mini-Scylant. Paper defenses and strong mixed attacking prowess.

Dream World Ability: Technician

Syclar:

Height: 1'7"
Weight: 44 lbs / 20 kg
Evolution: Syclar --> Level 40 --> Syclant

Abilities:
Compoundeyes: (Innate) This Pokemon’s complex eyes give it a comprehensive view of the field, making its attack 30% (x1.3) more accurate.
Mountaineer: (Innate) This Pokemon is used to scaling and avoiding rocks. It can avoid damage from Stealth Rock when it switches in, and one Rock-type attack per round.
Technician (DW): (Innate) This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally deal 6 or below base damage to have their base damage multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) damage, and the Energy Cost for mutli-hit attacks is increased by two (2).

I made a sprite for Plicowatt!

I made some changes relative to Tort's Concept Drawing

* It's orange, like Krillowatt
* Front limbs removed (Krillowatt only has 6)
* Tail fronds removed
* Bolt-Marks on face are smaller
* White Eyes

It's not transparent yet because I might need to change it, but it is in a 96/96 canvas.

But perhaps not that much continuity. Do you really want that cute little thing to have Sheer Cold? I used the same reasoining in not giving Pyroak's prevos Flare Blitz and such. It screws with flavor.

It's primarily an Ice type. Sheer Cold is a horribly inaccurate energy sucking attack that doesn't even rightly OHKO as it's been interpreted, and Syclar has few effective methods of pinning opponents down. Anyway, Sheer Cold isn't even a fully evolved mon thing, here's its distribution.

I directly developed Plicowatt from the following Wikipedia image of a nauplius (i.e. a shrimp larva)

I would add in the extra limbs at least-the front two directly develop into Krilowatt's antennae. I also liked the purple (the pink would imply a shell), but it isn't quite as important.

Since no one claimed it yet, I'm gonna update Fidgit's movepool (and his preevo too).

Breezi

Concept: Since I imagine Breezi to be something akin to Drifloon flavor-wise, and since it's type changes upon evolution making him grounded, I wanted to differentiate him from Fidgit in many ways. As far as stats go, he loses a lot on defenses, while retaining good SpA and Speed. In the movepool, many Ground-typed moves will be replaced with Flying-typed ones.

Dream World Ability: Unburden

(Height and Weight to be decided after sprite is available)
Evolution: Breezi --> level up /w Iron Ball --> Fidgit

Abilities
Persistent: (Innate) This Pokemon has a great affinity for odd field effects. When it uses one of these effects it increases their duration. Moves effected are Gravity, Heal Block, Lucky Chant, Safeguard, and Tailwind by an additional one (1) round or three (3) actions.
Vital Spirit: (Innate) This Pokemon has a high vitality and alertness making it immune to sleep induced by other Pokemon. It's normal state of sleeplessness makes it take 1 less damage/action from Ghost Curse. If it is put to sleep by a Pokemon with Mold Breaker it will wake up the next action.
Unburden(DW): (Innate) This Pokemon is incredibly possessive. If it uses or loses an item in battle its rage swells and its speed doubles (x2) until it recieves another item.

Fidgit

(sprite to be linked soon)

Dream World Ability: ok, I know I'll get a lot of flaming for proposing it, but I think Fidgit should really get Mischievous Heart. It makes sense with its concept, and with its art too. And as far as brokenness goes, the only thing Fidgit has over other MH users is MH hazards and the added bulkiness. However, it misses both Leech Seed from Erufuun and the huge punch of the genies. Moreover, it would have to give up the great sleep immunity (someone would argue that MH Taunt fixes this, but most times, Vital Spirit was used on switch ins anyway). However, if the community deems MH to be too much for Fidgit, Sand Throw should be a valid alternative. The speed boost can allow Fidgit to focus more on bulk while still outrunning the majority on the metagame in a Sandstorm. Plus, Fidgit's mediocre 90 SpA and lack of boosting moves ensure we wouldn't have another Excadrill to deal with.

Mischievous Heart(DW): (Innate) The Pokemon is always prepared for engaging in sneaky tactics and trickery, giving its non-damaging attacks an increase in priority level.

So, there it is. The only controversial addition I gave is probably Mischievous Heart, but as I explained I wouldn't mind replacing it with Sand Throw (or hell, even Sand Power if you really feel it's too broken anyway, but I highly doubt it)

Looking good zarator! And about MH, Breezi and DW Fidgit won't be used on a real simulator anyway, and I believe the genies are banned in ASB.

Yeah I know, but since I couldn't get people to give Stratagem neither Sand Throw nor Sand Power, I had to remedy somehow ;-)

Reserving Voodoll/Voodoom movepools. Editing in here soon

Voodoll

Concept: Aside from the type change, nothing wildly different from his evolution. HOWEVER, after reading through DJD's supporting material, I don't think Voodoll should have the Electric-type immunity abilities.

Dream World Ability: Cursed Body

Evolution: Voodoll --> Level up /w Charge --> Voodoom

Abilities
Insomnia: (Innate) This Pokemon is immune to sleep induced by other Pokemon. It's normal state of sleeplessness makes it take 1 less damage/action from Ghost Curse. If it is put to sleep by a Pokemon with Mold Breaker it will wake up the next action.
Normalize: (Can be deactivated) This Pokemon has mastered Normal-type attacks and can change any attack type to have a Normal energy signature. All attacks used by the Pokemon are considered Normal-type attacks, although they retain the same status-enducing and other properties. The Pokemon will do three (3) more damage with Normal-typed attacks.
Cursed Body (DW): (Innate) When This Pokemon is struck by an opponents attack that makes contact, there is a 30% chance that attack will be disabled. Only one of the opponent's attacks can be disabled at a time due to Cursed Body.

(The idea here is that Insomnia turns into Volt Absorb upon evolution, Normalize turns into Lightning Rod and Cursed Body turns into the DW ability)

(sprite to be linked soon)

Dream World Ability: Motor Drive

Evolution: Voodoll --> Level Up w/ Charge --> Voodoom

Abilities
Volt Absorb: (Innate) This Pokemon absorbs all electrical attacks and instead of taking damage, recover HP. Thunder Wave has no effect on the Pokemon.
Lightning Rod: (Innate) These Pokemon naturally attract electricity to themselves and away from partners in double battles. When struck with an Electric attack, they tranfer the energy into their body, using it to increase their Special Attack by one (1) stage. This boost is maintained at the end of each round.
Motor Drive (DW): (Innate) This Pokemon nullifies any electrical attack damage and converts the energy from any electrical attack (inc. Thunder Wave) into an energy source that allows it to boost its speed by one (1) level. This boost is maintained at the end of each round.

There we are. Removing some grown-up moves from the preevo movepool (Focus Blast, Bulk Up, Hyper Beam etc), nothing removed otherwise

By the way, smashlloyd, once you complete Pyroak's movepool (you still have to add the first form's movepool, and a couple other things), I think the only leftover data are the preevo sprites of several CAPs (although we could start ASB even without them, they're not strictly necessary).

As I stated previously, I've discussed Pyroak on IRC with Deck and we've decided it is done. In addition, Embirch and Flarelm have exactly the same movepool. Feel free to make suggestions.
