Final Submission
1 Diamond Storm
1 Power Gem
1 Life Dew
1 Swagger
1 Horn Leech
1 Tackle
1 Sand Attack
1 Mud Shot
1 Ancient Power
Evo Diamond Storm
12 Bulldoze
16 Stomp
20 Rest
24 Sandstorm
28 Body Slam
32 Sand Tomb
36 Earth Power
40 Stealth Rock
44 Earthquake

48 Fissure
  • Saharascal doesn't have gems so it doesn't get Power Gem or Diamond Storm, Saharaja learns its signature Diamond Storm on evolution and has Power Gem as a Heart Scale move. Rascal also doesn't have a horn so only Raja gets Horn Leech through Heart Scale too. Lastly, Life Dew is there for Raja because of the water crystals on Raja's humps, which Rascal lacks, with water being the essence of life in dry deserts.
  • Swagger has been added to Heart Scale moves, being learned by other boastful Pokemon including fellow royals like Empoleon, Slowking, and Vespiquen. As Rascal evolves via King's Rock, the other two official Pokemon that evolve this way, Slowking and Politoed, both gain Swagger as Heart Scale moves too.
  • Level-up pool is pretty basic for a Ground-type quadruped, Ancient Power alludes to the ancient nature of diamonds and deserts.

Egg Group(s): Field

Rapid Spin (Drilbur)
Heal Bell (Miltank)
Pain Split (Stufful)
Headbutt (Buneary)
Stockpile (Skwovet)
Swallow (Skwovet)
Spit Up (Skwovet)
Smack Down (Rhyhorn)
Covet (Eevee)
  • Egg group is Field since that's where most regular Pokemon go that aren't dragons, living rocks, ghosts, etc. Egg moves included Rapid Spin, Heal Bell, and Pain Split because I can't see Rascal or Raja doing these normally. Stockpile/Swallow/Spit Up refers to camels' ability to store fat in their humps for long periods without food, swallowing huge amounts of water when they find it, and spitting when they're upset. Smack Down because maybe Rascal and Raja can launch rocks or diamonds at things.
  • Covet, thieving attack similar to Thief, can be learned as an egg move, fitting Rascal's personality.

TM49: Sand Tomb
TM53: Mud Shot

TM58: Assurance
TM59: Fling
TM76: Round
TM81: Bulldoze
TM98: Stomping Tantrum
  • TM list is simple, Giga Impact and Hyper Beam are learned by most full-evolved Pokemon, Light Screen uses the light refracting through the water crystals.

TR00: Swords Dance
TR01: Body Slam
TR03: Hydro Pump
TR04: Surf
TR10: Earthquake

TR67: Earth Power

TR69: Zen Headbutt
TR75: Stone Edge
TR76: Stealth Rock
TR92: Dazzling Gleam
TR94: High Horsepower
TR99: Body Press
  • Surf and Hydro Pump are included because camels are called "ships of the desert" and because of the myth that they store water in their humps. Dazzling Gleam because of those shiny water crystals, High Horsepower because camels are used to carry loads in the desert where horses typically can't survive.

Scorching Sands
  • Scorching Sands fits because of the hot desert sands where Raja might live.

Saharascal evolves into Saharaja when traded while holding a King's Rock. This was chosen because Raja means king or ruler, representing the scrawny little camel evolving into a magnificent if not prideful king.
1 Tackle
1 Sand Attack
4 Mud Shot
8 Ancient Power
12 Bulldoze
16 Stomp
20 Rest
24 Sandstorm
28 Body Slam
32 Sand Tomb
36 Earth Power
40 Stealth Rock
44 Earthquake

48 Fissure
  • Saharascal doesn't have water diamonds so it makes more sense for it not to have Diamond Storm and moves like Power Gem and Life Dew.

TM58: Assurance
TM59: Fling
TM76: Round
TM81: Bulldoze
TM98: Stomping Tantrum
  • Rascal doesn't get Giga Impact or Hyper Beam, similar to most NFEs. Also no Light Screen because no water crystals.
  • Rascal is described as "crafty" and with the ability Pickpocket, Thief makes sense to add, at least as a TM.

TR00: Swords Dance
TR01: Body Slam
TR10: Earthquake

TR14: Metronome
TR17: Amnesia
TR20: Substitute
TR26: Endure
TR27: Sleep Talk

TR31: Iron Tail
TR37: Taunt
TR42: Hyper Voice
TR67: Earth Power
TR69: Zen Headbutt
TR76: Stealth Rock
TR94: High Horsepower
TR99: Body Press
  • Rascal is a camel but it doesn't learn Surf or Hydro Pump because it lacks the water crystals. It also doesn't get Stone Edge because many Ground-type NFEs that aren't part Rock don't learn it, even if their evos do. No Power Gem or Dazzling Gleam because no crystals.

Scorching Sands
  • Among Ground-types, there are many full-evolved Pokemon that can learn Scorching Sands where the prevos can also learn it. Rascal is still a desert camel, so it can still learn it too.

These questions were never answered in the thread. For anyone still wondering what to do, here is what happened for Miasmaw and Astrolotl.

Question; should we be creating seperate TM/TR/Tutor lists for the pre-evolution as well? It's fairly common for prevos to have less TM/TR/Tutor availability than their evos. I was under the impression we were attempting to hash out the prevos movepool as well during this process but I'm not 100% sure, and since it hasn't been brought up explicitly thought I might as well ask.
During Miasmaw's project, it was determined that there was enough information to finalize the movepool for both Miasmaw and Miasmite. In a post by Quanyails, submitters were expected to follow the OP's movepool formatting for BOTH pokemon. Since we have enough info for Saharaja and Saharascal, we will be using the precedent set by CAP 28.

We will be creating movepools for both the pre-evolution and the final evolution together. When submitting, you must submit two sections, one for the pre-evo and one for the final evo.

Is it required to list the evolution method? (level, evolution stone, etc)
Yes. From Astrolotl's project, evolution method was left until the prevo movepool submission. Since both movepools will be submitted at the same time, you will need to submit a clear evolution method when creating a movepool. This can be via level up or other more esoteric means, but please give it a good reason for whatever you choose.

Hey everyone, quick update here to push things along. Last few legality checks- Power Trip, Ancient Power and Double Edge are all allowed. Neither struck the team or I as being particularly viable or problematic.

Additionally, I'm going to push a 48 Hour Warning on this last stage now. Appreciate the patience as always as I wade through some difficult timing on my end, and massive thanks to Wulfanator for answering some questions in my stead!

Disqualifications:
  • Tommaniacal: First four moves listed in the pre-evo's level-up movepool not listed as level 1 moves for evo.
  • Ayecrusher King: Final Submission line not first line of post.
  • Chartung17: Heal Bell is not able to be passed as an egg move in Sw/Sh.
  • Emergence: Heal Bell not able to be passed as an egg move in Sw/Sh.
Everyone else advances to poll 1!
