1v1 [BW] Sawk (Choice Band + Choice Scarf) [QC 2/2] [GP 1/1]

[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: Close Combat
move 2: Ice Punch
move 3: Bulldoze / Earthquake
move 4: Stone Edge
item: Choice Band
ability: Sturdy
nature: Adamant
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Set Description
=============
Sawk's biggest strength is its Sturdy ability, which lets it get at least one Choice Band-boosted attack off in most circumstances. Close Combat is Sawk's strongest move and OHKOes many Fighting-weak and neutral threats, such as Snorlax, offensive Genesect, and Porygon-Z. Sawk's Ice Punch OHKOes Thundurus-T, Zapdos, Tornadus, Latios, and Landorus-T. Bulldoze lets Sawk beat Raikou, while Earthquake is better against Custap Berry Chandelure sets. Sawk's Stone Edge OHKOes Volcarona sets that do not both outspeed and have Substitute.

EVs
=============
Choice Band Sawk always wants to use maximum Attack and Speed EVs with an Adamant nature, as Sturdy allows it to attack at least once against almost any Pokemon.

Usage Tips
=============
Choice Band Sawk is very straightforward: use the move that does the most damage to the foe. There are exceptions to this; against Raikou, Sawk should always use Bulldoze if it has it to work around potential Pressure stall sets.

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Close Combat
move 2: Ice Punch
move 3: Stone Edge
move 4: Earthquake
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Sturdy
nature: Adamant
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Set Description
=============
Choice Scarf sacrifices Sawk's raw power with Choice Band to freely hit many targets twice with its Sturdy ability and Speed. Close Combat is Sawk's strongest move and can be used against Porygon-Z, Snorlax, and Meloetta. Ice Punch lets Sawk beat Taunt + Charge Thundurus, Landorus-T, Tornadus, Tornadus-T, and non-Yache Berry Garchomp variants. Stone Edge lets Sawk beat most Volcarona sets if it hits twice. Earthquake beats Raikou and Chandelure.

EVs
=============
Choice Scarf Sawk always wants to use maximum Attack and Speed EVs with an Adamant nature, as Sturdy allows it to attack at least once against almost any Pokemon.

Usage Tips
=============
Choice Scarf Sawk should click the move that does the most damage against its foe. Due to Sturdy, Sawk does not have to fear Counter from any Pokemon other than Scrafty, which can break Sawk's Sturdy with its Fake Out. Choice Scarf also makes Sawk harder to PP stall with Pokemon like Aerodactyl due to it moving before a potential use of Substitute.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Sawk can also run Custap Berry sets, which can allow Sawk to run different moves from its Choice-item sets like Bulk Up, Taunt, and Knock Off. However, due to Endure and Close Combat leaving only two free moveslots, Custap Berry Sawk struggles to run any coverage moves whatsoever.

I am going to want another look to make sure this is implemented well

Band:
Set + Description
- remove the ivs: part if you don't need special IVs
- both neutral targets you mention are unreliable, idk about others but I run Occa Berry with tons of bulk on sect + you mentioned Reflect Keldeo - maybe just mention offensive Genesect and remove Keldeo altogether from CC mentions. Meloetta is good here for both sets tho
- remove the fluff about things that resist CC imo
- add Choice Specs Zapdos and Latios here too
- Remove the specifics for Bulldoze, that's for Usage Tips
- Fire Punch does not seem helpful against Genesect, if they're bulky enough for CC, they're probably also Occa Berry - this would make the last slash Stone Edge / Bulldoze

EVs
- You can end the sentence at "against almost any Pokemon"

Usage Tips
- Be specific about where Bulldoze helps, edit the last sentence to be less abstract - talk about where it helps, omit where it doesn't

Scarf:
Set + Description
- Sawk only wins vs Band Rhyperior, not Custap, so not the greatest example
- From an outside perspective: why specifcally Taunt Thundurus? Say Charge or non-SubTox instead to be more clear
- Chople Berry Heatran is not relevant and it wouldn't win if you used CC
- Stone Edge is more relevant than EQ I feel, couldn't find much where EQ helped, but Stone Edge definitely has a usecase, you can probably remove EQ

EVs
- same as above

Usage Tips
- This is Usage Tips, not Checks and Counters. Talk about where Sawk has to play carefully instead - if there isn't anything, say that

Set Description
=============
Sawk's biggest strength is its Sturdy Ability, which allows it to survive long enough to get at least one Choice Band-boosted attack off in most circumstances. Close Combat is Sawk's strongest STAB move and OHKOes many super-effective and neutral threats, such as Snorlax, offensive Genesect, and Porygon-Z. Ice Punch lets Sawk OHKO Thundurus-T, Zapdos, Latios, Tornadus and Landorus-T. Earthquake lets Sawk better damage Entei, Choice Specs Raikou, and Arcanine, while Stone Edge lets Sawk OHKO Volcarona that do not outspeed and have Substitute. Bulldoze lets Sawk defeat PP Stall Raikou sets. Fire Punch is used to OHKO bulky Genesect sets that do not hold an Occa Berry.

EVs
=============
Choice Band Sawk always wants to use 252 Attack and 252 Speed EVs with an Adamant nature, as Sturdy allows it to attack at least once against almost any Pokemon.

Usage Tips
=============
Choice Band Sawk is very straightforward in terms of how it should be used. Against Raikou, Sawk should use Bulldoze over Earthquake to account for potential PP Stall sets. In nearly any other situation, it is advisable for Sawk to use the move that does the most damage to the opponent.
as this is for newer players mention fakeout+attack pokes that ohko it (mienshao, chople scraft and ambipom come to mind) since you specifically say almost any pokemon above you should clarify what is not in that ''almost any'' category

gonna double down on this - imo bulky genesect should always be occa

In nearly any other situation, it is advisable for Sawk to use the move that does the most damage to the opponent. Sawk, however, may lose to Pokemon like Fighting Gem Mienshao, which can use Fake Out to break Sawk's Sturdy. this would go in checks / counters if we had it in the format, not about playing carefully since you just lose

Choice Scarf sacrifices Sawk's raw power with Choice Band for the ability to hit twice against many targets with its Sturdy ability and Speed. Close Combat is Sawk's strongest move and can be used against Porygon-Z, Snorlax, and Choice Band Rhyperior Meloetta more reliable example, both are correct but I think winning versus all common meloetta sets is more notable than one rhyperior set. Ice Punch lets Sawk beat Taunt + Charge Thundurus, Landorus-Therian, all variants of Tornadus, Tornadus-T, and non-Yache Berry Garchomp variants. Stone Edge lets Sawk beat most Volcarona, regardless of the set, if it hits twice charti flame charge with speed / def for sawk can win but it's not common. Fire Punch lets Sawk beat certain Genesect sets more reliably this is mostly just for choice scarf - otherwise sawk can just cc twice - I would argue removing this here is fine as well, but not as clear cut as band.

add a description of eq's role as well

Chople heatran loses to EQ - if it's Air Balloon, CC owns - you can mention that instead if you like. Choice Scarf also allows Sawk to be less likely to be PP stalled by Pokemon like Aerodactyl due to moving before a potential use of Substitute it wins against pressure stall, not just better chances - add Raikou with EQ as well.

other options:
add bulldoze here / maybe write about custap and mention it has steep competition with scarf

These sets allow Sawk to sets, which can run different moves from its Choice item (removed line break) sets, (you can remove comma if you want) like Bulk Up, Taunt, and Knock Off.
