What is BW Monotype?
BW stands for Black and White also known as Generation 5. Monotype is when all six of your Pokemon share the exact same type. EX: Politoed, Vaporeon, Cloyster, Keldeo, Swampert, Lanturn this would be acceptable for a Water Monotype. Dual typing are allowed for example Garchomp can be used on both Dragon and Ground teams. This metagame had its own ladder and is the original Monotype metagame.
FAQ
Q:Can I use Mega Evolutions?
A: No you can't use Mega Evolutions they are not available in BW.

Q: Does the Fairy type exist in BW?
A: No the fairy type does not exist in BW therefore there are only 17 types to choose from

Q: Is Drizzle banned?
A: No Drizzle is not ban, but Drizzle plus Swift Swim is banned as well as Sand Stream+Sand Rush and Drought plus Chlorophyll(impossible combination)

Q:What format can I play BW Monotype in?
A: You can play BW Monotype in Gen 5 OU

Q: Will Ubers be unban in BW Monotype?
A: Most likely not since it makes the banlist way to complicated

Q: Is Shadow Tag banned?
A: No Shadow Tag is not ban.
-Fairy Type does not exist Most fairy types either become Normal types EX: Clefable or they only have one type EX: Azumarill
-Weather is permanent in BW it will stay on field the whole game unless another weather ability takes effect Drought, Sand Stream, Drizzle,Snow Warning or Rain Dance, Sunny Day, Hail, or Sandstorm is used.
-Moves that were introduced in Generation 6 are not allowed EX: Moonblast, Freeze Dry, Play Rough, Dazzling Gleam, Sticky Web,Draining Kiss, Boomburst etc.
-Sand Stream plus Sand Rush is not allowed
-Drizzle plus Swift Swim is not allowed
-Pokemon that were introduced in XY are not allowed
-Steel resits Dark and Ghost
-Moves such as Thunderbolt Flamethrower Ice Beam,Surf, have 95 power instead of 90
-Moves such as Hurricane,Thunder, Fire Blast, and Blizzard have 120 power instead of 110
-Critical Hits do double damage instead of 1.5
-No Mega Evolutions are allowed
-Defog does not get rid of hazards
-Knock Off has base 20 power instead of 65
Hidden Power has base 70 Power instead of 60
Low Sweep has base 60 power instead of 65

BW Monotype Viability rankings

Welcome to the BW Monotype Viability Rankings. As most of you know, Monotype is completely different from OU in terms of viability. Instead of focusing on a Pokemon's flaws and the amount of roles they can perform, we're mainly focusing on how each Pokemon can fare against other type matchups. Abilities are valued more than are more valued on specific type EX: Flash Fire on Steel,
will be ranked Higher. Pokemon are placed in either S, A, B, C, or D rank, with S only having Pokemon that can easily influence the game against a majority of type matchups, while D has Pokemon that are solely used for their moves or abilities.
Rules
-Rank changes are allowed but please post intelligently
-If you see a Pokemon is misplaced please make a post on why X Pokemon should be raised and provide a detailed explanation why
-Please do not post rank changes if you do not know or have very little experience with the BW Monotype Metagame
-Please do not post "joke" rankings EX:God rankings and or S ranks for Pokemon that are not viable will not be tolerated.


How the Ranks Work
-Pokemon have two Ranks for two different types. Ex: Abomasnow would be more useful on Ice than it would be on Grass

These people will have the final say if a Pokemon is completely misplaced. If you have any questions or need help, please PM / VM these people.

Although Charizard isn't as good in Gen 5 as Mega-Charizard-Y is in ORAS,It still is a pretty great mon in Fire.Due to Ninetales' Drought being Permanent,Charizard can really abuse its Solar Power ability which increases its Special attack 1.5x more under sun.With Life orb and Solar Power,Charizard's Fire attack is actually stronger than Mega-Charizard-Y! As nothing really wants to switch into this monster,I feel like it could be B rank instead of C as it is certainly viable.It's movepool is also really good which helps deal with stuff Fire struggles to deal with such as Water,Ground,Rock,Dragon.

Bearing all these qualities in mind, I think Charizard is worthy of B rank on Fire.
