Pet Mod Brokemons Unchained (V1 Old Thread)

Status
Not open for further replies.
To be respectful of AdriansLucario's time, shadowpeashooter and I are going to move forward to the voting phase ASAP. That said, the current submission phase closes on Thursday morning.
You'll know when the voting phase begins if you're paying attention. The new thread will also launch on Thursday.
You may still submit to the new thread during the voting phase for this slate; just no re-subs until after voting ends for the present thread's current (final) slate.

REVISION PHASE! (3 days)
NOTE: Just because I'm co-running this doesn't mean you have to make the changes I suggest, unless I say "you must." You are free to make your own decisions on whether to change anything. Peace!
bump

:ss/Blastoise:
Pokemon: Blastoise
Stats: 79 / 83 / 105 / 115 / 105 / 88 (+0 / +0 / +5 / +30 / +0 / +10)
Type: Water / Ground
Abilities: Torrent / No Guard
Added Moves: Earth Power, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Thunder
Explanation: Very epic Shell Smash sweeper. Torrent lets it just ram through things with Hydro Cannon, but it can run No Guard to utilize its new coverage in Blizzard, Fire Blast, and Thunder. Also gets No Guard + Fissure, but it doesn't really matter here.

:ss/Spiritomb:
Pokemon: Spiritomb
Stats: 81 / 108/ 108 / 108 / 108 / 18 (+31 / +16 / +0 / +16 / +0 / -17)
Type: Ghost / Dark
Abilities: Pressure / Infiltrator / 108 Souls
New or Buffed Abilities: 108 Souls | All moves' base power are calculated as 108.
Added Moves: Knock Off, Nasty Plot, Swords Dance, Rock Smash, Vacuum Wave
New or Buffed Items: Odd Keystone | If Spiritomb, restores 1/10th HP every turn.
Explanation: The ability comes from an idea from M4A. I'd credit them if I remembered who they were, but I don't (sorry). Either way, it can be a SD or NP sweeper, with souped-up Shadow Sneak and Knock Off and new Fighting coverage, or even wackass things like 108-BP Shock Wave and Icy Wind.
Blastoise: Could be more broken.
Spiritomb: 81/108/108 bulk isn't that impressive, but I appreciate the attempt at a pattern. Maybe consider 18/108/180/108/180/18 (612 BST)? Either that or give it some form of reliable recovery.

bump #2
:swsh/pichu:
Pokemon: Pichu
Stats: 65 / 115 / 60 / 105 / 95 / 160 (600 BST) (+45 / +75 / +45 / +70 / +60 / +100) Ultra Pichu - 65 / 140 / 80 / 130 / 115 / 190 (720 BST) (+0 / +25 / +20 / +25 / +20 / +30)
Type:

Abilities: Lighting Rod / Transistor / Power of the Baby (Pichu) Ultra Pichu - Power of the Baby (Pichu)
New or Buffed Abilities:
  • Buffed
    • Lighting Rod - When this Pokémon gets hit by an Electric-type move, all of its stats get raised sharply.
    • Transistor - This Pokemon's attacking stat is multiplied by 1.75 while using an Electric-type attack.
  • New
    • Power of the Baby (Pichu) - These Pokémon’s Electric- and Fairy-type moves have x1.33 more power, hit everything super-effectively, ignore the Abilities of other Pokemon, and have +1 priority. This ability also combines the effects of Transistor and Lighting Rod.
Added Moves: Zekrom’s and Kyurem-Black’s Movepool (- Dragon Moves) + Moonblast, Wrath of the Baby (Pichu)
New or Buffed Moves:
  • Buffed
    • Bolt Strike - (180 BP |
      | Physical | 10 PP | 50% chance to Paralyze | User cannot move next turn)
  • New
    • Wrath of the Baby (Pichu) - (120 BP |
      | Physical or Special (Depending on users highest stat) | 5 PP | Combines
in type effectiveness | 1/4 Recoil | 100% chance to Paralyze)
New or Buffed Items:
  • New
    • Mystic Baby Powder (Pichu) - If Pichu is holding this item, it turns into Ultra Pichu. You can have another item with this.
Explanation: none lol just wanna make baby broken

I’m just gonna randpoke and make whatever I get broken.
:swsh/mr rime:
Pokemon: Mr. Rime
Stats: 80 / 90 / 85 / 135 / 105 / 105 (600 BST) (+0 / +5 / +10 / +25 / +5 / +35)
Type:

Abilities: Tangled Feet / Screen Cleaner / Dancing Frenzy
New or Buffed Abilities:
  • New
    • Dancing Frenzy - When this Pokémon uses a dancing move, it uses the move three times, the first at regular power, the second time at x1.5 more power, and the third time at x2.0 more power. If the dancing move is a status move, or if the dancing move has a secondary effect, the effect starts off normally on the first turn, then the effect is doubled on the second turn, and after that, the effect is tripled on the third turn. It’s secondary typing is also replaced by the typing of the move.
  • Buffed
    • Tangled Feet - If this Pokémon comes out and gets hit by hazards, it’s evasion is doubled until it switches out or faints.
    • Screen Cleaner - On switch-in, the effects of Aurora Veil, Light Screen, and Reflect end for the opponents side and are disabled for the whole battle.

Added Moves: All Dancing Moves + Slippy Dance
New or Buffed Moves:
  • New
    • Slippy Dance - (80 BP |
      | Special | 15 PP | 30% to raise Special Attack and Speed by 1 stage)
New or Buffed Items: none
Explanation: dance til’ your dead
Pichu: Not 100% certain if your 'retired idea' is something you planned on keeping or what… (usually I put non-slate entries after my slate entries, but there's no rule about this.) Regardless, considering how every Pokémon is getting broken, including individual forms, I'm gonna have to say we should avoid creating new form-changing Abilities for Pokémon that never had one to begin with. That said, you must revise this if it is a serious entry.
Mr. Rime: Still a WIP, it seems?

Pokemon: Pikachu
Stats: 40 HP / 68 Atk / 45 Def / 63 SpA / 55 SpD / 105 Spe
Type: Electric
Abilities: Static / Lightning Rod
Added Moves (Optional): Meteor Mash, Icicle Crash, Flying Press, Splishy Splash, Floaty Fall, Pika Papow, Zippy Zap, Swords Dance
New or Buffed Moves (Optional):
  • [NERFED] Zippy Zap: Revert to Gen 7 mechanics.
New or Buffed Items (Optional):
  • [BUFFED] Pikanium Z: Doubles Attack stat of Pikachu
  • [BUFFED] Pikashunium Z: Doubles Special Attack stat of Pikachu. Works on Pikachu.

Explanation: Pikachu is a broken Pokemon, but all of the tools it needs to be broken are kept away from it. So now I simply combined all of that together into one Pokemon. I gave it access to all of the moves different forms got over the years. I nerfed Zippy zap because its Gen 8 mechanics it raises evasion, and we are making broken Pokemon not uncompetitive ones. The stats are an average of base Pikachu and Partner Pikachu. It gets Swords Dance because it already learns Nasty Plot.
Pikachu: I like the idea… but it's not broken.

:ss/Flareon:
Pokemon: Flareon
Stats: 80/160/80/95/110/110 (+15, +30, +20, +0, +0, +55)
Type:
Ember - Fire-type

New or Buffed Abilities: Guts, Incinerate
Incinerate - Fire type Aerilate
Guts - Allows the pokemon to be affected by any status, but makes them immune as well as doubling attack when statused.
Added Moves: Close Combat, Bulk Up, V-Create
Explanation: 160 Attack, Guts, 110 speed, go kill some stuff!

Also, Randpoked Zigzagoon, so...
:ss/zigzagoon:
Pokemon: Zigzagoon
Stats: 98/80/61/80/61/140 (520)
Type:
Normal

New or Buffed Abilities: Speed Boost, Protean, Sheer Force
Buffed Abilities - This pokemon's other stats have this pokemon's speed value added to them. (So if you have 400 speed, and 90 attack, you have 490 attack now.)
Added Moves: Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Hyper Voice, Nasty Plot.
Explanation: Haha 252+ speed go NYOOOOOOOOM.
And I randpoked again and got Wailord.
:ss/wailord:
Pokemon: Wailord
Stats: 170/90/80/120/80/60
Type:
Water
,
Flying

New or Buffed Abilities: Above, Oblivious, Drizzle
Above - This pokemon does double damage to grounded pokemon, and takes half damage from grounded pokemon.
Added Moves: Hurricane, Smack Down, Life Dew, Heal Bell.
Explanation: Smack the inferior flying types to the ground and rain down on them with Water Spout, or be a chunky rain lead.
Flareon: Broken. √
Zigzagoon: Broken. √
Wailord: Broken. √

Aura Wheel is a move with serious potential. Lets try to make its only user broken!

:ss/morpeko:
Pokemon: Morpeko
Stats: 82 (+24) / 139 (+44) / 78 (+10) / 60 (-10) / 78 (+10) / 103 (+6) / 520 BST (+84)
Type:
Electric / Dark
Abilities: Hunger Switch
Buffed Abilities:
  • BUFFED: Hunger Switch now allow the user to change formes at will, not at every other turn. I guess make a button under the four moves that says "Full Belly" and "Hangry" and works kinda like Necrozma's Ultra Burst button?
Added Moves: Swords Dance, Play Rough, Gunk Shot

Explanation: Swords Dance, Aura Wheel, die. This basically has both STABs in one move with a speed boost to boot. It also has the tools to break its checks/counters, like Play Rough for Kommo-o, Gunk Shot for Fairies, Ice Fang for Lando, etc. Super frail tho, but you basically have to use priority to kill it once it gets going. Also an Electric-type that can troll Garchomp is pretty nice.

I also randpoked a Krabby. Lets see what I can do...

:ss/krabby:
Pokemon: Krabby
Stats: 80 (+50) / 155 (+50) / 90 / 25 / 85 (+50) / 95 (+45) / 520 BST (+195)
Type:
Water / Fighting
Abilities: Hyper Cutter / Shell Armor | Tough Claws (HA)
Added Moves: Close Combat, Coaching, Ice Hammer
New or Buffed Moves:
  • BUFFED: Coaching also buffs Speed and works on the user, kinda like a physical QD.
  • NEW: Crab Rave: 120 BP, 95% accuracy, physical, makes contact, lowers user's SpD and Def by one stage, 20% chance to confuse target, 5/8 PP.
Explanation: Use coaching on yourself and kill. Simple as that. Oh and it still has SD as well, and I hear that Choice Band and Choice Scarf are both nice items. I could've just buffed Crabhammer instead of making Crab Rave but come on, you give me a crab and I'm just supposed to pass it up like that?

EDIT: Oh come on I basically stole like 3 Wailord subs without noticing it. Deleting it.

However I still think there's way too much offensive Pokemon. In that case, I think that the worst UB (outside of Poipole) deserves just a little buff:

:ss/guzzlord:
Pokemon: Guzzlord
Stats: 223 / 101 / 103(+40 )/ 47(-50) / 103(+40) / 23(-20) / 600 BST (+30)
Type:
Dark
Abilities: Immunity / Gluttony | Unaware (HA)
New or Buffed Abilities:
  • BUFFED: Immunity: Cures all major status right after they are afflicted on the user.
Added Moves: Slack Off, Parting Shot, Baneful Bunker, Spikes

Explanation: My Wailord Sub with a different typing on a different Pokemon. Basically, with all of the insane attackers in this pet mod, I think that adding something defensive would be nice. And here is Guzzlord, something with hugely wasted potential. Beast Boost always seemed useless on this thing to me, since it is almost always forced out when it gets a kill. Now it has two great abilities: Immunity allows it to use Rest without any drawbacks, and Unaware is Unaware. Guzzlord is also not restricted to sitting around and doing nothing, as it is able to utilize options like Knock Off, Spikes, Dragon Tail, Parting Shot, and Baneful Bunker.
Morpeko: Broken. √ Keep in mind that Morpeko-Hangry is a separate Pokémon in this meta, but it doesn't affect base Morpeko's Hunger Switch.
Krabby: Broken. √
Guzzlord: Broken. √

ok, so here are mine. i have a tendency of doing them one at a time
and i guess i am also doing all ghost or dark types for this one too? except Espeon, because i want to make Umbreon's counterpart
:swsh/shedinja:
Pokémon: Shedinja
Stats: 20(+19)/120(+30)/45/30/30/90(+50) BST: 325
Type: Bug/Ghost
Abilities: Wonder Guard HA: Phase
New or Buffed Abilities (Optional):
New:
Phase: This Pokémon can only be hit with Not-Very Effective moves. it is immune to any Non-direct damage
Buffed:
Wonder Guard: This Pokémon is also immune to any Non-direct damage
Added Moves (Optional): Spiritual Dance, Guillotine, Destiny Bond
New or Buffed Moves (Optional):
New:
Spiritual Dance: This Pokémon boost its Speed and Physical attack. if it has less then 1/3 of its HP left, it sets up a Destiny Bond
New or Buffed Items (Optional):
New:
Destiny Trigger: It causes Destiny Bond to last for an extra 2 turns
Explanation: Shedinja is now set up to be a sweeper, or just to stall out an opponent that would otherwise kill you. with the Phase ability, it sets it up that you take the least amount of damage while you sweep

:swsh/gengar:
Pokémon: Gengar
Stats: 90(+30)/65/100(+40)/130/100(+25)/110 BST: 595
Type: Steel/Ghost
Abilities: Cursed Body/Levitate HA: Wailing Appearance
New or Buffed Abilities (Optional):
New:
Wailing Appearance: When this Pokémon enters the battlefield, it gets +2 in Special Attack and -1 in Speed
Added Moves (Optional): Flash Cannon, Autotomize
New or Buffed Moves (Optional):
New or Buffed Items (Optional):
New:
Chain And Ball: on Gengar: This causes the effects of this ability to double. All other Pokémon: lowers their speed by 2
Explanation: i will have one later on

:swsh/umbreon:
Pokemon: Umbreon
Stats: 115(+20)/65/130(+20)/100(+40)/130/85(+20) BST: 625
Type: Dark/Ghost
Abilities: Immunity/Synchronize HA: Moonlight Power
New or Buffed Abilities (Optional):
New:
Moonlight Power: This Pokémon's Dark, Ghost, Moon and Eclipse moves deal 20% more damage, and Moonlight heals for double
Added Moves (Optional): Moonblast, Hex, Will-O-Wisp, Eclipsial Strike, Eclipse Dome, Eclipsial Cannon, Eclipsial Absorbance, Moongeist Beam
New or Buffed Moves (Optional):
Buffed:
Hex: it deals double damage even when the opponent is affected by a Volatile Status conditions
New:
Eclipsial Strike: This Pokémon absorbs Sun and Moon energy to collide into the opponent, it has a 20% chance to Burn or put the opponent to Sleep. and it incorporates Steel effectiveness into the Damage calculation. it must recharge next turn. | Type: Ghost, Damage: 140, Accuracy: 80%, Attack Type: Physical
Eclipse Dome: This uses the energy from the Sun and Moon to create a protective shield. it protects this Pokémon and is unbreakable, it also protects from Z-Moves and Max and G-Max moves. its succession rate is halved every turn it is activated in a row. | Type: Ghost, Damage: -, Accuracy: -, Attack Type: Status
Eclipsial Cannon: This Pokémon absorbs Sun and Moon energy to blast a Intense beam at the opponent, it has a 20% chance to Burn or put the opponent to Sleep. and it incorporates Steel effectiveness into the Damage calculation. it must recharge next turn. | Type: Ghost, Damage: 140, Accuracy: 80%, Attack Type: Special
New or Buffed Items (Optional):
Moonlight Key: allows this Pokémon to learn attacks that only Espeon can learn
Explanation: i will have one later
Shedinja: Broken. √
Gengar: Broken. √
Umbreon: Broken, but balanced… 85 is a little fast for a wall.

3 days to revise, if you choose to do so. (Voting on April 25).

Pichu is disqualified for having an original form-changing Ability.
ChoiceScarfed's Cryogonal was submitted after submissions closed (my fault for not mentioning that revision phase meant no more submissions) and is thus disqualified for this slate. HOWEVER, it fits PERFECTLY for the new thread, as the first slate of Mk II will be coming soon! Be sure to watch the thread to stay updated when it opens!

Legal entries for this slate:
The Main Mon: Shedinja, Gengar, Umbreon
ChoiceScarfed: Flareon, Zigzagoon, Wailord
shadowpeashooter: Morpeko, Krabby, Guzzlord
G-Luke: Pikachu*
A Golden Waddle Dee: Mr. Rime
zxgzxg: Blastoise*, Spiritomb*

*not very broken, may be broken further in the future if it wins

Votes are open!
  • Users get 6 votes for Pokemon divided as 1 1st place votes, 2 2nd place votes, 3 3rd place votes. In the spirit of Brokeness you can vote for yourself but only for 2nd or 3rd place and only for 2 pokemon submission.
  • Users get 3 votes for individual moves, items and abilities divided evenly with 1 1st place, 1 2nd place and 1 3rd place. In the spirit of Brokeness you can vote for yourself but only for 2nd or 3rd place and only 1 non-pokemon submission.

Pichu is disqualified for having an original form-changing Ability.
Listen, I'm not trying to start even more shit, but what? Nowhere in the rules says that Pokémon can't have an original form-changing ability. How could it even be illegal?

And to not make this a one-liner, I might as well add to the discussion above.

Anyways, let's just stop guys. So what if OPStellar is running the mod in a poor way? Just avoid it and ignore it. You don't need to vote or spin a wheel, just leave the mod alone. Please.

i hate making one liners but opstellar being in any kind of authority position in any pet mod is a horrible idea
i think [his judgement call on whether giving a form-changing Ability to a Pokémon that didn't already have one should be allowed] is enough to prove my point
I'm asking AdriansLucario for his input on the matter. Voting won't end until he responds.

I'm asking shadowpeashooter as well.
1619648355215.png

Unfortunately, we don't have a straight answer. Discussion will continue.
If both oppose me, then I'll apologize and your entry will be counted.
If both agree with me, then your entry won't be counted.
If one opposes me but the other agrees, then I'll let them decide how to move forward.

…what? Nowhere in the rules says that Pokémon can't have an original form-changing ability. How could it even be illegal?
Thank you for asking. It was not without reason.
We're making things broken, not overcomplicated. We're breaking individual formes, not adding new ones. If we added new ones, then we'd just have to break them all over again.
The reason it is not stated anywhere in the rules is because I didn't write the original post, and I hadn't seen your entry until after shadowpeashooter and I revisited and collaboratively clarified the rules written therein (all of the rules were preserved and made more specific in the new thread; the only thing we rewrote from scratch was the voting system– which we also did collaboratively). Had I seen it sooner, I would have brought it up to shadowpeashooter.

In my honest opinion, if you want to create a form-changing Ability for every Pokémon, that sounds like an awesome idea for a separate pet mod (I imagine something like 'Formes for All'). Personally, I love the idea, but it doesn't fit the vibe of this pet mod, because so far, none of the Pokémon on the few winners from past slates have had a form-changing Ability. In fact, the only submission ever entered with a form-changing Ability until yours was Wishiwashi-School/Solo by Demon Dragon. Considering how this is the first instance of an original form-changing Ability for a Pokémon that didn't have one to begin with, I took these reasons into account to reach my conclusion. Does this help?

Everyone, I am sorry for jumping to a conclusion before consulting the council. If you forgive me, then it will not happen again. I don't want to impair creativity, so I will continue to draw conclusions based on logic, but I commit to consult the council FIRST AND FOREMOST before announcing any final decisions.

kakaks has volunteered to assist with the council. I'll welcome it on one condition, which is based on the one given by both AdriansLucario and shadowpeashooter: Knowledge of how to code new form-changing Abilities for Pokémon whose species did not initially have a form-changing Ability.
The reason we require this is that none of us know how to do it ourselves yet. If we have somebody on the council who does know how, then it would benefit us to know what is possible and what is not, within the realm of form-changing Abilities (be they move-dependent, HP-dependent, or turn-dependent). If you can't provide that, we have no use for you.

Alternatively, you can commit to cease the defamatory remarks. I'm not demanding overt respect, I'm not even asking for an apology; I'd just appreciate it if people stopped pre-judging my leadership when my decisions are based on logic, so if you can commit to not throw any more shade, then I can figure out how to code fresh new form-changing Abilities and you'll be welcome to join the council.

That said, all that remains is the rest of the voting phase. A Golden Waddle Dee's Pichu is reinstated to 'eligible for voting.' Voting for this slate will end on Sunday night.

ChoiceScarfed can submit the Cryogonal entry in the new thread since it was submitted after the deadline and would fit better there anyway. Subs are open for 2 more days there, and the theme is Ice.

Ok, no revolution then.
You are the leader, but we do not grant you the rank of banning things not on the rules without the consent of the council.
Yeah, I butchered the quote, but good luck as the new leader.
I was going to add my votes here but I realized that I already posted them.

This mod is so confusing. Am I allowed to sub my Pikachu of not, and if so, WHERE????
I never said 'you must' in the review, so it's fine being subbed here. I'm just saying that for the future, if it doesn't win in this slate, it'll need to be more broken than you currently have it.

Voting Phase is supposed to be over, but ChoiceScarfed is the only participant who has voted so far albeit only for the 1st and 2nd places.
I have reached out to shadowpeashooter about how to proceed, but gotten no response back.
Voting will extend to Wednesday night. If nobody else has voted by then, I'll vote to break the second place tie and hopefully shadowpeashooter will, too.

Please vote. It's awkward wrapping up a voting phase that's only been half attempted.
