Copyediting BRIAN HANDS (Iron Hands) (GP 0/1)

[OVERVIEW]

* Iron Hands is a strong Pokemon with high Hp and Defense stats allowing it to be an effective switch in to most neutral attacks, and access to a powerful tool in Fake Out. Iron Hands great stats allows it to output consistent pressure as well as being hard to remove. Iron Hands has strong matchups into both Urshifu formes and Tornadus, and its great stats allow it to 1v1 most of the metagame.

* Iron Hands appreciates speed control, so some good partners for it are Farigiraf and Tornadus. The combination of Armor Tail and Trick Room from Farigiraf and Fake Out from Iron Hands allows for an almost guaranteed Trick Room setup, which allows Iron Hands to dish out massive damage with Close Combats and Wild Charges. Tornadus is another good form of Speed Control for Iron Hands, since it can catch opponents off guard and synergizes better with faster offensive partners like Urshifu and Ogerpon-H since their high speed stats do not allow them to function in Trick Room effectively.

* Iron Hands is weak to Pokemon that help mitigate damage like Incineroar and Landorus-T since they can cycle Intimidate. This is a huge detriment for Iron Hands, since it is a Pokemon that likes staying on the field and whittle down its opponents. Lowering its attack stat does not allow it to do its job nearly as well. Iron Hands also has to make a very difficult choice in its held item. Clear Amulet leaves you susceptible to special attackers like Landorus and Flutter mane, while Assault Vest leaves you susceptible to the afformentioned Incineroar and Landorus-T.

[SET]

Bulky Attacker (Iron Hands) @ Clear Amulet
Level: 50
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Grass / Fire
EVs: 92 HP / 156 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out
- Close Combat
- Wild Charge
- Heavy Slam

* Close Combat is picked to allow aan OHKO on Incineror, Wild Charge is used as the most consistent Electric-Type STAB move, and finally Heavy Slam is used as coverage against Flutter Mane and as a strong neutral option.

* Clear Amulet prevents stat drops from opposing Incineroar, allowing Iron Hands to play more offensively.

* The Invested bulk allows Iron Hands to survive a Tera Fairy Dazzling Gleam from Choice Specs Flutter Mane, as well as two Icicle Crashes from Chien-Pao. The rest is invested into Attack.

* Tera Grass is used to resist to Electric resistant Ground- and Grass type foes such as Landorus, Rillaboom, and Ogerpon-W, also providing a powder move immunity from Amoonguss. Tera Fire can also be used to resist Fairy- and Fire type moves from Flutter Mane and Ogerpon-H, however keeps the weakness to Landorus as well as adding a Water-type weakness.

[SET]

Offensive Pivot (Iron Hands) @ Assault Vest
Level: 50
Ability: Quark Drive
EVs: 4 HP / 156 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpD / 92 Spe
Tera Type: Grass
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out
- Drain Punch
- Wild Charge
- Heavy Slam
[SET COMMENTS]

* Drain Punch is used as Assault Vest iron Hands wants to stay on the field, the other moves follow the same logic as the Clear Amulet set.

* The 252 special defense evs are used to minimize the damage taken from threatening special attacks like Earth Power from Landorus or Moonblast from Flutter Mane. The speed is used to outspeed Urshifu and Adamant Ogerpon in Tailwind.

* Assault Vest helps in increasing the Low Special Bulk of Iron Hands and allows it to take supereffective hits better.

* Grass-Tera is used for the same reason as in the Clear Amulet set.

I will eat you for capitalization. Can mark this as QC 1/2 <3.

Add, Remove, Highlight, Comment.

[OVERVIEW]

* Iron Hands is an extremely strong Pokemon offering an immense amount of offense, a defensive switch in to almost everything, and a Fake Out support Pokemon all at once. (Iron Hands isn't an extremely relevant Pokemon rn, recommend rewording the sentence as the format has stuff like Specs Flutter, Urshifu, set up, etc. and its never a support Pokemon, Fake Out is just utility. Also Iron Hands' biggest thing is being a super bulky FO pivot.) Iron Hands is minmaxed extremely well having an extremely low speed and special attack stats, which don't matter as much since it never uses its special attack stat, and its low speed stat (Obvious.) allows it to function well in Trick Room. Iron Hands has a strong matchup into both formes of Urshifu formes (Makes it sound like Torn and Waterpon have other formes.), Tornadus, and Ogerpon-W, since the former 3 are threatened by supereffective damage, and the ladder cannot do enough to Iron Hands.

* Iron Hands is a versatile Pokemon with a lot of options so it can be used with basically anything. (Not really, running Iron Hands is pretty straightforward, Flexible pivot is probably the better word.) Some good partners for it though are Farigiraf to almost guarantee a trick room setup, Amoonguss since Fake Out gives it a free turn to Spore opponents, and the Ogerpon Formes since they benefit from the free turns with Fake Out and offer Follow Me support in return. (Not worth the mention as they appreciate FO about as much as anything else, how do Farigiraf and Amoonguss help Iron Hands? Hint; Trick Room and Flutter Mane.)

* Iron Hands is weak to Pokemon that help mitigate damage like Incineroar and Landorus-T since they can Intimidate cycle it and cause it to do less damage cycle Intimidate (The 'it' reads off weird, woa mitigating damage means it causes it to do less damage.). It is also weak to Pokemon such as Flutter Mane and Landorus-Incarnate (It's the base forme.) since they can both nuke it with Tera-Fairy Moonblast and Earth Power respectively. (Heavy Slam allows Iron Hands to be one of the best Flutter answers, esp with Tera, Amoonguss makes more sense as it can Spore and Redirect it.)

[SET] (Spaces)
Bulky Attacker (Iron Hands) @ Clear Amulet
Level: 50
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Fire / Grass
EVs: 92 HP / 156 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out / Detect
- Close Combat
- Wild Charge
- Heavy Slam / Ice Punch

* Fake Out is used to slow down the momentum of the opponent, Close Combat is the Fighting-Type STAB move of choice since it offers the most damage can OHKO Incineroar, Wild Charge is used over Thunder Punch and Supercell Slam since the former is weaker and the ladder has a 50% recoil can't OHKO Tornadus or Urshifu-R, while the latter has devastating consequences if you hit into protect, and finally Ice Punch is used as coverage against Amoonguss and Landorus-I, and Heavy Slam is used as coverage against Flutter Mane. (This bullet point just had an insane amount of dex info, I know the Base Power and details of the moves, I don't know why they are so good / bad though.)

* Clear Amulet is the item of choice on this set to stop Intimidate and Parting Shot from Incineroar.

* The Attack EVs are used since it hits a jump number giving Iron Hands an extra stat point of attack, the Special Defense is used to minimize the damage taken from threatening special attackers like Flutter Mane, and the HP investment is used to maximize the bulk of Iron Hands. (The Special Defense is to survive Tera Fairy Dazzling Gleam and the defensive investment is to survive two Chien-Pao Icicle Crashes, GP hates atk bumps.)

* The Fire Tera Type is used for a resistance to Fairy- and Fire-Type moves like Moonblast from Flutter Mane and Ivy Cudgel from Ogerpon-F respectively.

[SET]

Offensive Pivot (Iron Hands) @ Assault Vest
Level: 50
Ability: Quark Drive
EVs: 4 HP / 156 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpD / 92 Spe
Tera Type: Grass
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out
- Drain Punch
- Wild Charge
- Ice Punch/Heavy Slam/Volt Switch Heavy Slam / Ice Punch (No one uses Volt Switch, Heavy Slam is a lot more popular.)
[SET COMMENTS]

* Drain Punch is used for recovery and to not reduce your defenses as Assault Vest Iron Hands wants to stick on the field, and Volt Switch is used for a slow pivot.

* Assault Vest helps in increasing the Low Special Bulk of Iron Hands and allows it to take supereffective hits better.

* Tera Grass is used for a resistance to Landorus's Earth Power as well as Grass- and Water-Type moves from Rillaboom, Urshifu-R, and Ogerpon-W, and for an immunity to Spore and Rage Powder from Amoonguss. (Not having your STABs redirected is huge. Bring this up to the top set too.)

Hola, I'll be checking this over again later but looks pre good

[OVERVIEW]

* Iron Hands is a strong Pokemon that offers an immense amount of offense pressure (Does it tho? Its only really good with SE, not really immense amount of pressure), a defensive switch in to most neutral hits (Because?), and Fake Out utility. Iron Hands is minmaxed very well having low speed and special attack stats, which allows it to function well in Trick Room (First, pretty sure mixmaxed is not allowed in GP, but even this flows super awkwardly. Could you say maybe "Iron Hands great stats allow it to output consistent pressure, as well as be difficult to remove" or smh. Also, I dont really like the trick room part, hands is pre much best played on semi room teams, where it can also be good outside or trick room. Can you fit that in?) Iron Hands has a strong matchup into both Urshifu formes, Tornadus, and Ogerpon-W (This feels a lot like restating the type chart, probably the best thing about hands is that its stats allow it to be a great 1v1er, maybe instead of saying the positive mus its good into can you say it can 1v1 most of the metagame thanks to its great stats, recovery and insane coverage, and list a few that its good into), since the former 3 are threatened by supereffective damage, and the ladder cannot do enough to Iron Hands. (First off, its latter not ladder, second is the wogerpon mention even true? It definetly wins the 1v1 against camulet hands with Wild Charge recoil and Horn Leech recovery, and against av its like really really close and its still redirecting attacks)

* Iron Hands is flexible so it can partner with most Pokemon. Some good partners for it though are (First, this should really be 1 sentence, you dont state something then go straight into "However" or "Though". Second, why is it flexible? A lot of readers probably wont get that) Farigiraf for Trick Room support (Sure, but I think your glossing over this as fig is like the number 1 partner for Hands. Fig isen't just providing tr support, hands helps set up trick room and is a great threat inside of it), and Amoonguss since Pollen Puff heals Iron Hands up and Rage Powder redirects powerful Fairy-Type moves away from Iron Hands such as Flutter Mane Moonblast. (Amoonguss was on like, 1/8 of Hands teams in pre much every regional since reg f, can you mention Ogerpon-H or Tornadus as partners instead? They are probs the second most common with Hands specifically)

* Iron Hands is weak to Pokemon that help mitigate damage like Incineroar and Landorus-T since they can cycle Intimidate (This is a far bigger deal than you make it seem, if your forced to give up your best item in AV just to be immune to Incin, elaborate that its a generally slower paced mon that stays on the field for a while so the attack drop severely lowers its effectiveness). It is also weak to Pokemon such as Landorus-Incarnate since it can nuke it with supereffective Earth Power. (This is just the type chart, like yeah obviously no pokemon likes being ohkoed and comes across like if your running camulet the only weakness is lando I. Can you come up with another reason why Hands isen't particularly common? You can keep this if you want, but at least explain how its typing has a poor mu into many top threats)

[SET]

Bulky Attacker (Iron Hands) @ Clear Amulet
Level: 50
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Fire/Grass Grass / Fire Grass is the more popular choice that Fire, its like double the usage and even on camulet teams its like 60/40
EVs: 92 HP / 156 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out / Detect Who gives up Fake Out for Detect bro ;-;
- Close Combat
- Wild Charge
- Heavy Slam / Ice Punch Ice Punch was on 1/16 and 1/25 teams in Utrecht and Dortmund, even on ladder a lot you dont see it.

* Close Combat is the Fighting-Type STAB move of choice since it can OHKO Incineroar is picked to allow for an OHKO on Incineroar, while Wild Charge is used over Thunder Punch and Supercell Slam since the former cannot OHKO Tornadus and Urshifu-R and the latter has devastating consequences used as the most consistent/highest base power Electric-type move., (RC) (AP) and finally Ice Punch is used as coverage against Amoonguss and Landorus-I, and Heavy Slam is used as coverage against Flutter Mane and as a generally strong neutral option. (Trimming, you can pick whichever option for Wild Charge or choose your own. If its not on the set, no need to mention it as we already know its not viable. If you mention Fake Out in the overview, no need to do it here I think)

* Clear Amulet prevents stat drops from opposing Incineroar, allowing Iron Hands to play more offensively. is the item of choice on this set to stop Intimidate and Parting Shot from Incineroar.

* The Special Defense is to survive Tera Fairy Dazzling Gleam and the defensive investment is to survive two Chien-Pao Icicle Crashes. The Invested bulk allows Iron Hands to survive a Tera Fairy Dazzling Gleam from Choice Specs Flutter Mane, as well as two Icicle Crashes from Chien-Pao. The rest is invested into Attack. (More clear, also you diden't say dazzling gleam from what lmao)

* The Fire-Tera Type is used for a resistance to Fairy- and Fire-Type moves like Moonblast from Flutter Mane and Ivy Cudgel from Ogerpon-F respectively. Tera Grass is used for a resistance to Landorus's Earth Power as well as Grass- and Water-Type moves from Rillaboom, Urshifu-R, and Ogerpon-W, and for an immunity to Spore and Rage Powder from Amoonguss.
Tera Grass is used to resist to Electric resistant Ground- and Grass type foes such as Landorus, Rillaboom, and Ogerpon-W, also providing a powder move immunity from Amoonguss. Tera Fire can also be used to resist Fairy- and Fire type moves from Flutter Mane and Ogerpon-H, however keeps the weakness to Landorus as well as adding a Water-type weakness. (Nothing rly wrong with the above, just changing order and phrasing)

[SET]

Offensive Pivot (Iron Hands) @ Assault Vest
Level: 50
Ability: Quark Drive
EVs: 4 HP / 156 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpD / 92 Spe
Tera Type: Grass
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out
- Drain Punch
- Wild Charge
- Heavy Slam/Ice Punch
[SET COMMENTS]

* Drain Punch is used as Assault Vest iron Hands wants to stay on the field.

* Assault Vest helps in increasing the Low Special Bulk of Iron Hands and allows it to take supereffective hits better.

(Come on ;-; Keep the same format as the above, if stuffs the same at least say that it follows the same logic as the Camulet set. I'll check this later)
