:ho-oh: Book of Enigmas :lugia:

:entei: Introduction :moltres:

Welcome, one and all, to Book of Enigmas! This Pet Mod is focussed around creating Paradox Pokemon, but with a twist! Instead of creating Paradox Pokemon centred around the past and the present, like in Scarlet and Violet, we'll be making Paradox Pokemon centred around Johto: the sky and the sea, rainbows and storms, restoration and corruption, representing Ho-oh and Lugia!

The metagame will consist of HGSS's regional dex, as well as all crossgen evolutions, swarm Pokemon, and regional formes! Paradox Pokemon from Scarlet and Violet will not feature in this metagame

:raikou: Submission Process :zapdos:

Each slate, you can submit a maximum of four Pokemon that come from our regional dex: two sky-based paradoxes and two sea-based paradoxes. These slates may or may not feature a prompt to base your submission around, which may call for a certain type, role, or for a pair of sky and sea paradoxes to be submitted. Voting will be split into sky-based and sea-based as well; you may vote for as many submissions as you'd like. Note that you do not have to vote submissions in as pairs, unless the slate specifically calls for it

:suicune: Submission Guidelines :articuno:

These guidelines must be followed, failure to do so will result in your submission being vetoed
  • All submissions must have 570 BST - submissions that use mega Pokémon may use 590 BST, but it’s recommended that these types of submissions are made sparingly
  • All sky & sea paradox submissions must use their respective custom abilities
  • All sky paradox submissions must have odd-numbered stats, while all sea paradox submissions must have even-numbered stats
  • Submissions must use Pokémon from HGSS’ regional dex + swarm mons (ie. you can use Typhlosion, since it’s in HGSS’s dex, but you cannot use Corviknight)
  • Movepools will be assumed to be from the original Pokémon’s movepool, unless specified

We also have a submission template, though you are not required to use this

:teddiursa: Ema Skye (incomparably worse at funny flavour text than our supreme overlord )
:donphan: Gekokeso (Sacrificed 80 swans to the supreme overlord to get the position)
:slither-wing: Regic Boat (the wins were gourgillion)
:wo-chien: Bloopyghost (definitively less cool and talented than the supreme overlord)
(The supreme overlord has been usurped. Everyone’s flavour text is now nonsensical. apart from Regic’s ig)
also btw i didn’t choose everyone’s funny flavour text, they all choose to write those things and I had no say in it at all x

:unown-question: Resources, Links and Additional Notes :unown-question:

  • Book of Enigmas will use gen 9 mechanics, including Tera. If Tera is found to be broken after playtesting, it will be banned
  • We currently plan to have 10 slates, not including Slate 0
  • Custom moves are allowed. For Slate 0, custom abilities will be submitted - custom items may also be submitted, so long as they only interact with the custom ability (like Booster Energy)
Custom abilities to be used throughout the mod can be found below:
Paradox: sky
Ability: Cleansing Fire
Effect: When a Pokemon faints, this Pokemon's status is cured.

Paradox: sea
Ability: Corrupting Storm
Effect: When this Pokemon is KOed by another Pokemon, the attacker loses 1/8 max HP every turn until it switches out.

:ho-oh: Slate 0: The Beginning :lugia:

And so we begin! Our first slate is a special one, as there are a few basic
things to iron out before we start submitting paradoxes

1. Custom Abilities :suicune:
Similarly to how all Scarlet Paradoxes have Protosynthesis as their ability and Violet Paradoxes have Quark Drive,
our own Paradox Pokemon will have their own signature abilities! However, as our paradoxes
will be centred around the sky and the sea, rather than future and past,
it stands to reason that they will have different abilities to Scarlet and Violet's

Submissions will consist of a pair of custom abilities, focussed around Ho-oh and Lugia's themes
of sky, rainbows and restoration, and sea, storms and corruption respectively. These abilities
are a crucial part of the mod, as they'll dictate how every submission from here on will be designed, so
keep that in consideration!

Additionally, as Protosynthesis and Quark Drive can be activated by the item Booster Energy, you may
have your custom ability also be activated by Booster Energy. Alternatively, you are also allowed to create up one
custom item for each ability that interacts with it in some way. This item doesn't have to be
consumable, but if it isn't then we highly recommend that you balance around that! Remember that
all submissions will have at least 570 BST.
Your abilities do not have to interact with Booster Energy nor feature a custom item

Using this template is not required!

2. Prefixes :articuno:
Just as Violet Paradox Pokemon all feature "Iron-" as a prefix, Book of Enigma paradoxes
may feature their own prefix!

You may submit up to two prefixes - two sky, two sea, one sky and one sea, its up to you!
There's a soft limit of 7 characters, but it's preferred that you try and stick to
shorter prefixes. When it comes to voting, you'll be allowed to vote for No Prefix
if none of the submitted prefixes stick out to you or if you don't want to see a prefix

Note that only one prefix will be voted in
Using this template is not required!

Paradox: Sky

While this slate goes on, we'll be busy getting our resources ready, coding the metagame and playtesting
everything; if you haven't already, then feel free to join our Discord server btw! So please be patient as we
work everything out, and welcome to Book of Enigmas!

First posting time

Prefix: Sacred
Paradox: Sky
Description: Based on Ho-oh's signature move of Sacred Fire.

Prefix: Emaispoo
Paradox: Sea
Description: Based on Lugia being the Guardian of the Sea. On me having to change the prefix since Ema also decided to post Tidal >:(

Name: Ashen Aegis
Paradox: Sky
Effect: This Pokemon gains 1/16 health when hit by a Not Very Effective move. When (insert signature item) is held, the Pokemon recovers 33% of its health when hit by a Not Very Effective move and item is consumed.
Description: Item effect can be pretty deadly but its mostly situational. I imagine the Sky paradoxes to be some sort of guardians of shrines or towers just like Ho-oh is. Effect is small, but simple enough that both offensive mons and defensive mons can find a bit of use to it. Name based on Ho-oh's Sacred Ashes item and its effect assimilates Ho-oh's regenerator.

Name: Whirl Wanderer
Paradox: Sea
Effect: This Pokemon gains a 0.1 boost to its defenses each time it is hit by a move used consecutively, resets on switch in. When (insert signature item) is held, the Pokemon takes 25% less damage if hit at full health and item is consumed.
Description: Reverse metronome effect. It is mostly a defensive effect but with right positioning even offensive mons can take advantage of it. I imagine the Sea paradoxes to be wanderers due to the movement of the Whirl Islands and how that remains the home of Lugia. Name based on the Whirl Islands and its effect assimilates Lugia's multiscale.

Ability: Light Power
is a Pre-Contributor
Prefix: Tragic
Paradox: Sea
Description: While there is the well beloved ”cycle of life and death”, the storm, aka the tragedy, tend to go for a cynical, permanent end if not stopped. Tragic Pokémon are corrupt by the power of the storm, taking the people with them by setting themselves their own fate; all have to come to an end. Lugia have to seal them away to put a stop of their rampage.
Examples: Tragic Cloud, Tragic Face, Tragic Sleep, Tragic Anger, Tragic Vanity, Tragic Malice, Tragic Fiend

Prefix: Soul
Paradox: Sea
Description: Refers to Soul Silver, as well as having a “soul” enlightened by the gentler side of the ocean, becoming the smaller guardians of the sea alongside their master, Lugia.
Examples: Soul Friend, Soul Wings, Soul Aura, Soul Melody, Soul Dancer, Soul Duo

Prefix: Gilded
Paradox: Sea
Description: Referring to gilded silver and the silver wing

Prefix: Holo
Paradox: Sky
Description: Short for holographic, which in this context, means anything with a illuminescent pattern that diffuses light in rainbow patterns.

Prefix: Holy
Paradox: Sky
Description: Kinda like Sacred (i.e. "Blessed by Ho-Oh"; Sacred Fire) but shorter for convinience

Ability: Photon Phoenix
Paradox: Sky
Effect: Whenever another Pokémon faints, heals 1/4 of max HP. If holding [booster energy equivalent], instantly heals 1/4 HP and consumes the item, unless user is at max HP.
Uses: soon

Ability: Shadow Shaman
Paradox: Sea

Gunning for the top

UUPL Champion
Name: Riptide
Paradox: Sea
Effect: Status immunity at full health or if holding Booster Energy. Booster Energy is consumed after use. Get protosynthesis boost once per switch-in if the status immunity activates.
Description: Meant to have an interesting matchup against Renewal, gives Sea Paradox mons status protection which is always appreciated, though those that would mind status less can still get a useful stat boost out of it.

Name: Renewal
Paradox: Sky
Effect: Restores 1/6 HP when statusing an opposing mon or if holding Booster Energy while below full health. Booster Energy is consumed after use. Get protosynthesis boost once per switch-in if the health restoration effect activates.
Description: Meant to have an interesting matchup with Riptide, gives Sky Paradox mons an option to recover some health while spreading utility, seems more useful for defensive mons though can also have some related use for offensive mons using an offensive mon with a high chance to status or for sets using a combo like Wisp+Hex.

Might make more later but I had a really cool idea that I need to get out before I go to bed:
Prefix: Reborn
Paradox: Sky
Description: What if, like the Suicunes, Raikous, and Enteis of the world, Pokémon affected by Ho-oh were resurrected by it. (ex. Reborn Spark, Reborn Flame, Reborn Will)

Ok now to bullshit make something that matches up with that
Prefix: Turbulent
Paradox: Sea
Description: Lugia is described as holding great power, yet being peaceful nonetheless. What if those touched by Lucia’s grace gained its power, but none of its control. Perhaps their respective abilities can take the affected mons turbulent natures. (ex. Turbulent Beetle, Turbulent Sleeper, Turbulent Scales)

Abilities:
Name: Aurum Ashes
Paradox: Sky
Effect: If the opposing Pokemon has a non-volatile status condition, this Pokemon's highest stat is multiplied by 1.3, or by 1.5 if the highest stat is Speed.
Description: Inspired by Sacred Fire. Works best late-game; Sky paradox wallbreakers can pump out great damage with team support or sweep on their own should they have enough Speed as well as access to status infliction. On the other hand, Sky paradox walls can rlly appreciate the boost in bulk as walls often carry status infliction to make progress anyway. Sky paradoxes with high Speed become strong cleaners against statused teams as well. Since Raikou is likely to be the meta's premier offensive Electric and Suicune should be decent either way, I figure it'd be nice to throw Entei a bone and give it a niche as a teammate for Sky paradoxes.

Name: Argent Aegis
Paradox: Sea
Effect: When this Pokemon has 3/4 or more of its maximum HP, rounded down, this Pokemon's highest stat is multiplied by 1.3, or by 1.5 if the highest stat is Speed.
Description: Inspired by Multiscale. Works best early-game; Sea paradox wallbreakers get an immediate damage or Speed boost while walls and tanks get a ton of mileage out of the extra bulk. However, Sea paradoxes must carefully maintain their HP if they wanna keep their boosts. Great ability on anything with recovery ofc.

Custom Item:

Name: Booster Crystal
Paradox: None
Can Be Knocked Off?: Yes
Is It Consumable?: Yes
Fling Power & Effect: 80 BP, no effect
Effect: Activates the Aurum Ashes or Argent Aegis abilities if the holder has 1/2 or less of its maximum HP, rounded down. Does not activate if these abilities are already active.
Description: I personally feel that Booster Energy is a tad to easy to abuse so when it comes too the Sea and Sky equivalent, I wanted to give my item some kind of caveat and I think this is a simple way to do it. Booster Crystal basically works like Salac Berry and its counterparts, tho proccing at a higher HP threshold since it activates abilities rather than giving a true stat boost. Thought it would be cute to have the item homage Pokemon Crystal since it's the third version to Gold and Silver.

i'mma leave prefixes up to you guys

Abilities:
Name: Tidal Soul
Paradox: Sea
Effect: Under Trick Room or while holding Feather Bell: damage taken is reduced by 25%; Water immunity (nullified by Telekinesis/Bounce).

Name: Clear Heart
Paradox: Sky
Effect: Under Tailwind or while holding Feather Bell: 1/4 HP is restored upon switching out; Ground immunity (nullified by Gravity/Ingrain/Smackdown).

Description: they're inspired by the two hidden abilities of the legendaries, and I'm using Trick Room and Tailwind because they have two effects that are kind of specular, and they use the two typings of the legendaries. They also reflect two different approaches to teambuilding, one is more bulk-oriented, helping the active Pokémon tank a hit and then attack (which can help in case Trick Room is not active), while the other wants a more fast-switch team, where they boost eachother's Speed while recovering some HP when switching out. This can help to balance with Paradox forms that play along with their mechanic (Tailwind or Trick Room) and others that need to use the item to work at their best. Names are inspired by the two bells used to summon Lugia and Ho-oh, the Tidal Bell and the Clear Bell, plus the remake names, Heart Gold and Soul Silver.

Custom Item:

Name: Feather Bell
Paradox: both (Sea and Sky)
Can Be Knocked Off? (Yes or No): Yes
Is It Consumable (Yes or No): No
Fling Power & Effect: 40 BP, no effect
Effect: Activates the abilities Tidal Guard and Clear View. Held item.
Description: The effects given by the abilities are meant to be used for the entire match, so there isn't much sense in consuming the item after first use, since the abilities are already a nerfed version of Multiscale and Regenerator, plus a type immunity (that fits flavour-wise and kinda makes up for the lack of item and the ability nerf).

Prefix:
Prefix: Deep Sea
Paradox: Sea
Description: Lugia is the governor of the underwater realm, but "Underwater" is too long and kinda lame, so inspired by Deep Sea Diva from YGO, I've chosen this prefix. Every one of these Pokemon has developed a way to survive at the highest pressures possible under the sea level, so they've adapted to a slow life in a dark enviroment, with very few visits from the upper levels. Humans discovered those Pokemon after they developed the technology sufficient to allow them to go under so much pressure, and they encountered a whole new parallel world, untouched by mankind and by also most creatures alive. I imagine most of them will get either the Water or the Ghost type (as most of Iron-mons get Steel or Electric), but some of them will get the Dark, Bug or Psychic types as well.
Example Names: Deep Sea Hunter, Deep Sea Diver, Deep Sea Tank, Deep Sea Spikes, Deep Sea Branch
Example Pokemon: Relicanth, Clamperl/Gorebyss/Huntail, Kabuto/Kabutops, Omanyte/Omastar, Cradily/Lileep, Anorith/Armaldo

Prefix: none (it's just to talk about the other kind of Pokemon)
Paradox: Sky
Description: The first discoveries of sky Paradox forms happened thanks to a satellite, that bumped into one of them while soaring in the upper layers of the atmosphere. And then the scientist discovered a whole new ecosystem of Pokémon that have developed a method to fly so high that any other living species is below them (except Rayquaza and Ho-oh). I think each of them could use a different method to fly, either giant wings, propulsion or flotation, and this can be reached by different means, so we'll be able to use either Flying, Fire, Psychic, Ghost, Electric, or many others.
Example Pokemon: Drifblim, Altaria, Whimsicott, Jumpluff

Prefix: Golden
Paradox: Sky

Prefix: Silver
Paradox: Sea
Description: Super low hanging fruit, but it just works. Golden and Silver obviously reference the games Ho-Oh and Lugia come from, but also represent the sky and the sea themselves, with the golden light coming from the sky, and the sea shimmering in silver. Plus, in my mind these names would make sense with potential designs, at least for Gold Paradoxes, as they could take on a form similar to how Ho-Oh was golden in its first anime appearance.

Name: Burning Heart
Paradox: Sky
Effect: This Pokemon gains a Flash Fire-like effect for moves of its primary type when hit by a Fire-type attack. This Pokémon cannot be burned. If Booster Energy is held, the Flash Fire-like effect is given, but only as a 1.2x boost instead of 1.5x.
Description: Flash Fire-like effect inspired by me just now fighting a Baxcalibur in-game and thinking that a burn-proof ability makes a lot of sense for Pokemon that interact with Ho-Oh. Originally was Thermal Exchange but for the highest stat, but this makes more sense with Booster Energy. Any Pokemon can benefit from being burn-proof, while the boost to its primary typing is just a nice bonus.

Name: Sunken Soul
Paradox: Sea
Effect: This Pokemon gains a Flash Fire-like effect for moves of its primary type when hit by a Water-type attack. This Pokémon cannot be paralyzed. If Booster Energy is held, the Flash Fire-like effect is given, but only as a 1.3x boost instead of 1.5x, and the item is consumed.
Description: Same thing as Ho-Oh but for Water moves, which makes the effect a little worse as Water moves aren't as common without Scald distribution (assuming we're using Gen 9 Learnsets), but it's still pretty nice and para-immunity is legitimately huge.

Name: Rainbow Burn
Paradox: Sky
Effect: This Pokemon's highest stat is boosted by 10% for each teammate with a status condition. Speed boosts have no effect unless all 5 allies are share a type. The stat boosted is announced on switch in. This Pokemon ignores the effects of paralysis (its speed is unchanged and it cannot miss a turn due to paralysis).
Description: Rainbows (of pain)

Ability:
Name: Silver Tempest
Paradox: Sea
Effect: This Pokemon's highest stat is boosted by 10% for each teammate that it shares a type with. Speed boosts have no effect unless all 5 allies are share a type. The stat boosted is announced on switch in. This ability activates the Silver Bell item.
Description: Opposite of the rainbow (Lugia is white which is the absence of color)

Custom Item:
Name: Rainbow Feather
Paradox (if applicable): Sky
Can Be Knocked Off? (Yes or No): Yes
Is It Consumable (Yes or No): Yes
Fling Power & Effect: 10 and burn

Name: Silver Bell
Paradox (if applicable): (sky, sea, or none) Sea
Can Be Knocked Off? (Yes or No): Yes
Is It Consumable (Yes or No): Yes
Fling Power & Effect: 20 and cures foe's status

Description: Get that mono type going.

Prefix: Prism
Paradox: Sky

Crystals are a thing (both Pokémon Crystal and the Crystal Pokémon from the TCG), and prisms in particular also invoke rainbows. Prism's nice and snappy, which much like Iron applies less pressure to the second word.

Look, I'm just good as long as I get to name a Paradox Remoraid as Silver Bullet.

Description: This Pokemon has a connexion to the ocean's spirit.

Name: Rain Arrows

Yo. It's time for vetoes.
Ability: Golden Wish
Paradox: Sky
Effect: When this pokemon switches in, its highest stat is boosted by 1 stage

Ability: Silver Dream
Paradox: Sea
Effect: When this pokemon is at full HP, its STAB moves boost its highest stat by 1 stage
Golden Wish is a clone of Intrepid Sword/Dauntless Shield but can affect any stat. While such an ability is not inherently broken, I'm afraid it is simply too much when Paradoxes must have a BST of either 570 or 590. Council suggests changing the boosts to a 1.3x boost and a 1.5x boost for Speed (much like Protosynthesis and Quark Drive) and then have them last for a single turn.

Silver Dream is an extremely powerful ability that lets wallbreakers snowball out of control a bit too easily even with the full HP restriction. Council recommends applying the suggested nerfs for Golden Dream to this ability (1.3x boost and a 1.5x boost for Speed and have these boosts last for a single turn). Since the boost would not stack, this removes the snowballing effect the ability currently has.

Name: Rainbow Feel
Paradox: Sky
Effect: If you are holding a Dual Pendant, you delete it and gain +30% in your highest stat.
Description: This Pokemon has a connection to the life's spirit.

Name: Sea You Soon
Paradox: Sea
Effect: If you are holding a Dual Pendant, you delete it and gain +30% in your highest stat.
Description: This Pokemon has a connexion to the ocean's spirit.

Name: Dual Pendant
Paradox : none
Can Be Knocked Off? :yes
Is It Consumable :yes
Fling Power & Effect: 150 BP, the target gains + 3 in its highest stat
Effect: None.
Description: A powerful item, that send vibes of serenity and wildness.

Name: Fire Hydrant
Paradox : Sea
Can Be Knocked Off? : Yes
Is It Consumable : Yes
Fling Power & Effect: 70 BP, switches the target out
Effect: When this Pokemon falls under 50% health, this triggers. At the end of the turn, 50% health is restored and holder's switches out.
Description: Huh, if they had this they could prevent the tower from burning. Same here, it prevents you from dying.

Name: Bird Seeds
Paradox : Sky
Can Be Knocked Off? : Yes
Is It Consumable : Yes
Fling Power & Effect: 1 BP, heals full life, remove status, restores PPs. (of the target)
Effect: If the holder faints, you survive at 33% and you don't move this turn.
Description: This item is findable once in the game so can't be put on more than one mon. You use Seeds to attract Ho-Oh and he thanks you by resurrecting you. You can't move because it wouldn't be easy to sweep like that...

Name: Rain Arrows
Paradox : Sky
Can Be Knocked Off? : Yes
Is It Consumable : No
Fling Power & Effect: 90 BP, burns over status. (burns a toxic'd mon)
Effect: If the holder has Rainbow Feel, its Fire moves has x1.5 power
Description: If there's a rain bow, there should be rain arrows. So I expect there are now Fire Paradoxes.

Name: Nostalgia Tear
Paradox : Sea
Can Be Knocked Off? : Yes
Is It Consumable : No
Fling Power & Effect: 90 BP, paralyses over status. (paralyses a toxic'd mon)
Effect: If the holder has Rainbow Feel, its Psychic moves has x1.5 power
Description: Lugeo in latin means "complain". So I wanted to add some tears related to Lugia.
Oh boy
Please change your abilities so that they grant a 1.5x boost to Speed. Speed tiers are an essential part of any metagame and in the scenarios where a Speed stat is altered outside of a direct stat change, Speed is always altered using 0.5x or 1.5x. A 1.3x boost to Speed would be awful to deal with for Speed tiers. This also makes it consistent with Protosynthesis and Quark Drive, those abilities raise Speed by 1.5x for a reason.

You are only allowed to sub either one item that interacts with both abilities or two items that interact with one of the abilities each. Seeing as you have subbed five items, we'll narrow it down for you by completely vetoing Fire Hydrant and Bird Seed. Not only are the effects of Fire Hydrant and Bird Seed very uncompetitive, they do not interact with your abilities so they are not following slate rules. Your options now are to either keep Dual Pendant or keep both Rain Arrows and Nostalgia Tear.

If you keep Dual Pendent, please mention its interaction with your abilities in its description. Two out of five council members were confused by its lack of a description.

These are dumb. Vetoed.

Gonna give these subbers a 48 hour warning to fix their vetoes. Everyone else also has 48 hours to finish their subs. Peace!

Prefix:
Prefix: Renewed
Paradox: Sky
Description: Ho-oh restores creatures, renewing their life. Another, weaker reason for this is that seeing a blue sky or a rainbow renews some people's mental state, restoring their sanity.

Prefix: Murky
Paradox: Sea
Description: Murky water is often associated with deep seas and storms, and murky is another term for tarnished, as in tarnished silver. This is a nod to the base game and also that corruption aspect, as making silver murky is kind of a way of corrupting it. Also, silver tarnishes and becomes more murky in water.

Yo. jazzmat's and Turtlek's subs are fixed. Subs are closed and Craterquag's subs remain vetoed shame on you. Without further ado, voting is now open! Sub compilation below:

Name: Charchemy
Paradox: Sky
Effect: If the foe is statused, user's attacks heal 33% of damage dealt.
Description: An ability for synergy with status spreaders, for instance Sacred Fire.

Name: Cychemy
Paradox: Sea
Effect: If the user outspeeds the foe, they have an increased critical hit ratio.
Description: Promoting Tailwind usage with a reference to Aeroblast.
Ability: Golden Wish
Paradox: Sky
Effect: When under tailwind or holding booster energy, the user's highest stat is multiplied by 1.3x, if the highest stat is speed it is boosted by 1.5x

Ability: Silver Dream
Paradox: Sea
Effect: When in rain or holding booster energy, the user's highest stat is multiplied by 1.3x, if the highest stat is speed it is boosted by 1.5x
Paradox: sky
Prefix: Pure
Ability: Cleansing Fire
Effect: When a Pokemon faints, this Pokemon's status is cured.
Description:

Paradox: sea
Prefix: Shadow
Ability: Corrupting Storm
Effect: When this Pokemon is KOed by another Pokemon, the attacker loses 1/8 max HP every turn until it switches out.
Description:
Ability: Photon Phoenix
Paradox: Sky
Effect: Whenever another Pokémon faints, heals 1/4 of max HP. If holding [booster energy equivalent], instantly heals 1/4 HP and consumes the item, unless user is at max HP.
Uses: soon

Ability: Shadow Shaman
Paradox: Sea
Effect: If attacking a target with 50% max HP or higher, target will lose 1/8 HP per turn afterwards. If holding [booster energy equivalent], applies the effect to the first Pokémon it attacks and consumes the item, unless the target was already at the required HP.
Uses: soon

Description: I personally feel that Booster Energy is a tad too easy to abuse so when it comes to the Sea and Sky equivalent, I wanted to give my item some kind of caveat and I think this is a simple way to do it. Booster Crystal basically works like Salac Berry and its counterparts, tho proccing at a higher HP threshold since it activates abilities rather than giving a true stat boost. Thought it would be cute to have the item homage Pokemon Crystal since it's the third version to Gold and Silver.

Ability:

Effect: On switch in, this Pokemon becomes paralyzed.
Description: Good way to get some more mileage out of the ability.

Name: Silver Bell
Paradox (if applicable): (sky, sea, or none) Sea
Can Be Knocked Off? (Yes or No): Yes
Is It Consumable (Yes or No): Yes
Fling Power & Effect: 20 and cures foe's status
Effect: On switch in, the Pokemon replaces its type with its tera type (like Soak) when held by a Pokemon with Silver Tempest
Description: Get that mono type going.
Name: Rainbow Feel
Paradox: Sky
Effect: The owner is immune to sprit moves (Oblivious clone), gains +30 in Defs under Sun.
Description: This Pokemon has a connection to the life's spirit.

Name: Sea You Soon
Paradox: Sea
Effect: The user takes 50% on wind moves, gains +30% Atks under Rain.
Description: This Pokemon has a connexion to the ocean's spirit.

Name: Rain Arrows
Paradox : Sky
Can Be Knocked Off? : Yes
Is It Consumable : No
Fling Power & Effect: 90 BP, burns over status. (burns a toxic'd mon)
Effect: If the holder has Rainbow Feel/another Sky thing, its Fire moves has x1.5 power
Description: If there's a rain bow, there should be rain arrows. So I expect there are now Fire Paradoxes.

Name: Nostalgia Tear
Paradox : Sea
Can Be Knocked Off? : Yes
Is It Consumable : No
Fling Power & Effect: 90 BP, paralyses over status. (paralyses a toxic'd mon)
Effect: If the holder has Sea You Soon/another Sea thing, its Psychic moves has x1.5 power
Description: Lugeo in latin means "complain". So I wanted to add some tears related to Lugia.
First posting time

Prefix: Sacred
Paradox: Sky
Description: Based on Ho-oh's signature move of Sacred Fire.

Prefix: Emaispoo
Paradox: Sea
Description: Based on Lugia being the Guardian of the Sea. On me having to change the prefix since Ema also decided to post Tidal >:(
Prefix: Tragic

Prefix: Radiant
Paradox: Sky
Description: To describe something glowing brightly, rather fitting of stuff based around Ho-Oh’s Rainbows
Examples: Radiant Star, Radiant Wings, Radiant Blaze

Prefix: Argent
Paradox: Sea
Description: Literally a synonym for Silver, just kinda sounds cool.
Examples: Argent Cutter, Argent Glades, Argent Tempest
Prefix: Chromatic
Paradox: Sky
Description: Referring to rainbows/the rainbow wing

Prefix: Gilded
Paradox: Sea
Description: Referring to gilded silver and the silver wing
Prefix: Holo
Paradox: Sky
Description: Short for holographic, which in this context, means anything with a illuminescent pattern that diffuses light in rainbow patterns.

Prefix: Holy
Paradox: Sky
Description: Kinda like Sacred (i.e. "Blessed by Ho-Oh"; Sacred Fire) but shorter for convinience
Prefix: Reborn
Paradox: Sky
Description: What if, like the Suicunes, Raikous, and Enteis of the world, Pokémon affected by Ho-oh were resurrected by it. (ex. Reborn Spark, Reborn Flame, Reborn Will)

Prefix: Ashen
Paradox: Sky
Description: Sacred Ash

Prefix: Tidal
Paradox: Sea
Description: Tidal Bell
Prefix: Prism
Paradox: Sky

Crystals are a thing (both Pokémon Crystal and the Crystal Pokémon from the TCG), and prisms in particular also invoke rainbows. Prism's nice and snappy, which much like Iron applies less pressure to the second word.

This is my first time compiling subs so if I missed anything; yell at me on my wall, DMs or ping @Gloopy Bloopy#7999. And here's the voting format:

Ability Pair:
Prefix:

Rank your favorite subs in order; 1st rank gets 3 points, 2nd rank gets 2 points and all ranks below that get 1 point. You are allowed to self-vote, just not in 1st rank (the highest you can self-vote is 2nd). Votes for the ability pair should be usernames, while votes for the prefix will just be prefixes.

Remember that only one prefix will be voted in and you have the option of voting for No Prefix.
Good luck everyone!
