Challenging the Mystery Jungle

Pokemon #1: Padauk the Garganacl:garganacl:
Pokemon Background: Ever since Padauk was a Nacli, he has been extremely fascinated with the natural world and all of the plants, fungi and creatures within. For days before meeting Gemini, he would sit down and watch all of the Pokemon pass by, or look up at the clouds. Despite his massive size and power, Padauk is reluctant to use his strength unless it is absolutely necessary. Does not speak.
Pokemon Helpful Quality: Unstartled by natural phenomena (weather, rockfalls, etc.).
Pokemon Detrimental Quality: Refuses violence except in the face of danger.
Title: Forager
Title Helpful Quality: Great at finding and identifying useful plants in the wild.
Title Detrimental Quality: Forgets which berries are poisonous.

Pokemon #2: Avens the Muk:muk:
Pokemon Background: Despite thriving on toxic waste and sludge, Avens has never been a fan of staying in the city, wanting to escape to nature whenever possible. It is an unfamiliar world to him, but he is willing to learn with the help from his allies.
Pokemon Helpful Quality: Eager to explore.
Pokemon Detrimental Quality: Frightened easily by rustling leaves and branches.
Title: Artist
Title Helpful Quality: Skilled Artist, carries painting supplies.
Title Detrimental Quality: Obsessed with the beauty of nature.

Level 1, CR 0

RP Segment 1:

If rumors are to be believed, then there exists somewhere within a certain jungle an ancient and cursed relic. Shaped like an ornamental vase and covered in strange insignia, it is said to house some kind of evil within... and would undoubtedly be worth a lot of money! Pokemon Battling isn't the most lucrative job in the world, so any chance at easy money (even a dubious one) is worth pursuing.

From the outset, taking a couple of nature-loving Pokemon for a jungle expedition seemed like a no-brainer. But now, with three hours of grueling, mud-covered terrain behind you and an insurmountable 20-meter-wide chasm in front of you, you are beginning to wonder if you should have brought a Flying-Type Pokemon or two.

Gemini Taurus how will your party respond to the chasm blocking your path?

"This is certainly a precarious situation, but I think we may have a way across! Padauk, I need you to start by taking a bunch of large slabs of ice out of the ground with Avalanche. Avens will help you carry them over to the chasm with Strength! Once we've got our building materials ready, use Salt Cure to lower the melting point of the top layer of ice and allow it to freeze to the ground, from then on, we'll carefully do the same, adding one slab of ice to the next using Salt Cure!

It may sound precarious, but with these massive slabs of ice, their cooling power, should work well in tandem with the salt to create an icy bridge. From there, its just a careful, but quick walk across!"

:garganacl:: Padauk will use Avalanche to create slabs of ice from the ground and Salt Cure to freeze those slabs of ice to the ground and to each other, creating a bridge across the chasm.
:muk:: Avens will use Strength to help carry the slabs of ice to the chasm.

You find the effects of Salt Cure to be a little bit counter-productive -- although the salt is very effective at melting the ice, it also seems to prevent the ice from re-freezing in quite the way you want it to. It takes quite a bit of experimentation before Padauk gets the process down.

Eventually, your Pokemon manage to assemble the ice slabs into a sturdy-looking bridge with which to cross the chasm. You do your best to not look down as you carefully inch your way across the precarious platform.

SUCCESS! +2 RPT

Just as you are about to reach the end of the bridge, two Team Rocket Grunts emerge from behind a bush to block the way!
"Ooh, looks like you're in a bit of a rush to get by, aint'cha?"
"We'll let you through if you give us your Pokemon. And make it snappy! Wouldn't want that bridge to melt while you're still on it."

"You haven't seen the last of us!" The Rocket Grunt returns Kilowattrel to her Poke Ball, sticks out her tongue into you, and flees into the underbrush.

RP Segment 2:

Having successfully fended off the wannabe Pokemon thieves, you continue your treasure hunt. As luck would have it, your search quickly yields results.

Paduak is the first to notice it: a simple and dilapidated shrine, worn down by time unkind. You peer within and see, nestled inside: a single clay vase. Its surface is completely painted over with a lattice of strange glyphs and sigils, and its single opening is plugged with a thick wax seal. Somehow, an inexplicable feeling of dread you get from looking at the old vase sets your whole body ashiver. No doubt, this must be the ancient evil-sealing relic that you have been searching for.

You grasp the vase by its sides and try to lift it up, but to your surprise it, doesn't budge! Whatever is inside of it, small as it may be, seems to be unthinkably heavy. How are you going to get this thing back out of the jungle?

Gemini Taurus how will your party respond?

"Perfect this is exactly what we've been looking for! I may be too weak to get this vase out of the shrine, but I think we've got a way out of this!

Padauk, I need you to use your Purifying Salt ability to ensure that the vase is free of curses that may be weighing it down, if that doesn't work at least you'll dispel the bad vibes. Avens make sure you've got a Sticky Hold on the vase in the meantime, so that you can use your Strength to pull it out!"

:garganacl:: Padauk will use his Purifying Salt ability to remove any spirits or curses that may be weighing the vase down or causing bad vibes.
:muk:: Avens will use his Sticky Hold ability to get a strong grip on the vase and Strength to help lift it out of the shrine.

Avens splats himself to the vase and tries to lift it... without success (disappointing). Paduak, who suspects magical forces at play, scrapes his fingers against each other and lets some crumbs of purifying salt fall atop the ancient vase. Miraculously, the vase's tremendous weight is instantly reduced! Avens almost topples over himself as he hoists the vase straight off its pedestal, but fortunately his gooey hands hold fast.

Success! +2 RPT

As you walk out of the shrine with your haul, a couple of displeased Pokemon confront you.

:sv/zoroark-hisui: "No ordinary treasure hunter would have been able to overcome the sensory illusion I placed on that artifact. What are you, some sort of magician?"
:sv/hatterene: "Whatever you're plotting to do with that evil vessel, we won't allow it!"
