ability: Huge Power
nature: Adamant
evs: 240 HP / 240 Atk / 16 Def / 12 SpD
ivs: 6 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Set Description
=============
Huge Power and Choice Band boost Azumarill's Attack to demolish foes. Liquidation and Play Rough hit type-weak and neutral targets like Arcanine, Garchomp, Primarina, Tapu Lele, and Metagross hard. Aqua Jet is used for Pressure Entei and Nihilego, while Iron Tail is used for Fairy-types like Aromatisse and Togekiss. Ice Punch is for Bulk Up Landorus-Therian and slightly improves your odds to beat Leech Seed Venusaur, and Knock Off is for better odds against Spectrier and Aegislash. Azumarill is very good for dealing with soft checks to Fairy-types such as Goodra and Galarian Moltres due to it hitting physically, unlike most viable Fairy-types. Choice Band guarantees it KOes most of its targets.

EVs
=============
The bulk EVs allow Azumarill to survive Choice Band Urshifu's Poison Jab and non-Choice Specs Sylveon's Hyper Beam. The 6 Speed IVs let it underspeed Aegislash, hitting its Blade forme after it attacks.

Usage Tips
=============
Against Entei, you want to use Aqua Jet, since using Liquidation can make Azumarill run out of PP against Protect + Substitute variants.

[SET]
name: Assault Vest
move 1: Play Rough
move 2: Aqua Jet
move 3: Superpower / Dig / Knock Off
move 4: Liquidation
item: Assault Vest
ability: Huge Power
nature: Careful
evs: 248 HP / 216 Atk / 12 Def / 32 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

Set Description
=============
Assault Vest allows Azumarill to survive strong and super effective special attackers that it previously could not handle, such as Magnezone and Choice Scarf Porygon-Z. Superpower beats non-Reflect Porygon-Z and Magnezone. Dig can be used to beat Naganadel while still beating Magnezone. Aqua Jet picks off weakened foes, Custap Berry users, and Sturdy users like Magnezone, Sawk, Primarina, and Porygon-Z.

EVs
=============
The bulk investment and Assault Vest allow Azumarill to survive Choice Specs Magnezone's Thunderbolt and Choice Band Urshifu's Poison Jab. The rest is dumped into Attack, notably improving your odds against Celesteela, Togekiss, Primarina, Magnezone, and Garchomp.

An alternate spread of 248 HP / 100 Atk / 12 Def / 148 SpD with a Careful nature can be used to survive Choice Specs Porygon-Z's Hyper Beam and Choice Band Urshifu's Poison Jab. Here, the EVs dumped in Attack improve odds against Magnezone and Haxorus.

An additional spread of 112 HP / 164 Atk / 232 SpD still lets Azumarill tank Choice Specs Porygon-Z's Hyper Beam, and it has more Attack EVs to improve various KO odds than the previous spread.

Usage Tips
=============
Using the highest damaging move will most likely give you the win. Against low health foes, especially Custap Berry + Sturdy users like Sawk and Magnezone, you should always use Aqua Jet to KO them. Against opponents like Aromatisse, Gardevoir, or Ninetales-Alola which may be using Encore and Disable together, you should alternate between Play Rough and Liquidation to secure the matchup. However, against Salazzle, Azumarill should instead switch between Liquidation and Aqua Jet to avoid being forced to struggle. Against Crustle and Sawk, prediction is required with using Aqua Jet and either Liquidation or Play Rough to avoid the foe's Counter OHKOing Azumarill.

item: Leftovers
ability: Sap Sipper
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 244 Def / 12 SpD
ivs: 0 Atk

[SET COMMENTS]

Set Description
=============
This set stalls out would-be checks such as Rillaboom, Zarude, and some Tapu Bulu sets. Amnesia and Charm both weaken incoming attacks, eventually letting Azumarill chip foes down with Seismic Toss. Icy Wind can be used over Seismic Toss to beat Aggron and secure the matchup against all Tapu Bulu sets, and Rest provides recovery and removes status conditions, such as Entei's Toxic. Additionally, Sap Sipper gives Azumarill an immunity to incoming Grass-type attacks from foes like Rillaboom, Tapu Bulu, and Zarude, and it prevents Leech Seed users like Whimsicott from taking advantage of Azumarill's passivity.

EVs
=============
The Defense investment allows Azumarill to survive a Poison Jab followed by a Charm-weakened Poison Jab from Choice Band Urshifu, as well as the best odds of defeating Galarian Darmanitan, since having maximum Defense EVs does not change the roll. The rest of the EVs are dumped into Special Defense for improved odds to beat Timid Porygon-Z and Choice Specs Spectrier. Minimizing Azumarill's Attack helps to lower confusion self-damage, which slightly improves the matchup against foes like Galarian Moltres.

Usage Tips
=============
Against Tapu Fini, Azumarill should use Amnesia once and then repeatedly use Seismic Toss. This takes advantage of Tapu Fini's tendency to Iron Defense immediately against Azumarill. By boosting its Special Defense, Azumarill lowers the healing Tapu Fini gets from Draining Kiss, so it cannot outheal Azumarill's Seismic Toss. When facing Entei, you should continuously use Seismic Toss to beat it reliably. When using Icy Wind against Aggron, Azumarill should use Icy Wind turn 1. If Aggron uses Head Smash, Rest should be used until the foe faints from recoil damage. If Aggron uses any other move, Azumarill should stall out Aggron's pp instead.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Azumarill can use Belly Drum to destroy stall Pokemon like Registeel and Galarian Corsola, but it loses longevity and is inconsistent. With either alternate EV spread of the Assault Vest set, Azumarill can use Iron Tail to have a more reliable matchup versus Sylveon. Scald is also an option on stall Azumarill for a better matchup against foes that can boost past Azumarill's Charm, like Swords Dance Garchomp and Iron Defense + Body Press Ferrothorn, although this can be inconsistent due to it relying on burns.

Huge Power and Choice Band boosts Azumarill's Attack to demolish opponents. Liquidation and Play Rough are solid STAB moves that hit Dragon and Fire types like Dragapult and Arcanine would be nice to have a couple more examples tee bee eich, neutral targets like Primarina, Metagross, etc also are good to include hard, possibly even KOing them. This includes things like Dragapult and Arcanine. Aqua Jet is used for Pressure Entei and Choice Scarf Togekiss, while Iron Tail is used for Fairies Fairy-types like Aromatisse and Togekiss. Huge Power doubles Azumarill's Attack, giving it more power this can be combined with the first sentence - huge power + band both make azu hit hard.

add stuff about knock / ice punch since they were added

EVs
=============
nick thought these evs were a bit sus, bo made a new spread that tanks band urshifu + specs sylv + underspeeds aegi
The bulk allows Azumarill to live Choice Band Haxorus and Choice Specs Tapu Lele's Moonblast, although Tapu Lele can run Thunder to potentially beat Azumarill. The rest is dumped into Attack.

Usage Tips
=============
Against Tapu Lele, you can use Liquidation instead of the 75% accurate Iron Tail to KO it guaranteed. Against Entei and Choice Scarf Togekiss, you want to use Aqua Jet t1 to not get Pressure stalled by Entei or flinched by Togekiss. However, against Maranga Togekiss you want to use Iron Tail to KO it.

Set Description

Liquidation and Play Rough are solid STAB moves that hit Dragon and Fire types hard, possibly even KOing them. This includes things like Dragapult and Arcanine. please don't repeat the exact same sentence twice for different sets, talk about Assault Vest here for sure. If you don't have anything new to say about Liquidation / Play Rough, then you can just skip them in subsequent sections Superpower beats non- Reflect Porygon-Z excluding Reflect variants and also beats Magnezone. Aqua Jet picks off weakened foes I think Custap Berry users would be useful to mention here too and Sturdy users like Magnezone and Sawk. Huge Power doubles Azumarill's Attack, giving it more power.

EVs
=============
Assault Vest with the added bulk from HP and SpDef The bulk investment and Assault Vest allows reworded for conciseness Azumarill to live Choice Specs Magnezone's Thunderbolt. The Speed EVs allow Azumarill to outspeed -Nature Celesteela what is this-, while the rest is dumped into Attack for rolls against Magnezone, Celesteela, Togekiss, Primarina, opposing Azumarill, Garchomp, Tapu Koko, and Haxorus, and many other things. Would dumping into attack not be better than the random 28 Speed EVs?? Not your fault, but this spread sucks lol

An alternate spread of 248 HP / 100 Atk / 12 Def / 148 SpD with a Careful Nature can be used to live Choice Specs Porygon-Z and Choice Band Pheromosa and Choice Band Urshifu. specify moves here plz The rest is dumped into Attack for damage rolls against Magnezone and Haxorus.

An alternate spread of 248 HP / 216 Atk / 12 Def / 32 SpD with a Careful Nature lets it live Choice Specs Magnezone and Choice Band Urshifu or Choice Band Pheromosa. specific moves The rest is dumped into Attack. This set can run Dig over Superpower to have a 25% chance to beat Naganadel and still beats Magnezone, but it worsens the matchup versus Porygon-Z this spread was made the main one, so you'll need to swap this one and the first, add the anti-aegi speed IVs, look at setscomp pins for move options

An additional spread of 112 HP / 164 Atk / 232 SpD could be run to bulk Choice Specs Porygon-Z's Hyper Beam, while the rest is dumped into Attack. Any of these altspreads can run Iron Tail to have a more reliable matchup versus Sylveon.

added spacing to make the altspreads more obvious, but like... why are there so many- Again, not your fault, just a lot of information for the reader to process

Aqua Jet is used for Pressure Entei and Choice Scarf Togekiss If you are going to use Iron Tail like you say below, no need to mention scarf at all - sure, it wins against Choice Scarf, but not against Maranga / Kee. Maybe Nihilego, if that's not too bad of an example?, while Iron Tail is used for Fairy-types like Aromatisse and Togekiss. Huge Power and Choice Band boost Azumarill's Attack to demolish opponents. foes. Liquidation and Play Rough hit Dragon and Fire types like Garchomp and Arcanine, while also hitting type-weak and neutral targets like Arcanine, Garchomp, Primarina, Tapu Lele, and Metagross hard. Aqua Jet is used for Pressure Entei and Nihilego, while Iron Tail is used for Fairy-types like Aromatisse and Togekiss. Ice Punch is for Bulk Up Landorus-Therian and slightly improves odds against your odds to beat Leech Seed Venusaur, and Knock Off is for better odds against Spectrier and Aegislash. Azumarill is very good for dealing with so-called checks to Fairy types such as Goodra and Moltres-Galar due to it hitting on the Physical side, Fairy-types such as Goodra and Galarian Moltres due to it hitting physically, unlike most viable Fairy types. The additional damage from it's Choice Band let's it fulfill that role better by guaranteeing to KO it's targets. Fairy-types. Choice Band guarantees it KOes most of its targets. (I imagine this makes sense?)

EVs

The 6 Speed IVs let it underspeed Aegislash, hitting its Blade forme after it attacks.

Assault Vest allows Azumarill to live survive strong and super-effective hits that it previously could not live on the special side, super effective special attackers that it previously could not handle, such as Magnezone and Choice Scarf Porygon-Z. Superpower beats non-Reflect Porygon-Z and Magnezone. Dig can be used to beat Naganadel while still beating Magnezone. Aqua Jet picks off weakened foes, Custap Berry users, and Sturdy or Endure (I imagine, for primarina and pz? correct me if i'm wrong) users like Magnezone, Primarina, Sawk, (AC) and Porygon-Z.

EVs
=============
The bulk investment and Assault Vest allow Azumarill to live survive Choice Specs Magnezone's Thunderbolt and Choice Band Urshifu-S's (I imagine you didn't mean -R's?) Poison Jab. The rest is dumped into Attack for rolls against Attack, notably improving your odds against (I imagine this works?) Celesteela, Togekiss, Primarina, opposing Azumarill, (AC) and Garchomp.

An alternate spread of 248 HP / 100 Atk / 12 Def / 148 SpD with a Careful Nature nature can be used to live survive Choice Specs Porygon-Z's Hyper Beam and Choice Band Pheromosa and Choice Band Urshifu's Pheromosa's Poison Jab. The rest is dumped into Attack for damage rolls Here, the EVs dumped in Attack improve odds (I imagine this works?) against Magnezone and Haxorus.

An additional spread of 112 HP / 164 Atk / 232 SpD could be run to bulk Choice Specs Porygon-Z's Hyper Beam, while the rest is dumped into Attack. still lets Azumarill tank Choice Specs Porygon-Z's Hyper Beam, and it has more Attack EVs to improve various KO odds than the previous spread.

Usage Tips
=============
Using the highest-damaging move (added hyphen) will most likely give you the win. Against low-health (added hyphen) foes, especially Custap Berry + Sturdy users like Sawk and Magnezone, you should always use Aqua Jet to KO them. When fighting Counter Sawk and Crustle, Azumarill faces a coinflip scenario between using Aqua Jet into Liquidation, which wins if they use Counter, or Liquidation into Aqua Jet, which wins if they don't. (implementing last sentence, which I assume was a qc holdover. feel free to change this as desired / if i misunderstand anything) Against opponents foes like Aromatisse, Gardevoir, or Ninetales-Alola which may be using Encore and Disable together, Alolan Ninetales, and Salazzle, which may be using Encore + Disable, you should alternate between Play Rough and Liquidation to secure the matchup. Similarly, against Salazzle, Azumarill should switch between Liquidation and Aqua Jet to avoid being forced to struggle. Mention 50/50 with aqua jet t1 against Crustle and Sawk to avoid being countered.

[SET COMMENTS]

Set Description
=============
This set takes a more defensive approach by stalling out would be stalls out would-be checks such as Rillaboom and certain Tapu Bulu sets. Amnesia and Charm both weaken incoming attacks, eventually letting Azumarill chip opponents foes down with Seismic Toss. Rest provides recovery and removes status conditions, such as Entei's Toxic. Additionally, Sap Sipper gives Azumarill an immunity to incoming Grass-type attacks from opponents foes like Rillaboom, Tapu Bulu, and Zarude, (AC) and it prevents Leech Seed users like Whimsicott from taking advantage of Azumarill's passivity.

EVs
=============
The defense Defense investment gives the best better (I'd imagine 252 def would give the 'best' odds here? if i'm wrong, maybe clarify why that is for the reader) odds of defeating Galarian Darmanitan, while still living and it lets Azumarill survive a Poison Jab followed by a Charm-weakend Charm-weakened Poison Jab from Choice Band Urshifu-S. The rest of the EVs are dumped into special defense Special Defnese for improved odds against to beat Timid Porygon-Z and Choice Specs Spectrier. (assuming my comment about 252 def evs is correct, it seems unclear from the outside why you'd bother putting these 12 evs in spd, when they don't achieve any specific threshold and 252 def would maximize your odds to beat galar darmanitan. if that earlier comment is right, ideally clarify why you split 244/12 like you do. if that previous comment is wrong, well, ignore this one then lol) Minimum attack investment Minimizing Attack helps to lower confusion self-damage, (added hyphen) which slightly improves the matchup against opponents foes like Galarian Moltres.

Usage Tips
=============
Against Tapu Fini, Azumarill should use Amnesia once (RC) and then repeatedly use Seismic Toss. This takes advantage of Tapu Fini's tendency to use Iron Defense immediately against Azumarill. By boosting its Special Defense, Azumarill lowers the healing Tapu Fini gets from Draining Kiss, so it cannot outheal Azumarill's Seismic Toss. When facing Entei, you should continuously use Seismic Toss to beat it reliably.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Azumarill can use Belly Drum to destroy stall Pokemon like Registeel and Corsola-G, Galarian Corsola, but it loses longevity and is inconsistent. For the stall set, you could run Icy Wind over Seismic Toss to beat all Tapu Bulu sets, (I imagine? bc that set says you already beat some) but it doesn't do much outside of that, leaving you Azumarill vulnerable to crits. critical hits. Additionally, stall Azumarill can use the a Sitrus Berry to help against Aggron, but then it struggles against other opponents foes like Choice Band Urshifu. Any Urshifu-S. With either alternate EV spread of the Assault Vest set, Azumarill can use Iron Tail to have a more reliable matchup versus Sylveon.
