:sv/urshifu-rapid-strike:

IDK why but whenever I think of AV Urshifu-R, I imagine Urshifu streaming Counter Strike.

[SET]
Assault Vest Lure (Urshifu-Rapid-Strike) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Unseen Fist
Level: 50
Tera Type: Poison / Steel / Water
EVs: 204 HP / 252 Atk / 52 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Surging Strikes
- Ice Spinner
- Aqua Jet
- Drain Punch / Close Combat

[SET COMMENTS]

* Urshifu-R may not seem like it has enough special bulk to use Assault Vest, but instead of trying to merely tank special attacks, this set aims for deception, luring and destroying common offensive checks like Flutter Mane and Serperior!

* **Ice Spinner**: Having coverage against Dragonite is very important for this set. While Ice Punch allows for even more potential trickery for making a foe assume Urshifu-R could have Punching Glove, Ice Spinner's terrain-removing powers are helpful enough against Indeedee and Rillaboom that it's the preferred option.

* **Drain Punch versus Close Combat**: Drain Punch makes the most use of Assault Vest's added special bulk, and it is especially helpful for gaining plenty of health back against Focus Sash Urshifu-S and Chien-Pao. Close Combat may seem like a poor fit in comparison, but it deals excellent chip damage to offensive Primarina sets and Raging Bolt.

* **EV Spread**: The given EV spread avoids an OHKO from Tera Normal Ursaluna-B's Blood Moon and Modest Flutter Mane's unboosted Moonblast while providing a good amount of physical bulk.

Other Options
========

* **Thunder Punch**: If using Tera Electric or your team has big issues against Primarina, Thunder Punch is a reasonable option at the cost of Aqua Jet's useful priority.

* **U-turn**: U-turn on a bulky potential pivot like Urshifu-R might seem like a no-brainer, but this set benefits much more from surprising its usual checks than pivoting.

Tera Types
========

* **Tera Dependency - High**: In a given match, Urshifu-R doesn't always need to Terastallize, but Terastallization is key to making the most of this set's luring prowess!

* **Poison**: Tera Poison is a beautiful choice for taking on Flutter Mane, with Tera-boosted Choice Specs Flutter Mane failing to OHKO Urshifu-R! It also stops Toxic Spikes from wearing down Urshifu-R, which is especially helpful since this Tera type improves the matchup against the three most common offensive setters of it: Glimmora, Iron Moth, and Meowscarada.

* **Steel**: Tera Steel has superb synergy with Urshifu-R's previous typing, providing important resistances to powerful blows like Flutter Mane's Moonblast, Tera Flying Roaring Moon's Acrobatics, and Iron Crown's Expanding Force. This does come at the cost of being easily revenge killed by opposing Urshifu formes and Landorus-T, though.

* **Water**: Tera Water's lack of a Fairy resistance means Choice Specs Flutter Mane is now an unlikely target to lure, but the huge power boost to Surging Strikes and Aqua Jet still make it a good option.

* **Electric**: Tera Electric is a good option to defeat common paralysis spreaders like Archaludon and Porygon2, and it also saves Urshifu-R from the terrifying Tera Electric Chien-Pao.

Alternate EV Spreads
========

* **124 Attack EVs with Adamant**: This is the minimum Attack investment this Urshfu-R should run. It matches Jolly Urshifu-R's maximum Attack stat, contributing towards this set's penchant for fooling foes!

* **12 HP / 124 Atk / 4 Def / 140 SpD / 228 Spe with Adamant**: This spread sacrifices lots of physical bulk for outspeeding Jolly Dragonite, and it still survives Ursaluna-B's Tera Normal Blood Moon and Timid Flutter Mane's unboosted Moonblast.

* **212 HP / 124 Atk / 116 Def / 4 SpD / 52 Spe with Adamant**: This spread sacrifices special bulk in exchange for surviving Adamant Chien-Pao's Tera Electric Tera Blast and outspeeding Adamant Breloom. It also still avoids an OHKO from Timid Flutter Mane's Moonblast and +1 Adamant Dragonite's five-hit Scale Shot.

Looks adequately thorough to me! Only big detail that might be worth adding is that the physically bulky spread can also survive 5-hit Scale Shot from +1 Adamant Dragonite. Otherwise, just need to add the Adamant nature to the spread bullets (including the 124 Atk descriptor) and this is good to go.

QC APPROVED!
