Pet Mod A New Legend: Hoopa

A New Legend
In an era long gone, Sinnoh was still a largely untouched realm by the name of Hisui, unclaimed by modernity and with species that would fade away from the region as time's inexorable march continued. Now, a new tale takes us even further back to a land governed in its modern day by the balance of its fertile lands and priceless seas, which at one point was only reigned by the chaotic whims of the beastly Hoopa... It's Hoenn as you've never seen it before!
Concept
A New Legend seeks to take a page from DLCmons and build a meta based around a hypothetical new entry in a full Pokemon Legends subseries. In our introductory slate, a version of Hoenn set a thousand years in the past was chosen, carrying with it:
-Regional variants
-Pokedex changes, whether it be additions from other gens or removals for flavor
-Evolutions
-And more!

Mechanics
Of course, there is an obvious wrinkle with this premise. Legends Arceus' mechanics, in their current state, are completely unworkable for PVP. As such, I have opted for a compromise: When this meta is playable, it'll stick to the foundations of the core games but with a few salvageable mechanics from PLA. These include:
-Statuses: Fixated, Drowsy, Primed, Frostbite
-Status overwriting
-Temporary stat boosts w/ offenses and defenses being boosted together
-Jagged Splinters

SPREADSHEET HERE BOYS

Feel free to suggest additions and removals to this list.

And here we go!

Slate 1: Region Selection
The first order of business is picking what region to work with. This'll be a rather unconventional opener for a pet mod, as it's mostly gonna be about worldbuilding more than any competitive thought. Excise that stuff from your head as best you can and think of this purely as a creative writing project.

Here are the things your submission should specify

Region Name: Keep the original name or a brand new one depending on the lore you're going with. If a new name, of course make sure to specify what region is being Legendsified.
Mascot: What Pokemon best represents the themes and setting of your idea?
Time Period: When does this occur in relation to the core game(s) of that region?

Geography: The more detailed on this, the merrier! Go over as many familiar landmarks and sections of the original as you can and specify what's changed, what's the same and how that affects the people and Pokemon who live there. You don't need to go into depth on the full Pokedex, we'll get there in due time. Just get the underlying worldbuilding down. Don't be afraid if someone else does a region you wanted to - different takes are welcome and appreciated!

Now, here's the list of what you can and cannot use for this creative exercise!

Mainline
Kanto
Johto
Hoenn
Unova
Kalos
Galar

But that's not all! To further spice up this stage, I'm allowing you to submit certain spinoff regions as well if your heart so desires!

Spinoff
Fiore
Almia
Oblivia
Ransei
Ferrum
Lental

Sinnoh: Self-explanatory
Alola: Too similar to DLCmons
Orre: Similar to Alola, other mods are tackling Orre
Any spinoff region not listed: Cannot conceivably exist in the core game world (i.e. anything from Mystery Dungeon) or is too small to be a full “region” (Poketopia from Battle Revolution or Rhyme City from Detective Pikachu).

And that's what you need! Now get out there and make them submissions!

Region Name: Anglalar(Angleland + Galar)
Mascot: Calyrex
Time Period: The galarian equivalent of 1066
Geography: This is the biggest change here as there's going to be a lot of influences here. Anglalar is based on to the shock of no one England during the Norman conquest. As a result a lot of the bigger cities, specifically Wyndon are going to be a lot less technically advanced, and some cities like Stow-On-Side may not even be around yet. Essentially the big question for a lot of the places in galar is if their real world counterparts existed in 1066 or not and if they were of any strategic import WHICH LEADS ME TO THE PEOPLE AND POKEMON.

The Norman conquest is basically this medieval battle royale to control the world's worst island. On one side you had the Normans lead by Bobby the Bastard, on the other side you had the Anglo-Saxon king of England Harold Godwinson, but then you also have the third hidden contender of Harald Hardrada the king of Norway at the time. Now what this means in game is two things: a lot of kalos pokemon and a lot of viking-esque norse pokemon. Unsurprisingly this war is going to bring new pokemon to the land of Anglalar and possibly new regional forms form not just this region but two others, foreign invaders if you will.

Of course there is the basic plot to the region which boils down to medieval kings fighting over a land and the only one who can stop them is a long forgotten ruler. I would also like to see how Calyrex can interact with the legendary wolves as well as possibly create a new, more unique form for Calyrex among other things.

Anyway here are some notable locations

Kellswick(Postwick)-A small village comprised of the descendants of foreign invaders to Anglalar.
Nytemouth(A new location based on the English city of Tynemouth)-A large settlement in which Hardrad leader of the Wegnorian Forces first arrived in. It is the closest thing they have to a base of operations.
Manostoke(Motosoke)-A larger city that the player would use as their hub. It basically looks closer to the medieval quarter in real world Manchester with like some additional roman influences.
Turffield-A historical town with a lot of history and a slight druidic focus. The stone formations here are said to awaken things in people and pokemon.
Hammerlocke-A larger city that is the base of operations for the Courmans, yes Courmans, lead by William. He is currently building what would end up becoming the stadium here. That said it basically is similar to Manostoke with it being less industrial and having more of a medieval look with a roman influence. I'm most likely going to say that about a lot of bigger locations here as typically their real world counterparts have something to do with the romans.
Wyndon-The base of operations for the Anglalarian forces, lead by Godwin. I literally do not know what else to say other than it's similar to the other two cities and then some. Basically think the stereotypical big medieval city in most fantasy settings.
Grimmwood Forest(Glimwood Tangle and Ballonlea)-A massive mysterious forest that spans from the Plateaus of Stowon to the icy peaks that surround Wyndon. Its strange fungi make many call it a home to the fae. Most people refuse to enter as they believe even stepping foot in there will invoke their ire.
Plateus of Stowon(Route 6 and Stow-On-Side)-A large dry series of Plateus that carry on form Hammerlocke to Grimmwood Forrest. The heat is said to be nearly unbearable and those that go there will need to prepare for anything ranging from sandstorms, heatstrokes, and falling rocks.
Ruins of Octodum(Route 8)-A bustling city once part of a great empire is now left in shambles. When they left so to did the people, and now the ruins are all that remain. Some say you can still feel the spirit of the empire as you step foot onto these ruins.

Ability: Light Power
is a Pre-Contributor
Region Name: Neguni (Corruption of “Negai no kuni”, which means land of wishes in Japanese)
Mascot: Jirachi
Time Period: Around 1600-1700 A.C.
Geography: Hoenn used to be truly equal land and equal sea before it changes shape over time due to climate changes, and it used to be home of Jirachi, whereas it used to be far more active upon landing on the planet a hundred years prior. The Hoenn region used to be named Neguni before changing name, as Hoenn now represents “harmony of land and sea”.

Jirachi, in it’s elusive Enchanted form, will make even the most unlikely wishes come true for those who managed to find it, dancing around in a river once during a new moon. As greed started to get the best of Pokémon and humanity alike, Jirachi started to tire out, and loses most of it’s mystical power. In the present day, it is said only become active every hundred years. Until now, many documents about Jirachi have thought to be lost in time.

Once an emperor and his army of faithful men and ladies (one of which is the ancestor of a certain Guzma) put their feet on the land, Jirachi truly tires out, and Neguni started to face difficult time adapting the suddenly volatile weathers and the increasingly aggressive Pokémon. The indigenous people of Neguni refuses help from the outsiders due to vehement distrust despite they themselves are guilty of greed towards Jirachi.

Likewise, the emperor, despite his own greed, realizes his mistake and send his men and ladies to keep violent Pokémon in check. In an unprecedented event, an overflow of never before seen Negunian forms and even evolutions of Pokémon that are known today. It even escalates into Groudon and Kyogre waking up due to energy overflow found in the Red Orb and the Blue Orb.

After the intervention of Rayquaza, with the help of an unlikely hero that is said to be from the future, the clash of Groudon and Kyogre calmed down and returned to their rest. However, Jirachi had yet to permanently recover it’s true power, and the method to bring it back to full glory is yet to be rediscovered…
Potential Major Places:
  • Verdanturf Town: Starting point of the player character. Gardening and cultivation of Berries and flowers are a favorite of the people that lives in Verdanturf Town.
  • Staleport Town: A humble town funded by people of from a faraway region. Despite the initial distrust of the indigenous people of Neguni, this town opened up trading from other nearby regions.
  • Cave of Origin: Before a meteor hits the mountain, forming Soothopolis City in present day of Hoenn, the Cave of Origin is hidden within the mountain called Mt. Soothen, the second tallest mountain next to Mt. Chimney. Mt. Soothen is home of many Ice-type Pokémon.
  • Mt. Chimney: A mountain that became dormant after it’s eruption since a thousand year ago. Plenty of Fire-type, Rock-type and Poison-type Pokémon are found in there, including the Torchic line.
  • Verdanturf Forest: A forest found south of Verdanturf. Far more vast than Petalburg Woods, a wide variety of Pokémon is found there, including the Treeko line.
  • Mt. Pire: A recently burned mountain after the incident caused by the wild [REDACTED] ten years ago. It is now home of many Ghost-type Pokémon, as well as several Psychic-type Pokémon.
  • Earthdrain Swamp: A lurky swamp found north of the Neguni region, with the eastern half being more murky and despair-laden, and the western part being beautiful but nonetheles dangerous. It is home of several Bug-type, Dark-type and Water-type Pokémon, including the Mudkip lime.
  • Bluesouth Sea: The southern half of the Negunian sea. Plenty of Flying-type Pokémon and Water-type Pokémon are found on the sea part, and plenty of Ground-type and Rock-type on the land.
  • Cyanorth Sea: Northren half of the Negunian sea. There are less frequency of Flying-type and Water-type, but a higher frequency of Pokémon of other types due to several islands.

Region Name: Ferrum Region
Mascot: Marshadow
Time Period: 700 years before the Shadow Mewtwo catastrophe (aka main game story).
The Story: Time keeps moving on, and so does civilization and exploration. But some prefer to keep things as they are, saying that it would keep peace to the lands. What would happen however, if someone were to suddenly find stones that are able to synergize the energy that is Gaia with Pokemon? And what would happen, if there were stones that are able to suck up that energy for power?
Geography (this will be long i'm gonna cry):
Ferrum Town (Old Ferrum Town) is the heart of the region, where it first claimed the region as its own. The town has coined the nickname "The City of Water" with the abundance of Water Pokemon around the town and a sacred lake in its forest. Both named Magnes Lake and Kobalus Forest. The river, clocktower and fountain are also one of its key landmarks. The people of Ferrum Town believe that they should never inflict any harm towards the lake and forest, hence they dislike the ways the researchers of Neos Town constantly visit for their research and explorations.

A sacred lake protected by the people of Ferrum Town. If one were to bring metals near the waters, there's a chance that those metals will be dragged down into the lake. A mysterious large shrine is located near the lake, said to be built by humans from ancient times.
In this forest locates the Kobalus Cave, where Synergy Stones were first found deep inside the caves. The researchers of Neos Town often visit these caves, which caused the dispute between them and Ferrum Town.

Neos Town (Neos City), located at the south of the region, makes itself well-known with its strong bonds among humans and Pokemon. Researchers also usually come from this town. Whether it's for general use of technology, or items such as Synergy Stones found deep in the earth. So in terms of modernization, Neos Town would be number one as they plan for complete modernization. They are in constant dispute with the people of Ferrum Town.

Tellur Town (still Tellur Town), located at the northeastern part of the region, is a quaint, nature-abundant mountain village. Festivals and Pokemon battles are always held in the town's plaza. Strangely, it only has both Spring and Autumn as their seasons. It is a mystery as to why, but Pokemon seem to like the town's abundance in nature. Especially Deerling and Sawsbuck. These people make sure that the nature around them is growing well and pay respects to the said "Spring and Autumn" spirits. They also prefer to stay away from the feud between Ferrum Town and Neos Town.
The energy of Gaia was also first located here, interacting with the newly found Synergy Stones.

Kryptos House (Haunted House) is a location that seems to appear and disappear in the region whenever it likes. It is said that it was owned by a sorcerer along with Krptos Mansion. Ghost Pokemon love inhabiting this place, and will often shoo away any unlucky visitors they deem unpleasant.

Kryptos Mansion (Mystery Carnival) is a location that seems to appear and disappear in the region whenever it likes. A never-ending festival occurs inside the mansion. Psychic and Dark Pokemon inhabit the festival, putting on shows for each other.

Lithia City (Blue Dome) located on a small island in the seas. Legends say that it was found by a man who had been blessed by Lugia, hence there stands a statue as a show of respect to Lugia itself.

Phos Volcano is a volcano dwelled with inhabitants of a civilization inside the caves, calling themselves the Phos Clan. Rare ores and numerous Fire, Rock, and Ground type Pokemon can be found here. The Phos Clan themselves seem harmonious at first, but it looks like they have secrets of their own. Especially when it came to Synergy Stones.

Caesiu Desert is a desert with a clear blue sky, not a single cloud spotted in sight. There locates the Caesiu Village.

Caesiu Village (Regi Ruins)
A peaceful village with a large temple in the middle. Nobody has attempted to go inside the temple, however. But it's said that three legendary Pokemon reside there.

Selen Island is said to be where the moon shines the brightest, hence there would be festivals for the moon once every three months. Fairy type Pokemon would often visit around the town named Selen Town.

Thalia Coast (Thalia Beach) could be said as a peaceful sightseeing place. Other than that, there's not much of interest except for being a perfect place to catch Pokemon.

Durago Mountain (Dragon's Nest) is a fiercesome, tall mountain where most Dragon Pokemon inhabit. It's said that the legendary Pokemon Rayquaza could be found there as well, but only few have ever made it up the mountain and come back alive.

aaaand i'm done! i think! my back hurts save my soul

Region Name: Kalos
Mascot: Diancie
Time Period: 800 years before XY (when Xerneas released/Yveltal absorbed life energy throughout the Kalos region upon reaching the end of its life cycle. )
Geography: The release and absorbtion of energy has thrown Kalos into chaos. Some pokemon have been weakened, while others now go on destructive rampages. Zygarde seeks to restore the balance in the ecosystem.

At the same time, a team of researchers have heard about Kalos's legendary trio and have come to learn more about them. The locals suspect that the researchers are the ones behind all of the trouble in the region. The research team begins to suspect that the locals must have angered xerneas and yveltal in some way. The player charcter, who is part of the research team, tries to end the crisis after meeting with Diancie.

Since this game takes place in the past, a lot of the cities and towns in xy are non existent or a lot smaller. The game starts in Vaniville Hamlet. Some notable towns that are present include Geosenge, Shalour, Anistar, and Lumoise. There are also some castles scattered around the region.

Region Name: Kelssen
Mascot: Floette-Eternal
Time Period: 3000 years before XY
Geography: An adventure happening in an ancient version of Kalos in the aftermath of the old war. A region filled of old ruins of different medieval clans after AZ's country managed to wipe them out. You're sent as a sentry to establish the limits of the newly conquered territories, to negotiate treaties with locals and to make a census of local pokémon populations. But in the vein of a fallout games, the use of weapons of mass destruction has had consequences on the life still remaining, and so you'll see a lot of weird mutations that resulted in some species of pokémon you do not see in modern Kalos. still kinda wip

Region Name: Ransei
Mascot: Silvally
Time Period: 60 years after Pokemon Conquest
Geography: At one time, Ransei was known as the region that was so stubbornly able to cling on to old ways of life harder than even Johto, functioning almost as a living time capsule of mannerisms and rituals everyone else had discarded centuries ago. But eventually, even it could no longer struggle against the inexorable forces of time. New connections were made with other regions and old traditions were downsized or discarded, with these changes opening the floodgates for rampant technological advancement. The new Ransei is a land of opportunity that wears its old legacy as a window-dressing. Some have welcomed this era of progress and all the bounties it has brought, while others have been left behind, wondering to themselves whether something was lost in that transition.

The Fates of a Few Notable Landmarks
Aurora is a comfy home in the countryside, comparable to the sorts of locales where many legendary trainers from other regions began their journeys. Overlooking its farms and occasional suburbs is the old castle of the original Hero/Heroine, which continues to stand proudly as a historical site and tourist destination, tirelessly maintained by the elder Oichi.

Violight was already relatively advanced in the age of Nobunaga's war, so when the era of progress came it was able to capitalize better than almost any other kingdom. In the present day it is the big tech capital of the region, a giant metropolis forged on the most advanced and clean infrastructre available. At one point an Aether Foundation lab was even opened here, although it was abandoned some time ago. Curiously, however, it remains cordoned off with strict guarding against urban explorers. Nobody is quite sure why this is, with the gap in info allowing conspiracies about what lies inside to flourish.

Pugilis finds itself as a favorite for Galarian tourists and immigrants, its immense ancient colosseum being a perfect fit to re-enact the sort of bombastic stadium battles they grew up loving. It also doubles as the site of what many consider the strongest Gym in the region, led by the grandson of the late and great Yoshihiro.

Valora has a similar story to Violight with its already decent tech, except unlike the former it is Ransei's capital for heavy industry. The son of Tadakatsu is one of the wealthiest CEOs in the region, the trucks of his company Meteor Mash Foundries being a familiar sight around the region making deliveries of all shapes and sizes.

Spectra has seen a cultural transformation unlike anywhere else in the region. Rather than melting away, its old iconography has instead become the hallmark of a grassroots underground music movement, with punks and beatniks participating in absolutely colossal raves in tandem with the Ghost type Pokemon who inhabit it, the old buildings proudly adorned with the graffiti of new generations.

Similarly to Aurora, Dragnor's castle has been allowed to stand, although unlike the former it has been extensively renovated on the inside to function as the region's Pokemon League. Reigning Champions have their throne sat at the castle's summit, the arena surrounded by golden statues of the 6 Pokemon who fought in the legendary last stand of Nobunaga's army 60 years ago.

Work!
Region Name: Tojoh
Mascot: Celebi
Time Period: 200 years ago (occurs concurrently with PLA)
Geography: The lands that became the Johto region are forested and rural.
  • The Gold Mountain range is located at the eastern terminus of the region, acting as a stark contrast to the forested landscape below it, and is home to a fledging clan of Dragon trainers that have lived in isolation from others.
  • Also in contrast to the forests is the Azalea Desert in the south, where the remnants of a town that once prospered before it became struck by a drought centuries ago. There is a shrine in the desert that is said causes time to stand still.
  • These people relocated and built a town in the Violet Woods, including building a shrine to the local Bellsprout population, which is in the central area of Tojoh, and Goldenrod port serving as a gateway to the sea.
  • In the southeast of the region is Cherrygrove Bay, a small community near the sea that acts as a hub for those looking to climb the Gold Mountains.
  • In the west lies the Whirl Island, which is home of the Cianwood Pharmacy in an enviable tropical climate, breathtaking cliff edges and a tall tower said to both reach both the Earth's core and the atmosphere.
  • To the north of the legion lie the Forest of Rage, a bewildering forest with a giant lake in the center that frequently sees thunderstorms.
  • At the center of the region, is the Mt. Mortar Highlands, home to an impressive mountain range (said to be home to a blue Pikachu variant), but also a pair of towers that act as tribute to a pair of bird Pokemon. A unique cultural vibrancy can be found in this area, including a special dance style created to show reverence to the birds.
  • The first settlers in the region emerged from Mt. Silver in the east, and established a community at the base of the mountain, known as Silver Town, which has a strong mining industry.
  • The settlers built a path around the base of the Gold Mountains that connects them to Cherrygrove Bay. While making this route, they found a waterfall in a cave, as well as the lake that fed it, and named both after the region: Tojho Lake and Tohjo Falls.
  • The last place of note is the Josui Ruins, said to be linked to the Hisui region through the power of the Almighty Sinnoh. The Ancients created their own language using hieroglyphic Pokemon, but they were too powerful and so they were sealed away. The Ancients had completely disappeared by the time the settlers from Silver Town arrived.

Region Name: Kalité
Mascot: Hoopa
Time Period: About 220 years before XY, 20 years before PLA (French Revolution era)
Geography: The common people of Kalité have been holding a Revolution as a result of their prolonged mistreatment by the monarchy and noble class. The rich, with their castles and mansions, have a more steady supply of poke balls, among other resources, but the what the Revolutionaries, in their worn down and war-torn houses, lack in materials, they make up for with numbers. The Revolutionaries managed to smuggle some Pokéballs, and the brightest among them were able to figure out how to build them. All it could take is one good soldier, no, one good trainer, to turn the tide of the war. The region can be divided into 5 sections:
- Copper Grasslands in the South, with a dense forest to its north that left it largely untouched by the ruling class, instead populated by a few revolutionaries and many Pokémon. To the north of its forest area is Lumiose Village: the main base of the Revolutionaries, and to its East is a mountainous region that houses Kalos Manor at its apex.
- Amber Clifflands in the Southwest, home to mountains, caves, but with some fields to the east and a beach to the west
- Glass Coastlands in the Northwest, named after the reflective minerals in its western caves and reflective waters in the rest of the area
- Topaz Swamplands in the North, with an Industrious Desert in the South and a Magical Forest above it, divided by, you guessed it, a Swamp
- Sunstone Highlands in the East, named after the luminous Sundial of Anistar Village, a Noble residence. However, it’s better known for its mountains to the North and South of the village, the former of which is considerably colder, and the latter of which marks the mountain range that Kalos Castle lies on

Region Name: Shinri (Concatenation of the Japanese words for Truth [Shinjitsu] and Ideals [Risō])
Mascot: Victini
Time Period: ~300 Years years ago, Revolutionary War Era
Geography: The Shinri Region was a land of new beginnings for the settlers who founded Castelia Town. These settlers consisted of Galarians who sought to escape the ongoing troubles back in their homelands. These people are now known as Shinrians.
To the southeast of Castelia Town lies the Yume Forest, a sprawling woodlands inhabited by virtually no one except Pokémon. Deep within the forests lays a mysterious, abandoned site, known as The Shrine of Dreams. Explorers claim the shrine is haunted, with many reports of supernatural activities occurring nearby.
Just north of the Yume Forest lies the Muryo Shore, a beach notorious for its calming ambience. Shortly inland lays Reversal Volcano, the primary habitat of fire types in Shinri. Further north along shore you will find the entrance to the Grand Chasm, the site where a meteor once landed. This crater is only habitable to a handful of rare Pokémon. Just northwest of the Chasm reigns Mount Vertress.
Just north of Castelia Town lays two major regions, the Shigoto Wastes, and the Unison Plateau. The Shigoto Wastes are just north of Castelia. While seemingly barren, deep within its sands lays The Shrine of Light, an subterranean temple constructed many an ancient civilization. The Unison Plateau is home to Dragon Clans of Shinri, a tribal civilization dedicated to partnership with Shinri’s fearsome Dragons. It is said at the center of the Plateau lies an ancient power…
The final section of Shinri lays to the West, the Hakken Mountains. The player’s traversal of these lands has them primarily exploring the vast subterranean environments. The Aspertia Hills is the only above-ground location, acting as a base of operations. Go north and you’ll find yourself in one of two mountains, the electrified Chargestone Mountain, or the frosted Twist Mountain. In a small clearing in between the two Mountains lies the Shrine of Resolve. Far north of the Mountains lays an ancient structure known as Tower of Reform. There is no clear entrance, but the Dragon Clans tell tales that anyone who scale the tower would gain the power to shape the region itself.
Not too long after your arrival in Shinri, a Galarian man claiming to be descendant of the Hero of the Darkest Day arrives with an onslaught of elite trainers. As Galarian Royalty, the man attempts to enforce his rule over the Shinri Region, constructing a massive castle atop Mount Vertress. As the player, you assist two brothers in uniting Castelia Town against the Royal’s invasion. With the conflict growing dire, the Dragon Clans tell you the tale of a small island containing the Temple of Victory, which supposedly contains a secret power.

Region Name: Miraga (Faraway Island and Mirage Islands)
Mascot: Mew
Time Period: 40 years before Red and Blue/Ruby and Sapphire
Geography/Plot:
Faraway Island was originally named as a joke, due to how close it was to both the Kanto region and the Hoenn region. It was a common sightseeing spot for inhabitants of the two regions and vacationers in those regions alike, as it was an absolutely gorgeous island with the added benefit of supposedly being home to one of the first Pokemon to ever exist, the mysterious (and adorable) Mew. Of course, nobody had ever seen Mew themselves.

One day, a strange energy signal is detected on Faraway Island, and a team of scientists led by Head Researcher Fuji is dispatched to investigate. Upon reaching the island, however, the researchers immediately black out. When they awaken, they immediately realize that they are suddenly surrounded by islands that had not previously been known to exist, despite being absolutely packed with Pokemon in their various caves, forests, mountains, and plains. Upon further inspection, the intrepid scientists notice that none of the technology they brought with them, save for the GPS (which displays the unfortunate crew in the middle of the ocean, with not another landform in sight), their Pokeballs, and the team's newest recruit's experimental Pokemon research log, is working. Since he's the only one who can get the darn device to work, said newest recruit (one Samson Oak) is tasked with gathering information on the Pokemon inhabiting this strange place.

Sooner or later, young Samson Oak discovers what seem to be never-before-seen variants of previously known Pokemon, and notes that some even seem capable of evolving into entirely new Pokemon. After catching one of them, he hears a voice in his head, claiming to be Mew and informing him that the islands they are on are an illusion and that he and the rest of the research team are being tested to determine whether Mew wants to make itself known to humanity, but that young Oak cannot tell the rest of the team and must instead simply pass the test.

(At the end of the game, due to the actions of some of the less savory members of the research team, Mew would decide that no, it in fact wants to hide from humanity forever. It then teleports Faraway Island into the middle of the ocean, wipes the scientists' memories and teleports them back to Kanto, but leaves Samson Oak with his memory and appears to him and him alone from time to time.)

aint the best logo but damn it I tried

This legend takes place in Hoenn, around 1000 years before the events of Brandan and May's journeys. In the distant past, (unbound) Hoopa was freed from a temple in the region's deserts. It has been a massive issue for the region ever since, wrecking havoc for wherever it passes, using its portal to either teleport itself around the region or force others through space or time, causing wild Pokémon to go beserk, mind-controling other Pokémon and warping the weather around the region. However, it seems Hoopa is unable to leave the Hoenn region, due to some sort of Imprision Crystal binding it. Hoopa's main goal in the storyline is to find said crystal and destroy it so it could spread its destruction to other parts of the world.

The people of Hoenn have partially taken refugee in what today is Sootopolis, isolating themselves from the main region for safety's sake. Among these people, there has been a plan formed to defeat Hoopa, in searching for the Imprision Crystal and creating some sort of artifact to seal Hoopa's powers for good. These people, who call themselves the "Ironwilled", work together with a facility of Explorers in Sootopolis to get around the Hoenn region and look for the crystal.

However, another plan had been brought up by another group of people. A rare shooting star seems to be making its way to the Hoenn region, and these people, called the "Starstruck", plan on making a wish to the star to get rid of Hoopa. They go around the Hoenn region, looking for information about the tales surrounding said star to make sure that they can pinpoint when and where it will fall, alongside making sure it can even grant the wish.

The player character would have been transported to the region by one of Hoopa's rings, getting knocked unconcious but saved by the people of Sootopolis. From here on you could basically repeat the inro of Legends Arceus: Player does something to get the local people's attention and is tasked with helping them in their field searching. The story would mostly boil down to the player helping either group of people with moving their plans forward. As for the field itself, this is how the region is currently split:

PLH map.png

- Goshenite Plains, the part within the pink square. Compared to modern Hoenn, it does not have as much vegetation, and none of the cities exist yet. It is a vast, open field (most comparable to the Obsidian Fieldlands), with the northest part of the area having more hills and the midmost part having a forest. To the south of the continent's shore is a far away island, which players would only be able to access after they have the Surf ride. In said island, you can find the Ironwilled's base, alongside a cave with minerals and murals.

- Heliodor Shores, the part within the yellow area. Compared to modern Hoenn, the sea level is somewhat lower, and not as much of the land had been eroded yet, making it have more land than its modern-day counterpart, and it also has no cities. On the land side, a short section of a forest can be found at the northwest part of the area. Near that is a mountain, mostly surrounded by sea, but it is accesable by a land path. The Heliodor Shores would overall consist of sandy shores, with rocky paths and muddy low fields.

- Emerald Jungle, the part within the red area. Consists of a dense rainforest, having vegetation overtaking the place and even having lakes and swamps within the jungle itself. In it, you'll find tribes of people livin in the trees, who are skilled in living with nature so they refused to evacuate to Sootopolis. These tribes would later become Foretree City. As these people are more in touch with the wilderness, they have a better connection to the Pokémon surrounding them.

- Aquamarine Archipelago, the part within the red square. This part is mostly water, being relatively more flooded compared to its modern day counterpart. In here, the player would use their Surf ride to get from one island to the next, and most importantly, dive down to explore the ocean. Here you'd find many reefs and underwater ravines to explore, while on the surface you will find more people who decided to move away from the main continent to hide from Hoopa's rampage; as well as Starstruck people diving in search of submerged ruins. These people give origin to what would later become Pacifidlog.

- Morganite Mountains, the part within the turquoise square. This is the dryest area in the region, consisting of cliffs, mountains and a desert. Compared to modern Hoenn, it does not have any forest section bleeding into it, and Meteor Falls has a lot less craters. A primitive version of Fallarbor Town has been built and serves as the base of operations for the Starstruck, as they research fallen meteorites in hope of finding more answers regarding The Wish. The desert is where Hoopa is most often seen.

In each of these areas would reside a Pokémon mind-controlled by Hoopa, overlooking the area in search for the crystal (Stand-in for Nobles, basically). In every part of the region, players may run into Mirages, places that have been temporarely teleported whole by Hoopa. These include places such as Mirage Towers and Mirage Isles, and in them, players will find rare Pokémon and items, similar to Distortions in PLA. However, if the player were to stay for too long in a mirage spot, it would make Hoopa aware of their presence, causing Hoopa to send enraged Pokémon to attack the player.

Other than that, it is worth noting that the Hoenn region is characterized by its harsh weather. Places such as the Jungle, the Desert, the shores and the Mountains could very easily be written to have constant weather activity.

By the end of the game, Hoopa's mind-controlled mons would all have been defeated by the player and as such, Hoopa would come after you. This would also be around the time that the shooting star falls to Earth. Hoopa, to prevent the people from succeeding in making their wish, uses its controlling powers on the fallen star - which turns out to be an asleep Jirachi. (Jirachi being possessed could also be a new form for the mon). Hoopa then forces Jirachi to battle the player, and while the player would come out on top at the end, this battlecauses Jirachi to wake up. Hoopa wishes to find the Crystal, and the climax would come down to the player preventing Hoopa from reaching the crystal while both the Ironwilled and the Startstruck wish for Jirachi to help them. Jirachi would then use the crystal to make the Prision Bottle, confining Hoopa's malevolence and power while letting Hoopa live with a weaker, non-villainous form.
