My Thoughts:
Someone subbed this to my first Walrus and I'm just not going to check to see who it was, as I'm just lucky to have a sub from everyone at this point and this isn't going to determine who gets 1st through 3rd. Anyway it was one of the best songs from the last Walrus so here it is.

Player's Argument:
None of the music I listen to now slightly fits purple, so I went digging into some old playlists and found this classic. Purple exemplifies wealth and royalty, and this is a song idolising a woman like she's royalty herself (and there's a throwaway line about her being stacked). That aside, motown's totally purple in vibe anyway so this fits.

My Thoughts:
Definitely pompous and bombastic, but a little loose on the royalty angle. Still, this is a great song (this cat has a lot of great songs).

Player's Argument:
Purple is similar to pink since it relates to relationships, but it's more serious. Whereas pink might be about sex and love, purple is about romance, serious relationships, and the emotions involved. It's kind of hard to describe, but I also feel like purple should be more soulful, and this is chock-full of soul.

My Thoughts:
You're describing Red, but this is Purple because it's wrong. Damn fine song.

Purple for royalty, pride, and funk. Speaks for itself frankly.

Player's Argument:
A song which suggests light coming to darkness, and purple is often associated with the night sky. The disco elements also contribute to this song feeling purple.

My Thoughts:
Mostly giving this points for the funky disco sound and I'm not sure how strong that really is. But this is a sick song and I love full playing it.

purple is the color of royalty
and all the grandiose connotations that brings
here comes along a prince showing all his wealth and worth in a musical bop

My Thoughts:
Royalty just works so well because, aside from the historical connections, it's also the perfect intersection between arrogance and vice. This is indeed a bop.

purple is the color of p s y c h e d e l i c d r u g s and t r i p p i n g
i imagine this song is very much related to that. shoutouts to pills and hookah and mushrooms.

My Thoughts:
Wonder if anyone saw this podium coming. Definitely a drug song, whether that's definitively Purple I'm not sure, but everyone else seems to think so.

purple is a color of luxuriance and abundance, which is reflected well in this song which imo sounds very majestic and positively rich (not just because of the title lol)

My Thoughts:
Rad as fuck winner of this category. Hail to the King.

Closing out this walrus with another instance of "cheating" lmao but oh well, it was kind of a battle between two well-known songs for this one anyway. Purple is a regal color to me, associated with things like nobility and wealth, so have a song that, while not about a literal queen, still evokes all those fancy images.

My Thoughts:
Yeah I mean okay
