Metagame 2v2 Doubles

ok so i never played this before so i tried to make a team that has every combination of mons at least attempt to work

Deoxys-Attack @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot

- Thunderbolt
- Protect

Smeargle @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fake Out
- Psychic Terrain
- Follow Me
- Protect

Lucario @ Lucarionite
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Meteor Mash
- Bullet Punch

Victini @ Heat Rock
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Brave Nature

Deo-A + Smeargle: T1 Nasty Plot + Fake Out, T2 Protect + Psychic Terrain, T3+ Attack + Follow Me/Protect

Deo-A + Mega Lucario: Just attack the opponent until they die, you have two very hard hitting mons.

Deo-A + Victini: See above.

Smeargle + Mega Lucario: T1 Fake Out on Regular Lucario, T2 Follow Me + Swords Dance (Mega), T3+ Attack

Smeargle + Victini: T1 Fake Out + Trick Room, T2 Follow Me + Sunny Day, T3+ V-create

Mega Lucario + Victini: T1 Swords Dance + Trick Room, T2+ Bullet Punch + V-create

Nice team, but a few things:

Why Agility on Deo-A? I feel like it's speed tier is so considerably faster than most of the metagame (outside of Weather Boosted Mons) to be notable.

Also, you are extraordinarily weak to weather, especially Rain. Fake Out Smeargle is the only thing keeping your team from immediately dying to Mega Swampert. You also kinda lose to Oranguru + Mega Camerupt depending on how you play the matchup
I'm not a big fan of Trick Room Victini, Personally. I feel like it doesnt offer enough good bulk, considering its Fire-Typing, and a support in Smeargle doesnt seem that optimal, considering mons such as Zeraora Exist.

Heres a few things I would change:​

Amoonguss @ Wiki Berry
Ability: Effect Spore
EVs: 240 HP / 172 Def / 96 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Sludge Bomb / Giga Drain / Grass Knot
- Spore
- Rage Powder
- Protect

This helps your weather Matchup Massively. It also provides a secondary Defensive Backbone for your team, whilst also helping in synergizing well with Deoxys-A, utilizing Rage Powder to facilitate its offensive capability. Spore is also a godsend for your trick room matchup.

Deoxys Attack: Rash > Timid, Superpower > Agility

I feel like this helps w/ steels and etc a bit more, helping your Sand Matchup a bit, along with just being overall.. Better, IMO.


Mega Lopunny > Mega Lucario

Lopunny-Mega @ Lopunnite
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Frustration
- High Jump Kick
- Ice Punch

Its faster, Fake Out, Unresisted Coverage, and helps with the occasional Lando-T.

Amoon + TR Victini looks way better, imo, as spore and a water resist, along with redirection, helps significantly.

this team was more of a meme than anything but agility is supposed to counter dd and shit, i can probably replace that with np tho

the reason i specifically chose mega lucario were for steadfast pre-mega (i didn't word it correctly smeargle actually just fakes out lucario) and it is generally the hardest hitting thing with steadfast

amoonguss can't change because A no fake out and B no psychic terrain
