Changes from 2021 to 2022 Circuit
A few tournaments have been shifted around to better fit the schedule and to add in new tournaments throughout. Ubers Ladder Tournament was moved just a few weeks later to compensate for the gap in between it and any following tournaments as well as the possibility of an ubers open joining the circuit either this year or in any in the future, making this change an easy one to make that only allows us more room. If an ubers open does not happen, type C tournaments may find their way into timings around where we have availabilities based on the shifts.

The No Johns tournament has been moved to the end of circuit, where it will act as the last chance qualifier for the top 16. This feels more fitting of the fast paced high stakes tournament, so it slots right in nicely. Everything else has been moved slightly backwards to give it more time where it isn't overlapping with other tournaments.

Similar to how GSC had its kickoffs into the circuit last year, RBY is now having it's kickoff as well! Starting in February, this type C tournament will help integrate it into the circuit along with our winter team tour to grow the playerbase of an underexplored metagame for our circuit.

The second GSC tournament has also been changed to Ubers retro cup, a best of 3 RBY-GSC-ADV tournament, to keep GSC around but add a new format that gives both generations exposure and promotes skill in multiple generations similar to classic, but with the less played oldest 2 generations included.

Finally, Most Wanted has been replaced by the Ubers Winter Team Tournament, which is continuing this year at the same time and is projected to continue next year as well in its second iteration.

Tournament Information (Type A)
Seasonals: Large double elimination tournaments that feature the current generation of Ubers. Straightforward and simple.

Ladder Tournament: This tournament aims to give exposure to both upcoming players and veterans alike by having them compete to the top of the leaderboard on the Ubers Showdown ladder on newly made accounts. There will be 2 cycles, where the top 8 from both of them will enter a single elimination bracket to earn circuit points.

Tournament Information (Type B)
Classic: A tournament featuring five single elimination cups of old generation (USM / ORAS / BW2 / DPP / ADV) Ubers. The individual cups will not give points and will instead be scored in the form of a playoffs run, where those that make it in compete in a best of five series for Type B points.

Pentathlon: A Bo5 featuring the main older generations: USM / ORAS / BW2 / DPP / ADV. The loser of the first match, which is fixed to USM unless both players agree to a different generation, will then decide on the next generation to be played. All 5 generations must be played in a series, so there can be no repeats.

Homefield Advantage: Players sign up with a generation of their choice for a Bo3 single elimination tournament, with the first game locked to SS Ubers. The loser of that game then plays their opponent in the generation they signed up with - giving the "homefield advantage".

Live: This tournament comes in the form of live tournaments held on 2 days of a weekend over a 7 week period, similarly to the official Smogon Tour. SS Ubers will be the generation of choice for the first and last week, with our typical old generations (USM to ADV) featuring in between. This culminates with a playoffs to earn circuit points.

Last Chance Qualifier No Johns: A fast paced tournament with short deadlines featuring the current generation of Ubers.

Tournament Information (Type C)
RBY Ubers: A shorter type C tournament including RBY ubers, making its first major debut in our circuit. It will be best of 3, single elimination, and will help integrate it into our circuit.

Ubers Retro Cup: A best of 3 single elimination tournament featuring generations 1-3 of Ubers, hoping to give the oldest 3 more exposure and play in our circuit.

More Type Cs may be added as the year goes on!

Type A: Tournaments given a signficant weight in the circuit, with around one per season of the year. Doing well in Type A tournaments will be of the greatest help to a budding Championship contender.

Type B: Tournaments that tend to feature older generations of Ubers and can offer alternative metagames to gain circuit points in. Some Type B tournaments may still feature the current generation, but in a less weighted way than equivalent Type A tournaments. Successful play in Type B tournaments is still a good way to get extra points for entry to the Ubers Championship. Note that Type B tournament pay outs have decreased 25% from last year.

Type C: Type C tournaments aim to be a catch-all for tournaments in our circuit that feature Ubers play at its core. Live tournaments and other tournaments created with little advance warning such as a suspect tournament are also likely to be classed as Type C. Unofficial formats, ideas, and metagames may feature here. Type C tournaments should be seen as a small bonus towards a Championship run. Note that Type C tournament pay outs have decreased 25% from last year.

Hosting

Our circuit will need hosts to run the tournaments! Those looking to contribute to Ubers via tournament hosting should enquire with the Ubers moderation team. Contributors are eligible for the "Tournaments Contributor" role in the Ubers Discord as well as the Pre-Contributor / Community Contributor badges on Smogon if done consistently well.

We have a few updates to the circuit that I wanted to group together here:

First off which has already been changed in the OP, the RBY Ubers tour was moved 1 week later meaning signups are still up and about to close if anyone was interested but was confused on the week of where the tour initially was.

Secondly, Ubers open is back in! This will be a Type A tour in our circuit, with further details like the host and the exact starting date being added as that information is released. Slam is set to start March 21st meaning Ubers open will probably happen one of the next 3 weeks or so following it, as just a rough guideline. Signups will be here when the tour is live.

Finally, Ubers Premier League now gives a custom avatar as a prize for winning, courtesy of Teclis! As a team, the winners will be able to decide what they want their custom to look like and be able to get one for everyone's main PS! account. This was changed from World Cup of last year, where the approval was just delayed past UPL time into the end of the year so it was used as the main tournament for the prize, but now for the foreseeable future UPL will award our forum's prize for the year.

re: ubers seasonal dropouts

Skooma dropped out of round 8 winners of Ubers seasonal. This was done in line with dropping out of OMGS finals and other tours as a trolling attempt, and he has been tourbanned. This goes without saying, but he is temporarily banned from the Ubers circuit as well, for 3 months after winter seasonal ended. (Until the weekend of July 23rd)

DNNP dropped out of losers finals of Ubers seasonal. He will also be barred from participating in Ubers circuit tours for 3 months after winter seasonal ended, and infracted for unsportsmanlike conduct.

re: maxhooij

maxhooij missed the scheduled time for ubers seasonal round 1, but was found to have deleted messages on their wall which included proof of their opponent being online as well as an activity call against them tagging the host. This goes against the Smogon tournament rules regarding deleting communication during scheduling, and as such maxhooij will be banned from Ubers circuit tournaments for 3 months as well as infracted for unsportsmanlike conduct.
