Welcome to the first ever VaporeMons forum tournament! This tournament will serve as the grand finale to VaporeMons' time on the main server as it comes to an end at the end of the month, so we'd like to take one more good look at the metagame we've built before we go!
What is VaporeMons?
VaporeMons is a Gen 9-OU based mod where numerous new and edited moves, items, and abilities, along with non-stat changes to Pokemon, have been added to the game through community votes in order to shake up the metagame. While some parts of VaporeMons are still pretty similar to OU, there are a number of big differences between two without even talking about all the new stuff that's been added, namely the following:
- Terastallization is illegal - There is an item that has a similar but much weaker effect (Tera Shard)
- Light Clay is banned
- A ton of Ubers have been unbanned, whether due to being nerfed, more balanced due to a lack of Tera, or becoming balanced because of how the meta shaped itself. The unbanned Ubers are: Archaludon, Baxcalibur, Espathra, Landorus, Magearna, Ogerpon-Hearthflame, Palafin, Regieleki, Sneasler, and Terapagos

Tournament Specific Rules
- All general rules apply. Click here for guidelines about scheduling matches.
- Matches are Best of 3, which means that the first person to win two games wins the set and moves on in the tournament.
- Matches are to be played in the Main Pokemon Showdown Server, unless told otherwise. Since the tournament will run into March and the next PMOTS period, I will update you on any changes that have to be made.
- Replays are mandatory. It's highly recommended that you both upload AND download the replay, for preservation purposes.
- If metagame changes occur during the middle of a round (such as balance changes), they will take effect in the next round.
- This is a single elimination tournament.
- The winner of the tournament receives $20 USD (graciously being provided by zxgzxg), which will be sent through PayPal (PayPal account required to receive it).
Identity
About playing on alts: It is entirely allowed to play on an alt other than your own main forum name, though if your opponent wishes to confirm your identity, you must log on to your main alt to show them you are who you claim to be. This is to prevent people from pretending to be who they're not.
Scouting
On scouting opponents: Going through your opponents replays of tournament and ladder games is entirely allowed, as long as a game is public there is nothing preventing you from watching it. An exception to this is abusing powers granted to you by being staff on Smogon or PS! to gain access to information a normal user wouldn't have access to, which is strictly forbidden.
On leaking teams: Divulging private information about someone's planned team to their opponent is never allowed, and will be heavily sanctioned. Requesting that such information be divulged is also grounds for punishment. Keep your scouting to publicly available information and you'll be fine.
Timer Clause / Disconnections
On Timeout losses: A player that loses by having all his time run out loses the game. This is only not the case if the player that received the timeout loss can be verified to have suffered a True Disconnection. Rematches are only allowed if there was a True Disconnection.
On True Disconnection: The TD team has a secret threshold of seconds that your timer must be at or above, from the moment you disconnect, for a timeout loss to be considered a True disconnection.
