1v1 Mega Tyranitar [QC 3/3 ] [GP 1/1]

OVERVIEW:

Mega Tyranitar is a slow, bulky offense-based Pokemon, which is capable of tanking powerful super effective moves from Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Kyurem-B, and Tapu Lele and KOing them back. It has a 164 Base Attack stat, one of the best available for the 1v1 metagame, with access to strong STAB moves in Stone Edge and Crunch, coverage moves like Iron Head, Fire Punch, Superpower, and Earthquake, and utility moves like Dragon Dance and Taunt, which allow it to take on a large number of Pokemon in the 1v1 metagame such as Mega Gyarados, Kyurem-B, Tapu Koko, Mega Charizard X and Y, Dragonite, Genesect, Greninja and Heatran, and defeat them. It has good 100 / 150 / 120 bulk, with a fantastic ability in Sand Stream, raising Mega Tyranitar's Special Defense. With appropriate investment, this lets Mega Tyranitar tank up to 2 Outrages from Kyurem-B, a +1 Waterfall from Mega Gyarados, a Gigavolt Havoc from Tapu Koko, a couple of Moonblast from Tapu Lele, Special Attack Download-boosted Choice Specs Bug Buzz from Genesect, and Choice Specs Hydro Cannon from Greninja, to name a few. Its typing also gives it key resistances to Fire-, Normal-, and Ghost-types like Mega Charzard X and Y, Porygon-Z, and Mega Gengar and gives it an immunity to Psychic-type moves from Pokemon like Latios. However, Rock is a weak defensive typing, and Mega Tyranitar has difficulty getting around stall because it has to give up arguably more valuable coverage in order to do so. Mega Tyranitar is also a slow Pokemon, and this presents major drawbacks in its usage.

SET 1 [ All-out Offense ]:
Tyranitar-Mega @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 76 Atk / 84 Def / 100 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Rock Tomb / Stone Edge
- Crunch / Fire Punch
- Earthquake / Iron Head
- Superpower / Low Kick

SET COMMENTS:
Moves:

Either Rock Tomb or Stone Edge can be used as STAB moves. While Stone Edge hits harder and KOes foes like Kyurem-B and bulky Mega Charizard X, Rock Tomb slows down faster foes like Dragonite and Magnezone, allowing Mega Tyranitar to KO them in the consecutive turns. Also, Rock Tomb is more reliable because of higher accuracy, though Stone Edge has a higher critical hit ratio. Crunch or Fire Punch can be used. Crunch can be used as a STAB move to defeat Psychic- and Ghost-type Pokemon like Meloetta and Mega Gengar, while Fire Punch can be used to hit Steel-type Pokemon like Genesect, Ferrothorn, and Celesteela. Earthquake is in this set to KO Electric and some Steel-types like Tapu Koko, Magnezone, and Heatran. Iron Head gives it a better match up against Fairy-type Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Mega Diancie, and it also has a chance of flinching foes, which could help it win against Golem where Mega Tyranitar can cause Golem to flinch on the first turn and proceed to KO Golem with Superpower. Either Low Kick or Superpower can be used according to the Pokemon needed to be KOed by Mega Tyranitar. The aforementioned moves take care of some Normal- and Dark-type Pokemon like Porygon-Z, Mega Gyarados, and opposing Mega Tyranitar. Superpower provides a consistent Base Power but lowers Mega Tyranitar's Defense, while Low Kick varies in Base Power, but doesn't compromise on Defence stat which is necessary for some match-ups like Mega Gyarados.

Set Details:
248 HP and 64 Defense EVs allows Mega Tyranitar to tank a couple of Outrages from Kyurem-B, and a +1 Waterfall from Adamant maximum Attack Mega Gyarados. The 100 Special Defence EVs investment with Sand Stream as the ability helps it to tank a Special Attack Download-boosted Choice Specs Bug Buzz from Genesect and a Choice Specs Protean-boosted Hydro Cannon from Greninja. The remaining 76 EVs are put into Attack which, when coupled with an Adamant nature, help KO Pokemon like Kyurem-B, Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizard X and Y, Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Magnezone, Genesect, and Greninja.

Usage Tips:
Since Mega Tyranitar is a Rock- and Dark-type Pokemon, it is advisable to send it against Bug-, Fire-, Flying-, Ghost-, Ice-, and Psychic-types like Mega Pinsir, Genesect, Mega Charizard X and Y, Heatran, Dragonite, Mega Gengar, Aegislash, Kyurem-B, and Meloetta.
Mega Tyranitar can also be used against some special attackers like Magnezone and Greninja because Mega Tyranitar is able to tank a Corkscrew Crash from Magnezone as well as a Choice Specs Hydro Cannon from Greninja. Try to avoiding bringing it against Fighting- and Ground-type Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Mega Blaziken, Mega Heracross, Landorus-T and Garchomp, since Mega Tyranitar has nothing in its moveset to KO both these types, and it also gets defeated easily. Try to avoid sending Mega Tyranitar against Tapu Lele because it usually uses Z-Reflect on the first turn and 3HKOes Mega Tyranitar with Moonblast while Mega Tyranitar cannot 3HKO Tapu Lele in return through Reflect even with Sandstorm damage. Also, don't bring it against bulky Water-type Pokemon like Primarina, Tapu Fini, and Mega Blastoise because these Pokemon are bulky enough to tank a couple of attacks from Mega Tyranitar even after Sandstorm damage, and can KO back with their own attacks.
Team Options:
Since Mega Tyranitar is weak to Ground-type attacks from Pokemon like Garchomp and Landorus-T and Pokemon with Sturdy like Donphan and Golem, bulky Pokemon like Mega Heracross or fast Pokemon like Kyurem-B can be used to counter said threats. In this context, fast Mega Heracross can be used as well. These Pokemon can take advantage of Mega Tyranitar's ability to KO its common counters like Tapu Koko and bulky Mega Charizard Y. Since Fighting-type Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Heracross can KO Mega Tyranitar easily, Fairy-type checks like Magearna and Primarina can be used. Here, bulky Primarina finds better usage because it can additionally be used to KO Sturdy users and in turn, lure Magnezone for Mega Tyranitar to defeat. Since Mega Tyranitar is vulnerable to stall Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Mega Sableye, Mega Aggron, and Pyukumuku, stallbreakers like Tapu Koko, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Gardevoir can be used. Since Mega Tyranitar is weak to bulky Water- and Grass-type Pokemon like Primarina, Mega Swampert, and Tapu Fini, bulky Grass-type Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn can be used.
SET 2 [ Anti-Mimikyu ]:

Tyranitar-Mega @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Atk / 72 Def / 144 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Taunt / Dragon Dance
- Iron Head
- Rock Tomb
- Earthquake

SET COMMENTS:
Moves:

Either Taunt or Dragon Dance can be used on this set. While Taunt helps in shutting down stall Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Dragon Dance can be used to set up against Pokemon like Dragonite while Sand Stream breaks Multiscale with subsequent attacks from Mega Tyranitar defeating them. Iron Head can be used to have a better chance against Fairy-types like Tapu Lele and Mimikyu. Iron Head also has a chance of flinching, which could help it win against match-ups like Golem where it can cause Golem to flinch on the first turn and follow up with Earthquake to KO Golem. Rock Tomb is used to KO Ice- and Fire-type Pokemon like Kyurem-B and Mega Charizard . It can also be used to reduce the Speed stat of faster Pokemon like Mimikyu. Earthquakeallows Mega Tyranitar to hit Steel-type Pokemon like Magearna as well as Electric-types such as Tapu Koko
Set Details:
252 HP and 72 Defense EVs help it tank a couple of Outrages from Kyurem-B and a Let's Snuggle Forever from Adamant maximum Attack Mimikyu. The 144 EVs in Speed are invested to outspeed Jolly maximum speed Mimikyu after a Rock Tomb drop, because it is needed against Curse Mimikyu. The remaining 44 Attack EVs coupled with an Adamant nature allow Mega Tyranitar to KO its intended targets like Kyurem-B, Mega Charizard X and Y, and most importantly, Mimikyu. The Special Defense boost due to Sand Stream helps Mega Tyranitar tank a Timid Choice Specs Hydro Cannon from Greninja.

Usage Tips:
Since Mega Tyranitar is a Rock- and Dark-type Pokemon, it is advisable to send it against Bug-, Fire-, Flying-, Ghost-, Ice-, and Psychic-type Pokemon like Genesect, Mega Charizard X and Y, Dragonite, Mimikyu, Aegislash, Kyurem-B, and Meloetta. Mega Tyranitar can also be used against some special attackers like Magnezone and Greninja because Mega Tyranitar is able to tank a Corkscrew Crash from Magnezone as well as a Choice Specs Hydro Cannon from Timid Greninja. Try to avoid bringing it against Fighting-, Water-, and Ground-type Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Mega Lopunny, Mega Heracross, Landorus-T and Garchomp, since Mega Tyranitar has nothing in its moveset to KO both the types and is also defeated easily by them. Also, don't bring it against bulky Water-type Pokemon like Primarina, Tapu Fini and Mega Blastoise because these Pokemon are bulky enough to tank a couple of attacks from Mega Tyranitar even after Sandstorm damage and can KO back with their own attacks.

Team Options:
Since Mega Tyranitar is weak to Ground-type moves from Pokemon like Garchomp and Landorus-T and Pokemon with Sturdy like Donphan and Golem, bulky Pokemon like Mega Heracross or fast Pokemon like Kyurem-B can be used to counter these threats. In this context, fast Mega Heracross can be used as well. These Pokemon can take advantage of Mega Tyranitar's ability to KO its commonly used counters like Tapu Koko and bulky Mega Charizard Y. Since Fighting-type Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Heracross can KO Mega Tyranitar easily, Fairy-types like Magearna and Primarina can be used. Here, bulky Primarina finds better usage because it can additionally be used to KO Sturdy users and, in turn, lure Magnezone for Mega Tyranitar to KO. Since Mega Tyranitar is weak to Water-, Grass-, and Fairy-type attacks from Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Mega Vensaur, and Tapu Fini, Mega Venusaur can be used to counter these weaknesses. Mega Tyranitar can also be cover Mega Venusaur's Flying- and Psychic-type weaknesses except Tapu Lele. Since Mega Tyranitar is not able to KO physically defensive stall Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Mega Sableye, Mega Aggron, and Pyukumuku, which are capable of KOing Mega Tyranitar, stallbreakers like Tapu Koko, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Gardevoir can be used. Since Mega Tyranitar can be used against most Fire-type Pokemon, Pokemon that are weak to Fire like Magearna and Jirachi can be used as teammates.

STRATEGY COMMENTS:
Other Options:

A fully defensive set with Counter or Foul Play can be used against Pokemon like Garchomp and Mega Gyarados, but this can be countered by setup from the mentioned Pokemon. As a soft check to Ground-type Pokemon, Avalanche with enough defensive investment to survive a STAB Earthquake from Landorus-T can be used, but again this is susceptible to setup, which can't be countered using Mega Tyranitar.

Checks And Counters:
  • Fighting-types: Fighting-type Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Heracross counter Mega Tyranitar because Mega Tyranitar is 4x weak to Fighting.
  • Grass-types : Most Grass-type Pokemon are either bulky enough to tank Mega Tyranitar's attacks, like Mega Venusaur, while some others are faster than Mega Tyranitar, like Kartana.
  • Water-types: While Mega Tyranitar is able to check Mega Gyarados, many other commonly used Water-type Pokemon like Primarina and Tapu Fini are able to KO Mega Tyranitar without being KOed by it because of their good defenses.
  • Steel-types: Steel-type Pokemon like Mega Mawile and Mega Metagross are able to KO Mega Tyranitar with their strong STAB moves.
  • Stall: Mega Tyranitar is vulnerable to physically defensive stall Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Mega Sableye, Mega Aggron, and Pyukumuku, which are able to survive Tyranitar’s attacks and PP stall or defeat it with Leech Seed or Toxic.

OVERVIEW:

  • Mega Tyranitar is a slow, bulky offense-based Pokemon, which is capable of tanking powerful super effective moves from Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Kyurem-B, Tapu Lele, and KO them back.
  • It has 164 Base Attack stat, with access to strong STAB moves in Stone Edge and Crunch, coverage moves like Iron Head, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Superpower, and Earthquake, and utility moves like Dragon Dance, Taunt, Thunder Wave, and Hone Claws, which allows it to take on a large number of Pokemon in the 1v1 metagame and defeat them. While stating the 164 Atk stat also emphasize on it being extremely high.
  • It has defensive stats of 100 HP / 150 Defense / 120 Special Defence, with a fantastic ability in Sand Stream, which raises the Special Defence of Rock-type Pokemon. With appropriate investment, This lets Mega Tyranitar tank upto 2 Outrage from Kyurem-B, a +1 Waterfall from Mega Gyarados, a Gigavolt Havoc from Tapu Koko, a couple of Moonblast from Tapu Lele, Special Attack downloaded Choice Specs Bug Buzz from Genesect, and Choice Specs Hydro Cannon Greninja, to name a few.
  • Also mention about its typing; offers resistance to Fire, Normal, Ghost with immunity to Psychic then mention an example of a Pokemon of each of those types (Zard, Marowak, Porygon-Z, Aegi, Latios)
  • However, it is weak to Fighting-, Ground-, and Water-type Pokemon like Landorus-T, Garchomp, Sawk, Mega Lopunny, Mega Blaziken, Primarina and Tapu Fini. It is also unable to attack Physically bulky Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Mega Slowbro, Pyukumuku, and Mega Aggron. Also include Steel-type being SE since its a common offensive type then give examples: Mega Metagross/Durant/MMawile. State that its quad weak to Fight, and also rephrase It is also unable to attack Physically bulky Pokemon to cannot defeat them as technically it can attack them.
SET 1 [ Mega Tyranitar ]: To differentiate the sets, name the first one All-Out Attacker or Bulky Attacker or something and the second one Dragon Dance or something like that

Tyranitar-Mega @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 76 Atk / 84 Def / 100 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Rock Tomb / Stone Edge
- Crunch / Fire Punch
- Earthquake
- Superpower / Iron Head
(Spacing in slashing)

SET COMMENTS:
Moves:

  • Either Rock Tomb or Stone Edge can be used in this set as Rock-type STAB moves. While Stone Edge hits harder and KOs opponents like Kyurem-B and Bulky Mega Charizard X, Rock Tomb slows down faster opponents like Dragonite, Magnezone and Air Balloon Heatran to KO them in the consecutive turns. (// Heatran can't do anything so that's not a reason for having Rock Tomb; Zone too unless Steel Z so let that be there | Scarf Kyurem-B loses anyway to Rock Tomb too and you lose to bulky Icium Z anyway since SE doesn't OHKO while Subzero + Outrage KOes so specify the reasons for using SE over RT and vice versa with some other examples which affect the result) You should also mention that Rock Tomb is more reliable because of higher accuracy and Stone Edge's crit + miss chance
  • Fire Punch, Crunch or Thunder Punch can used alternatively used. Fire Punch can be used to hit Steel-type Pokemon like Genesect, Ferrothorn and Celesteela, while Crunch can be used for STAB to defeat Psychic- and Ghost-type Pokemon like Meloetta and better example Aegislash Mega Gengar. I don't think that Thunder Punch is that good so maybe remove it or if you want it to be there then give some examples of what it hits (Not Greninja and others which are hit by Stone Edge with the same damage). It just doesn't seem worth a slot. Also slash Crunch before Fire Punch then guve its info here before FP as it is more useful (and Stone Edge does nearbout the same damage as FP vs Celesteela)
  • Earthquake is in this set to KO Electric-type and some Steel-type Pokemon like Tapu Koko, Magnezone and Heatran.
  • Superpower or Iron Head can be alternatively used according to the needed coverage. While Superpower takes care of some Normal-type and Dark-type Pokemon like Porygon-Z, Mega Gyarados and Mega Tyranitar itself, Iron Head gives it a better match up against Fairy-type Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Mega Diancie. Also mention Iron Head's flinch chance which may be helpful if TTar gets it against Golem then it can follow up with EQ to win. See if there's any other such matchup or not, then add if yes
Set Details:
  • The 248 HP/ 84 Defence investment helps it tank a couple of Outrage from Kyurem-B, and a +1 Waterfall from Adamant 252 Atk Mega Gyarados.
  • The 248 HP/ 100 Special Defence EVs investment with a Sand Stream as the ability helps it in tanking a Special Attack Downloaded Choice Specs Bug Buzz from Genesect, and a Choice Specs Protean Hydro Cannon from Greninja.
  • The remaining 76 EVs are put into Attack which, when coupled with a Adamant nature, help in KOing Pokemonn like Kyurem-B, Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizards, Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Magnezone, Genesect, and Greninja.
A query, can Ttar defeat Mdos without Superpower? If no then either slash Iron Head with Fpunch or somewhere else so that you make use of the EV investment.

Usage Tips:

  • Since Mega Tyranitar is a Rock- and Dark-type Pokemon, it is advisable to send it against Bug-, Fire-, Flying-, Ghost-, Ice-, and Psychic-type Pokemon like Mega Pinsir, Genesect, Mega Charizard, Heatran, Dragonite, Mega Gengar, Aegislash, Kyurem-B, and Meloetta.
  • Mega Tyranitar can also be used against Magnezone because Mega Tyranitar is able to tank a Corkscrew Crash from Magnezone, while it can use Rock Tomb followed by Earthquake to finish it.
  • While using against Mega Gyarados, start with Low Kick because most Gyarados users Mega evolve turn 1. After that, if the trainer hadn't Mega evolved, follow up with the Rock-type STAB you have, and if he has Mega evolved, use Low Kick again. Since Mega Gyarados would have taken Sandstorm damage for the two turns, this usually KO's Mega Gyarados. You mean Superpower here I think
  • Try to avoiding bringing it against Fighting- and Ground-type Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Mega Blaziken, Mega Heracross, Landorus-T and Garchomp, since this Mega Tyranitar has nothing in its moveset to KO both the types. Or rather they can easily KO it
  • Also, don't bring it against Bulky Water-type Pokemon like Primarina, Tapu Fini and Mega Blastoise because, even though you might have Thunder Punch, these Pokemon are bulky enough to tank a couple of them even after Sandstorm damage. I don't see the purpose of having TPunch now really
Team Options:
  • Since Mega Tyranitar is weak to Ground-type Pokemon like Garchomp and Landorus-T, and Pokemon with Sturdy like Donphan and Golem, bulky Pokemon like Mega Heracross or fast Pokemon like Kyurem-B can be used to counter. In this context, fast Mega Heracross can be used as well. These Pokemon can take advantage of Mega Tyranitar being able to KO its commonly used counters like Tapu Koko and bulky Mega Charizard Y.
  • Since Fighting-type Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham, Mega Blaziken and Mega Heracross can kill Mega Tyranitar easily, Fairy-type Pokemon like Magearna and Primarina can be used. Here, bulky Primarina finds better usage because it can additionally be used to KO Sturdy Pokemon, and in turn, lure Magnezone for Mega Tyranitar to kill. Don't use kill
  • Since Mega Tyranitar is vulnerable to stall Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Mega Sableye, Mega Aggron and Pyukumuku, stallbreakers like Tapu Koko or Mega Charizard Y can be used. Add in an answer to Mega Aggron too
SET 2 [ Mega Tyranitar ]:
Tyranitar-Mega @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 72 Def / 188 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Taunt / Dragon Dance
- Crunch / Iron Head
- Rock Tomb
- Earthquake
(Slashes Spacing)

SET COMMENTS:
Moves:

  • Either Taunt or Dragon Dance can be used on this set. While Taunt helps in shutting down stall Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and Mega Slowbro, Dragon Dance can be used to set up against Pokemon like Dragonite while Sand Stream reduces the HP from Multiscale or similar ability's effect and subsequent turns can KO the Pokemon.
  • Crunch is here for the STAB, and also for KOing Psychic-type Pokemon like Meloetta. Iron Head can also be used to have a better chance against Fairy-type Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Mimikyu. (Crunch lets you defeat Mega Slowbro if you have Taunt) Iron Head flinch once again
  • Rock Tomb is here to KO Ice-type and Fire-type Pokemon like Kyurem-B and Mega Charizard. It can also be used to reduce Speed of faster Pokemon like Mimikyu. There's more like Mega Pinsir
  • Earthquake is here to have better coverage against Steel-type Pokemon like Magearna and Electric-type Pokemon like Tapu Koko.
Set Details:
  • The 248 HP/ 72 Defence helps it tank a couple of Outrage from Kyurem-B, and a Twinkle Tackle from Adamant 252 Atk Mimikyu.
  • The 188 Speed EVs is are invested to outspeed max speed Mimikyu after a Rock Tomb, because it is needed against Curse Mimikyu. It actually reaches 337, is this for something else too? Otherwise you can put the surplus EVs in Attack
  • The Adamant nature increases the attack to an extent which allows Mega Tyranitar to KO its intended targets like Kyurem-B, Mega Charizards, and most importsntly, Mimikyu.
  • Mention Sand Stream
  • Again Iron Head is a must have here because the EVs are for Mimikyu so don't slash it or recommend a different spread if not using Iron Head
Usage Tips:
  • Since Mega Tyranitar is a Rock- and Dark-type Pokemon, it is advisable to send it against Bug-, Fire-, Flying-, Ghost-, Ice-, and Psychic-type Pokemon like Mega Pinsir, Genesect, Mega Charizard, Heatran, Dragonite, Mega Gengar Mimikyu, Aegislash, Kyurem-B, and Meloetta.
  • Mega Tyranitar can also be used against Magnezone because Mega Tyranitar is able to tank a Corkscrew Crash from Magnezone, while it can use Rock Tomb followed by Earthquake to finish it.
  • Try to avoiding bringing it against Fighting-, Water-, and Ground-type Pokemon like Mega Gyarados,Mega Lopunny, Mega Heracross, Landorus-T and Garchomp, since this Mega Tyranitar has nothing in its moveset to KO both the types. They can KO it (Same note as in the earlier one)
  • Since Mega Tyranitar is weak to Water-, Grass-, and Fairy-type Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Mega Vensaur and Tapu Fini, Mega Venusaur can be used to counter these weaknesses. Mega Tyranitar can also be cover Mega Venusaur's Flying- and Psychic-type weaknesses except Tapu Lele.
  • Since Mega Tyranitar is vulnerable to stall Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Mega Sableye, Mega Aggron and Pyukumuku, stallbreakers like Tapu Koko or Mega Charizard Y can be used. Keep in mind that it can go for Taunt in this set so change accordingly.
  • Add in a line: Mega TTar is a reliable counter to both Mega Charizard formes so Pokemon weak to them like Magearna,...,... appreciate having it in their team
STRATEGY COMMENTS:
Other Options:

  • A fully defensive set with Counter and/or Foul Play can be used against Pokemon like Garchomp and Mega Gyarados, but this can be countered by set-up from the mentioned Pokemon.
  • As a lowkey check to Ground-type Pokemon, Avalanche with enough defencive investment to survive STAB moves from Landorus-T can be used, but again this is susceptible to setting up KOing, which cant be countered using Mega Tyranitar.
  • Another option is a Rockium Z Tyranitar, because it is able to kill bulky Mega Charizard X and bulky Kyurem-B, while being able to tank their attacks confortably.
  • Give set options for Thunder Wave, Thunder Punch, Hone Claws as they were mentioned in the overview
  • I've seen Low Kick so maybe that and mention why Superpower fares out to be better
Checks And Counters:
  • Fighting-type Pokemon: Fighting-type Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Heracross counters Mega Tyranitar because Fighting is doubly super-effective against Mega Tyranitar. so they can OHKO it with ease
  • Grass-type Pokemon: Most Grass-type Pokemon are either bulky enough to tank Mega Tyranitar's attack, like Mega Venusaur, while some others are faster than Mega Tyranitar, like Kartana. So, Mega Tyranitar is countered by Grass-type as well, owing also to the fact that Grass-type is super effective against Mega Tyranitar.
  • Water-type Pokemon: While Mega Tyranitar is able to counter check Mega Venusaur Gyarados?, many other commonly used Water-type Pokemon like Primarina and Tapu Fini are able to KO Mega Tyranitar without being KOed by it because of its their good defences and its super-effectiveness against it. Super effective STAB
  • Add in Bulky Stall Pokemon
  • Include powerful, bulky attackers like Mega Aggron, Mega Metagross

SET COMMENTS:
Moves:

  • Either Rock Tomb or Stone Edge can be used in this set as STAB moves. While Stone Edge hits harder and KOs opponents like Kyurem-B and Bulky Mega Charizard X, Rock Tomb slows down faster opponents like Dragonite, Magnezone and to KO them in the consecutive turns. Also, Rock Tomb is more reliable because of higher accuracy, though Stone Edge has a higher critical hit ratio.
  • Crunch or Fire Punch can be alternatively used. Crunch can be used for STAB to defeat Psychic- and Ghost-type Pokemon like Meloetta and Mega Gengar, while Fire Punch can be used to hit Steel-type Pokemon like Genesect, Ferrothorn and Celesteela
  • Earthquake is in this set to KO Electric-type and some Steel-type Pokemon like Tapu Koko, Magnezone and Heatran. Iron Head gives it a better match up against Fairy-type Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Mega Diancie. Iron Head also has a chance of flinching, which could help it win against match-ups like Golem where it can flinch turn 1 and follow up with Superpower to KO Golem.
  • Superpower can be alternatively used according to the needed coverage. Superpower takes care of some Normal-type and Dark-type Pokemon like Porygon-Z, Mega Gyarados and Mega Tyranitar itself.
Set Details:
  • The 248 HP/ 84 Defence investment helps it tank a couple of Outrage from Kyurem-B, and a +1 Waterfall from Adamant 252 Atk Mega Gyarados.
  • The 248 HP/ 100 Special Defence EVs investment with Sand Stream as the ability helps it in tanking a Special Attack Downloaded Choice Specs Bug Buzz from Genesect, and a Choice Specs Protean Hydro Cannon from Greninja.
A Steelium Z Magnezone would use Electroweb into Corkscrew Crash more than likely with some speed investment, although Steelium Z itself is rare and probably doesn't deserve a mention anyways. I'd expand this section to include more special attackers in general like, Tapu Lele, Greninja, etc.
  • While using against Mega Gyarados, start with Superpower because most Gyarados users Mega evolve turn 1. After that, if the trainer hadn't Mega evolved, follow up with the Rock-type STAB you have, and if he has Mega evolved, use Superpower again. Since Mega Gyarados would have taken Sandstorm damage for the two turns, this usually KO's Mega Gyarados. This doesn't make sense? Superpower doesn't guarentee a KO on Mega Gyarados, so purposefully using Superpower to lower your defense guarantees that as long as Gyarados dragon dances into waterfall it wins.
    +1 252 Atk Mold Breaker Gyarados-Mega Waterfall vs. -1 248 HP / 84 Def Tyranitar-Mega: 444-524 (110.1 - 130%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • Try to avoiding bringing it against Fighting- and Ground-type Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Mega Blaziken, Mega Heracross, Landorus-T and Garchomp, since this Mega Tyranitar has nothing in its moveset to KO both these types, and also because it gets defeated easily.
  • Also, don't bring it against Bulky Water-type Pokemon like Primarina, Tapu Fini and Mega Blastoise because these Pokemon are bulky enough to tank a couple of attacks even after Sandstorm damage.
Here, bulky Primarina finds better usage because it can additionally be used to KO Sturdy Pokemon, and in turn, lure Magnezone for Mega Tyranitar to defeat.
  • Since Mega Tyranitar is vulnerable to stall Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Mega Sableye, Mega Aggron and Pyukumuku, stallbreakers like Tapu Koko or Mega Charizard Y can be used.
  • Add some pokemon that can beat Bulky Water types like Magnezone, Mega Venusaur, etc.
SET 2 [ Anti-Mimikyu ]:
Tyranitar-Mega @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 40 Atk / 72 Def / 148 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Taunt / Dragon Dance
- Iron Head
- Rock Tomb
- Earthquake

SET COMMENTS:
Moves:

  • Either Taunt or Dragon Dance can be used on this set. While Taunt helps in shutting down stall Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Dragon Dance can be used to set up against Pokemon like Dragonite while Sand Stream reduces the HP from Multiscale or similar ability's effect, with subsequent turns defeating them.
  • Iron Head can be used to have a better chance against Fairy-type Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Mimikyu. Iron Head also has a chance of flinching, which could help it win against match-ups like Golem where it can flinch turn 1 and follow up with Earthquake to KO Golem.
  • Rock Tomb is here to KO Ice-type and Fire-type Pokemon like Kyurem-B and Mega Charizard. It can also be used to reduce Speed of faster Pokemon like Mimikyu.
  • The 188 Speed is invested to outspeed max speed Mimikyu after a Rock Tomb, because it is needed against Curse Mimikyu. You mean 148 speed, but also you have an extra Speed EV for no reason. At 144 speed, Mega Tyranitar reaches 214 speed, while a -1 mimikyu full speed is stuck at 213. So either move that ev in to attack or explain why you're outspeeding base 97s like Haxorus, Luvdisc, Sigiliyph, and Raticate
  • The Adamant nature increases the attack to an extent which allows Mega Tyranitar to KO its intended targets like Kyurem-B, Mega Charizards, and most importsntly, Mimikyu.
  • The Special Defence boost due to Sand Stream helps Mega Tyranitar in tanking a Choice Specs Hydro Cannon from Greninja.
252+ SpA Choice Specs Greninja Hydro Cannon vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Tyranitar-Mega in Sand: 390-462 (96.7 - 114.6%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO Not the best roll, but I'd still specify timid Specs Gren and not modest.
Usage Tips:
  • Since Mega Tyranitar is a Rock- and Dark-type Pokemon, it is advisable to send it against Bug-, Fire-, Flying-, Ghost-, Ice-, and Psychic-type Pokemon like Mega Pinsir, Genesect, Mega Charizard, Heatran, Dragonite, Mimikyu, Aegislash, Kyurem-B, and Meloetta.
  • Mega Tyranitar can also be used against Magnezone because Mega Tyranitar is able to tank a Corkscrew Crash from Magnezone, while it can use Rock Tomb followed by Earthquake to finish it. Same as above
  • Try to avoiding bringing it against Fighting-, Water-, and Ground-type Pokemon like Mega Gyarados,Mega Lopunny, Mega Heracross, Landorus-T and Garchomp, since this Mega Tyranitar has nothing in its moveset to KO both the types, and also because it gets defeated easily by these two types.
  • Mention it being able to break certain stall-type pokemon such as Mega Venusaur because of taunt here because that's different than just attacking.
  • Since Mega Tyranitar is vulnerable to Physically defensive stall Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Mega Sableye, Mega Aggron and Pyukumuku, which are capable of KOing Mega Tyranitar with their moves I think you mean to say that Tyranitar isn't able to KO these Stall pokemon. But again this weird because taunt allows you to beat at least MVenu and Pyuk, stallbreakers like Tapu Koko or Mega Charizard Y can be used. Neither of these pokemon beat Aggron.
  • Since Mega Tyranitar can be used against most Fire-type Pokemon, Pokemon which are weak to Fire-type like Magearna, and Jirachi can be used as teammates.

  • Another option is a Rockium Z Tyranitar, because it is able to kill bulky Mega Charizard X and bulky Kyurem-B, while being able to tank their attacks comfortably. So Regular Tyranitar is VERY different from Mega TTar. Unless you want to make this analysis about both, I'd remove this mention.
  • Another replacement for Superpower is Low Kick, which helps against match-ups like Mega Gyarados, and which can also be used without having to worry about the stat drops which happen in the case of Superpower. But, while Superpower has a standard 120 Power, Low Kick has variable power which makes it unusable against light Pokemon like Porygon-Z.
Checks And Counters:
  • Fighting-type Pokemon: Fighting-type Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Heracross counters Mega Tyranitar because Fighting is doubly super-effective against Mega Tyranitar.
  • Water-type Pokemon: While Mega Tyranitar is able to check Mega Gyarados, many other commonly used Water-type Pokemon like Primarina or Tapu Fini are able to KO Mega Tyranitar without being KOed by it because of their good defences and its super-effectiveness against it.
  • Steel-type Pokemon: Steel-type Pokemon like Mega Mawile and Mega Metagross are able to KO Mega Tyranitar because of their strong STAB moves and because of its 2X weakness to them.
  • Stall Pokemon: Mega Tyranitar is vulnerable to Physically defensive stall Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Mega Sableye, Mega Aggron and Pyukumuku, which are capable of KOing Mega Tyranitar with their moves

QC 2/3 Fix up the stuff in bold.
Incorporated many changes based on your QC.
  • Mention it being able to break certain stall-type pokemon such as Mega Venusaur because of taunt here because that's different than just attacking.
It is not able to beat MVenu because Giga Drain from usually used sets 3HKOs or 4HKOs, and the off chance it 4HKOs, it is able to recover some HP, so taunt does not render MVenu incapable of defeating MTyra
I think you mean to say that Tyranitar isn't able to KO these Stall pokemon. But again this weird because taunt allows you to beat at least MVenu and Pyuk
Edited the first part, it's not weird because MVenu has Giga Drain and Pyukumuku gets counter, both of which can KO Mega Tyranitar....

OVERVIEW:

  • Mega Tyranitar is a slow, bulky offense-based Pokemon, which is capable of tanking powerful super effective moves from Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Kyurem-B, Tapu Lele, and KO them back.
  • It has 164 Base Attack stat, some of the best available for the 1v1 metagame, with access to strong STAB moves in Stone Edge and Crunch, coverage moves like Iron Head, Fire Punch, Superpower, and Earthquake, and utility moves like Dragon Dance and Taunt, which allows it to take on a large number of Pokemon in the 1v1 metagame and defeat them.
Is Sand Stream so great compared to great abilities like Intimidate, Adaptability, Unaware, and Levitate. It really only helps against Charizard Y. I think it would like to have two abilities usually rather than the same one twice.
  • Its typing is also an advantage giving it key resistances to Fire-, Normal-, and Ghost-types like Mega Charzards, Porygon-Z and Mega Gengar, and giving it an immunity against Psychic-types like Latios.
  • However, it is weak to Fighting-, Ground-, Steel-, and Water-type Pokemon like Landorus-T, Garchomp, Sawk, Mega Lopunny, Mega Blaziken,Mega Metagross, Mega Mawile, Primarina and Tapu Fini. It is also unable to defeat Physically bulky Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Mega Slowbro, Pyukumuku, and Mega Aggron. Maybe put this another way, like saying Rock is a weak defensive typing and it has difficulty getting around stall because it has to give up arguably more valuable coverage in order to do so. Its Speed is a weakness worth mentioning I think. You mention every other stat.

I think Rock Tomb is the standard.
  • Either Low Kick or Superpower can be alternatively used according to the Pokemon needed to be killed. Superpower as well as Low Kick takes care of some Normal-type and Dark-type Pokemon like Porygon-Z, Mega Gyarados and Mega Tyranitar itself. Superpower provides a constant base power, but lowers the Defence stat, while Low Kick varies in Base Power, but doesn't compromise on Defence stat which is necessary for some match-ups like Mega Gyarados Kyurem-Black, also. Low Kick is best for that. I think Low Kick should just be that standard.
Timid Greninja.
This list is too long.
  • Mega Tyranitar can also be used against some special attackers like Magnezone and Greninja because Mega Tyranitar is able to tank a Corkscrew Crash from Magnezone, as well as a Protean ChoiceSpecs Hydro Cannon from Greninja. Against Magnezone, it should use Rock Tomb followed by Earthquake to finish it. On Greninja, start with Fire Punch because some Greninja also carry Grass Knot which it also tanks. If it was Grass Knot, Fire Punch KOs, but Greninja uses Hydro Cannon , Fire Punch followed by Rock Tomb and 2 turn Sandstorm damage KOs Greninja
  • While using against Mega Gyarados, start with Low Kick because most Gyarados users Mega evolve turn 1. After that, if Gyarados hasn't Mega evolved, follow up with the Rock-type STAB you have, and if he has Mega evolved, use Low Kick again. Since Mega Gyarados would have taken Sandstorm damage for the two turns, this usually KO's Mega Gyarados.
  • Try to avoid sending Mega Tyranitar against Tapu Lele because Tapu Lele usually uses Z-Reflect turn 1 and 3HKOs with Moonblast while Mega Tyranitar cannot 3HKO Tapu Lele through Reflect even with Sandstorm damage.
  • Also, don't bring it against Bulky Water-type Pokemon like Primarina, Tapu Fini and Mega Blastoise because these Pokemon are bulky enough to tank a couple of attacks even after Sandstorm damage.
Is Sand Stream so great compared to great abilities like Intimidate, Adaptability, Unaware, and Levitate. It really only helps against Charizard Y. I think it would like to have two abilities usually rather than the same one twice.
For a Pokemon like Mega Tyranitar, with so many defensive weakness to common offense types in the 1v1 metagame which are special attack-based, Sand Stream ability is a very handy one. It doesn't really only help against MCharY, but Genesect, ZFlashCannon Magnezone, Timid Specs Greninja Hydro Cannon, and many others I've quoted as examples. So, I'd like to say, YES, Sand Stream is a great ability compared to Intimidate, and Unaware. Adaptability and Sand Stream might be on the same level, but since TyraM is slow and weak to Water-, and Steel- type Pokemon, without Sand Stream, it is unable to tank usual Special Attacking Threats. Adaptability would be much useful if TyraM was faster. But I agree it would be better to have two abilities, and that's why Tyranitar has Unnerve which helps against FEAR mons

Timid Greninja
This list is too long

Usage Tips:
Since Mega Tyranitar is a Rock- and Dark-type Pokemon, it is advisable to send it against Bug-, Fire-, Flying-, Ghost-, Ice-, and Psychic-types Pokemon like Mega Pinsir, Genesect, Mega Charizard (which one?), Heatran, Dragonite, Mega Gengar, Aegislash, Kyurem-B, and Meloetta.
Mega Tyranitar can also be used against some special attackers like Magnezone and Greninja because Mega Tyranitar is able to tank a Corkscrew Crash from Magnezone as well as a Protean (is protean really relevant here because bb isn't a thing + even if it was torrent it gets stab) Choice Specs Hydro Cannon from Greninja. Try to avoiding bringing it against Fighting- and Ground-type Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Mega Blaziken, Mega Heracross, Landorus-T and Garchomp, since this Mega Tyranitar has nothing in its moveset to KO both these types, and also because it also gets defeated easily. Try to avoid sending Mega Tyranitar against Tapu Lele because Tapu Lele it usually uses Z-Reflect turn 1 on the first turn and 3HKOes Mega Tyranitar with Moonblast while Mega Tyranitar cannot 3HKO Tapu Lele in return through Reflect even with Sandstorm damage. Also, don't bring it against bulky Water-type Pokemon like Primarina, Tapu Fini, (AC) and Mega Blastoise because these Pokemon are bulky enough to tank a couple of attacks from Mega Tyranitar even after Sandstorm damage, and can KO back with their own attacks.
Team Options:
Since Mega Tyranitar is weak to Ground-type attacks from Pokemon like Garchomp and Landorus-T, (RC) and Pokemon with Sturdy like Donphan and Golem, bulky Pokemon like Mega Heracross or fast Pokemon like Kyurem-B can be used to counter said threats. In this context, fast Mega Heracross can be used as well. These Pokemon can take advantage of Mega Tyranitar's ability being able to KO its commonly used counters like Tapu Koko and bulky Mega Charizard Y. Since Fighting-type Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham, Mega Blaziken, (AC) and Mega Heracross can KO Mega Tyranitar easily, Fairy-type checks Pokemon like Magearna and Primarina can be used. Here, bulky Primarina finds better usage because it can additionally be used to KO Sturdy users Pokemon and in turn, lure Magnezone for Mega Tyranitar to defeat. Since Mega Tyranitar is vulnerable to stall Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Mega Sableye, Mega Aggron, (AC) and Pyukumuku, stallbreakers like Tapu Koko, Mega Charizard Y, (AC) and or Mega Gardevoir can be used. Since Mega Tyranitar is weak to bulky Water- and Grass-type Pokemon like Primarina, Mega Swampert, (AC) and Tapu Fini, bulky Grass-type Pokemon like Mega Venusaur or and Ferrothorn can be used.
SET 2 [ Anti-Mimikyu ]:

Tyranitar-Mega @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Atk / 72 Def / 144 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Taunt / Dragon Dance
- Iron Head
- Rock Tomb
- Earthquake

SET COMMENTS:
Moves:

Either Taunt or Dragon Dance can be used on this set. While Taunt helps in shutting down stall Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Dragon Dance can be used to set up against Pokemon like Dragonite while Sand Stream breaks reduces the HP from Multiscale or similar ability's effect, (RC) (it's the only one unless you count shadow shield) with subsequent attacks from Mega Tyranitar defeating them. Iron Head can be used to have a better chance against Fairy-types Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Mimikyu. Iron Head also has a chance of flinching, which could help it win against match-ups like Golem where it can flinch turn 1 cause Golem to flinch on the first turn and follow up with Earthquake to KO Golem. Rock Tomb is used to KO Ice-type and Fire-type Pokemon like Kyurem-B and Mega Charizard (which?). It can also be used to reduce the Speed stat of faster Pokemon like Mimikyu. Earthquake is here to have better coverage against allows Mega Tyranitar to hit Steel-type Pokemon like Magearna, (RC) and as well as Electric-types such as Tapu Koko. (bit of a content change here, but saying that it hits steels like mag and koko makes it look like koko is one)

Set Details:
The 248 HP/ 72 Defense
252 HP and 72 Defense EVs help helps it tank a couple of Outrages from Kyurem-B, (RC) and a Let's Snuggle Forever from Adamant 252 Atk maximum Attack Mimikyu. The 144 EVs in Speed is are invested to outspeed maximum speed Mimikyu (adamant or jolly?) after a Rock Tomb drop, because it is needed against Curse Mimikyu. (why?) The remaining 44 Attack EVs coupled with an Adamant nature increases the attack to an extent which allows Mega Tyranitar to KO its intended targets like Kyurem-B, Mega Charizards X and Y, and most importantly, Mimikyu. The Special Defense boost due to Sand Stream helps Mega Tyranitar in tanking a Timid Choice Specs Hydro Cannon from Greninja.

Usage Tips:
Since Mega Tyranitar is a Rock- and Dark-type Pokemon, it is advisable to send it against Bug-, Fire-, Flying-, Ghost-, Ice-, and Psychic-type Pokemon like Genesect, Mega Charizard, Dragonite, Mimikyu, Aegislash, Kyurem-B, and Meloetta. Mega Tyranitar can also be used against some special attackers like Magnezone and Greninja because Mega Tyranitar is able to tank a Corkscrew Crash from Magnezone, (RC) as well as a Protean Timid Choice Specs Hydro Cannon from Timid Greninja. Try to avoiding bringing it against Fighting-, Water-, and Ground-type Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Mega Lopunny, Mega Heracross, Landorus-T and Garchomp, since this Mega Tyranitar has nothing in its moveset to KO both the types, (RC) and also because it gets defeated easily by these two types and is also defeated easily by them. Also, don't bring it against bulky Water-type Pokemon like Primarina, Tapu Fini, (AC) and Mega Blastoise because these Pokemon are bulky enough to tank a couple of attacks from Mega Tyranitar even after Sandstorm damage, (RC) and can KO back with their own attacks.

Team Options:
Since Mega Tyranitar is weak to Ground-type moves from Pokemon like Garchomp and Landorus-T, (RC) and Pokemon with Sturdy like Donphan and Golem, bulky Pokemon like Mega Heracross or fast Pokemon like Kyurem-B can be used to counter these threats. In this context, fast Mega Heracross can be used as well. These Pokemon can take advantage of Mega Tyranitar's ability being able to KO its commonly used counters like Tapu Koko and bulky Mega Charizard Y. Since Fighting-type Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham, Mega Blaziken, (AC) and Mega Heracross can KO Mega Tyranitar easily, Fairy-types Pokemon like Magearna and Primarina can be used. Here, bulky Primarina finds better usage because it can additionally be used to KO Sturdy users Pokemon, (RC) and, (AC) in turn, lure Magnezone for Mega Tyranitar to KO. Since Mega Tyranitar is weak to Water-, Grass-, and Fairy-type attacks from Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Mega Vensaur, (AC) and Tapu Fini, Mega Venusaur can be used to counter these weaknesses. Mega Tyranitar can also be cover Mega Venusaur's Flying- and Psychic-type weaknesses except Tapu Lele. Since Mega Tyranitar is not able to KO to physically defensive stall Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Mega Sableye, Mega Aggron, (AC) and Pyukumuku, which are capable of KOing Mega Tyranitar with their moves, stallbreakers like Tapu Koko, Mega Charizard Y, or and Mega Gardevoir can be used. Since Mega Tyranitar can be used against most Fire-type Pokemon, Pokemon which that are weak to Fire-type like Magearna, (RC) and Jirachi can be used as teammates.

STRATEGY COMMENTS:
Other Options:

A fully defensive set with Counter and/or Foul Play can be used against Pokemon like Garchomp and Mega Gyarados, but this can be countered by set-up setup from the mentioned Pokemon. As a lowkey soft check to Ground-type Pokemon, Avalanche with enough defencive defensive investment to survive STAB moves a STAB Earthquake from Landorus-T can be used, but again this is susceptible to setting up and KOing setup, which cant can't be countered using Mega Tyranitar.

Checks And Counters:
  • Fighting-types Pokemon: Fighting-type Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Heracross counters Mega Tyranitar because Fighting is doubly super-effective against Mega Tyranitar is 4x weak to Fighting.
  • Grass-types Pokemon: Most Grass-type Pokemon are either bulky enough to tank Mega Tyranitar's attacks, like Mega Venusaur, while some others are faster than Mega Tyranitar, like Kartana. So, Mega Tyranitar is countered by Grass-type as well, owing also to the fact that Grass-type is super effective against Mega Tyranitar. (fluffy + redundant)
  • Water-types Pokemon: While Mega Tyranitar is able to check Mega Gyarados, many other commonly used Water-type Pokemon like Primarina or and Tapu Fini are able to KO Mega Tyranitar without being KOed by it because of their good defenses and its super-effectiveness against it.
  • Steel-types Pokemon: Steel-type Pokemon like Mega Mawile and Mega Metagross are able to KO Mega Tyranitar because of with their strong STAB moves and because of its 2X weakness to them.
  • Stall Pokemon: Mega Tyranitar is vulnerable to physically defensive stall Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Mega Sableye, Mega Aggron, (AC) and Pyukumuku, which are able to survive Tyranitar’s attacks and PP stall or defeat it with Leech Seed or Toxic.

use this method to implement.

1/1
OVERVIEW:

Mega Tyranitar is a slow, bulky offense-based Pokemon, which is capable of tanking powerful super effective moves from Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Kyurem-B, and Tapu Lele, (RC) and KOing them back. It has a 164 Base Attack stat, (space) one some of the best available for the 1v1 metagame, with access to strong STAB moves in Stone Edge and Crunch, coverage moves like Iron Head, Fire Punch, Superpower, and Earthquake, and utility moves like Dragon Dance and Taunt, which allows it to take on a large number of Pokemon in the 1v1 metagame (such as?) and defeat them. It has defensive stats of 100 HP / 150 Defense / 120 Special Defence good 100 / 150 / 120 bulk, with a fantastic ability in Sand Stream, which raises the Special Defence of Rock-type Pokemon raising Mega Tyranitar's Special Defense. With appropriate investment, this lets Mega Tyranitar tank up (space) to 2 Outrages from Kyurem-B, a +1 Waterfall from Mega Gyarados, a Gigavolt Havoc from Tapu Koko, a couple of Moonblast from Tapu Lele, Special Attack Download-boosted downloaded Choice Specs Bug Buzz from Genesect, and Choice Specs Hydro Cannon from Greninja, to name a few. Its typing is also an advantage giving also gives it key resistances to Fire-, Normal-, and Ghost-types like Mega Charzard X and Y s, Porygon-Z, (AC) and Mega Gengar, (RC) and giving gives it an immunity against Psychic-types to Psychic-type moves from Pokemon like Latios. However, Rock is a weak defensive typing, (AC) and it Mega Tyranitar has difficulty getting around stall because it has to give up arguably more valuable coverage in order to do so. Mega Tyranitar is also a slow Pokemon, and this presents major drawbacks in its usage.

SET 1 [ All-out Offense ]:
Tyranitar-Mega @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 76 Atk / 84 Def / 100 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Rock Tomb / Stone Edge
- Crunch / Fire Punch
- Earthquake / Iron Head
- Superpower (space) / Low Kick

SET COMMENTS:
Moves:

Either Rock Tomb or Stone Edge can be used in this set as STAB moves. While Stone Edge hits harder and KOes opponents foes like Kyurem-B and bulky Mega Charizard X, Rock Tomb slows down faster opponents foes like Dragonite, (RC) and Magnezone, (AC) allowing Mega Tyranitar and to KO them in the consecutive turns. Also, Rock Tomb is more reliable because of higher accuracy, though Stone Edge has a higher critical hit ratio. Crunch or Fire Punch can be alternatively used. (makes it seem like you're still talking about the first slot) Crunch can be used for STAB as a STAB move to defeat Psychic- and Ghost-type Pokemon like Meloetta and Mega Gengar, while Fire Punch can be used to hit Steel-type Pokemon like Genesect, Ferrothorn, (AC) and Celesteela. (period) Earthquake is in this set to KO Electric-type and some Steel-types Pokemon like Tapu Koko, Magnezone, (AC) and Heatran. Iron Head gives it a better match up against Fairy-type Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Mega Diancie. Iron Head, (AC) and it also has a chance of flinching foes, which could help it win against match-ups like Golem where it can flinch turn 1 and follow up with Superpower to KO Golem Mega Tyranitar can cause Golem to flinch on the first turn and proceed to KO Golem with Superpower. Either Low Kick or Superpower can be alternatively used according to the Pokemon needed to be killed KOed by Mega Tyranitar. Superpower as well as Low Kick takes The aforementioned moves take care of some Normal-type and Dark-type Pokemon like Porygon-Z, Mega Gyarados, (AC) and opposing Mega Tyranitar itself. Superpower provides a constant consistent Base Power, (RC) but lowers the Defence stat Mega Tyranitar's Defense, while Low Kick varies in Base Power, but doesn't compromise on Defence stat which is necessary for some match-ups like Mega Gyarados

Set Details:
The 248 HP/ 84 Defence 248 HP and 64 Defense EVs allows Mega Tyranitar to investment helps it tank a couple of Outrages from Kyurem-B, and a +1 Waterfall from Adamant 252 Atk maximum Attack Mega Gyarados. The 248 HP/ 100 Special Defence EVs investment with Sand Stream as the ability helps it in tanking a Special Attack Download-boosted Choice Specs Bug Buzz from Genesect, (RC) and a Choice Specs Protean-boosted Hydro Cannon from Greninja. The remaining 76 EVs are put into Attack which, when coupled with an Adamant nature, help in KOing Pokemonn like Kyurem-B, Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizards X and Y, Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Magnezone, Genesect, and Greninja.
