Ok listen up... Specs Blizzard under Hail and Trick Room. For real though, would Frosmoth be a decent option for Trick Room if you are running Slowking as the setter? It's a decent Ground resist who get a boost with Snow, with access to a very strong Blizzard and also sets up Aurora Veil for you...

Watch any high rank game with Corviknight and it happens all the time. U-turn into Garchomp or Ting-Lu, click Spikes as Gholdengo is forced to switched out. Repeat once or twice and you are already ahead on hazards against the spike stacking team. Gholdengo is coming in at most twice before it...

So Gholdengo is the only spinblocker that loses to the 2 best spinners in the tier and that's a strain on teambuilding? Gholdengo doesn't even always beat Corviknight because everything it does is telegraphed. U-turn out a few times on it and you can just Defog once your own hazards wear it down...

    Metagame SV OU Metagame Discussion

There are only 4 Ghost types in OU, and you listed half of them in the "except" category, which doesn't really say anything about Gholdengo's "so much better" spinblocking ability. Gholdengo is literally weak to the 2 best spinners and has to carry balloon AND them not carrying Knock Off to stop...

If Spikes is the problem, suspect Spikes, if it's not a problem, then neither is Gholdengo. The low amount of defoggers relative to the high amount of Spike users is 100% the problem here, not Gholdengo. Corviknight is literally the only thing that Gholdengo stops that other Ghosts don't. Ban...

Metagame Terastallization Tiering Discussion [ UPDATE POST #1293]

If I'm Steel RM, I will never choose to Iron Head a Breloom because I'm never going to assume Breloom's Tera typing is Rock in the first place. If their only check to Steel RM is Breloom, then I'm more than satisfied to lose my Booster Energy to keep my RM alive 100% of the time. If I'm Flying...

Metagame Terastallization Tiering Discussion [ UPDATE POST #1293]

There are 8 options for you, but only 2 options for them because they are aware of their own Tera type. If they are Flying, they Acro you. If they are Steel, they switch out. If you Tera Rock, you win 50% of the time, and the other 50% of the time you just made a Tera Rock Breloom, grats. If...

Metagame Terastallization Tiering Discussion [ UPDATE POST #1293]

The irony in pro-Tera citing gen 8 stall wars as boring is that in the long term, keeping Tera around is what will actually kill HO and put stall on top of the leaderboard once offensive Tera abusers inevitably get suspect banned and stall starts optimizing around it. All the examples for...

Really late to the new gen party, but I've been abusing resist berries with Terastalisation to double down on picking up surprise KOs with several mons, especially Roaring Moon. Booster Energy on DD sets is common enough that many players just assume you are choiced if they don't see the...

Triple Water Stall I initially built the team with VinCune as the centerpiece, removing whatever could potentially get in its sweep. Quagsire and Azumarill were originally inserted as ways to eat Electric and Grass attacks for VinCune respectively, but even without VinCune, those 2 are just...

Project OU Next Best Thing: Cycle 87 - Not hosted anymore

Personally when I use Scizor on a team, it's usually for dealing with things like Alakazam and Gengar, which only the sets with a boosting item can do reliably. Gonna vote for Bulky CB because it feels like it meet its intended purpose rather than just being a surprise factor.

Announcement np: SS OU Suspect Process, Round 4 - Fish Out of Water

Dracovish is literally anything but prediction reliant. Unless the opponent has Seismitoad, you just press Fishous Rend on anything, and something is dying. And even if they do have Seismitoad, you can press Fishous Rend anyway. At worst you are just facing a Seismitoad who you can easily switch...

    CAP 25 - Part 10 - CAP 25f Name Submissions--OPEN FOR FINAL SUBMISSIONS

Minor nitpick. Doesn’t everyone call Mount Fuji Fujisan rather than Fuji Yama?

    CAP 25 - Part 7 - Competitive Ability Discussion

Seen a lot of discussion about No Guard for 25g, but what about No Guard for 25f instead? Fire and Ground both have a number of strong moves with imperfect accuracy, which already makes No Guard an attractive pick. It allows us to get raw power without just being a simple damage boosting ability...

Why does Zapdos run 248 HP instead of 252? Is losing 1 less HP to SR really more important than getting 1 more point of lefties recovery per turn?

CAP 24 CAP 24 - Part 4 - Primary and Secondary Ability Discussion

I feel like Sun being weak as it is, CAP 24 should do more than just being enabled by it, but also give something to it in return. Chlorophyll feels like an ability that just takes a lot from Sun and just offers a lot of overlap with what Sun already does fine. Drought just feels like a stronger...

    CAP 24 CAP 24 - Part 1 - Concept Assessment

On the contrary, I think it's possible that CAP24 could and should abuse rain just so that rain, being dominant as it is, does not completely dump on CAP24-based teams. I think that CAP24 perhaps should be strong against rain teams in rain, but stronger against non-rain teams in another weather...

Only because you asked for more xd Latias @ Latiasite Ability: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Psyshock / Ice Beam - Thunderbolt - Roost - Roar Roar is a pretty nice tech to allow Latias to dodge unfavorable matchups and rack up passive damage. Also, allows you to escape...
