And earlier I said I was in favor of a ban on having more than one swagger+prankster+foul play user.

If he had just switch out on the darkrai he would have won. So it's actually not that impressive. That's just some really bad playing. I'm sure if you took the time you could find people 6-0 ubers with just as ridiculous things. Shuckle comes to mind. Edit: And let's not forget FEAR rattata.

That ubers player is terrible. I've beaten people in ubers with my UU/RU teams. So I'm not really sure that's saying much...

Never mentioned Numel. Only mentioned Xatu because it's actually quite effective, I wasn't aware it wasn't consider OU viable anymore. Since I've been running Xatu for a while with no issues. Guess I need to stay better informed.

    252+ SpA Xatu Heat Wave vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Klefki: 206-244 (64.7 - 76.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery 4 Atk Klefki Foul Play vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Xatu: 108-128 (32.3 - 38.3%) -- 2.5% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery Seems pretty good to me. Lol

Confusion aside, how is swagplay luck? It's a valid strategy. Boost attack stat, then use foul play. Especially on things like umbreon who other wise wouldn't have much of anything. I can still use Foul Play with out swagger, the stat boost is just nice. Switch into someone DD/SDing and it's the...

To be honest I don't think most people are using it for the confusion, more so the stat boost. At least that's why I use it. I mean even if we ban swagger, I can still just switch into someone who's DD'd or SD's their stats.

I use it on a Foul Play/Swagger Umbreon. So it's used outside of just prankster pokemon.

I did read. Problem being that Magic Coat isn't a niche move. It's completely competitively viable. You can use it against: Toxic stallers, will-o-wisp, T-wave, Swagger, entry hazzards, taunt, ect. Everyone uses defog to rid hazards. Why is that any more niche than this?

It's the only real compromise I can see all of us coming to while still getting rid of most people's concerns. They won't have to fight a team of 6 prankster users, and the prankster/swagger users still get to keep their strategy.

Almost any. There are countless pokemon who do learn it from 5th gen and below. Personally this is my options: Either no ban, or meet in the middle. Only one Swagger + Prankster user per team. If a ban MUST happen. I'd vote for Swagger + Prankster.

I will say you forgot magic coat which everyone seems to be ignoring. Latios/Latias, Togekiss, Jirachi, ect. Can all learn it. In fact a good majority of pokemon can. It has uses outside of this, and while it takes up a move slot it's not any worse than any other clerical move. In fact it...

Why doesn't everyone meet in the middle? Maybe a new ban on having more than one swagger/prankster/foul play user on a team.

Magic coat isn't a bad idea in general with all the will-o-wisp, toxic stallers, spore, T-wave ect, entry hazzards, Taunt, ect . So it's not just a counter to Swagger+Prankster. I agree a bit with the own tempo. But really Lum+Magic Bounce+Magic coat are all useful.

SwagPlay, evaluating potential bans (basic definition of "uncompetitive" in OP)

Again though I do have to bring up there isn't only one counter for this. Like I've said before Magic Coat is a really easy way that most pokemon can counter this. Lum berry is another. Magic bounce is another. Own tempo is another. It's not like with spore last gen, there a quite a few more...

Except this is a valid strategy, and not a bad idea to be carry a lum berry, something that can cure or bounce back status, or use mirror coat. To be honest I feel like people here are really afraid of trying new things. I've never had a problem with prankster users and swagger. If anything I...

Switch out after the magic bounce. Then opponents pokemon is now confused, they are either forced to switch out, or deal with their own pokemon hurting it's self in confusion. Again no one is really thinking about mirror coat? Or carrying a lum berry?

Switch out after. Their pokemon is now confused and they're either forced to switch out or try it again while being confused. You're not even including the possible magic coat users. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Magic_Coat_(move)

I was talking about magic bouncing the swagger/T-wave then switching out. That's normally what I do. I do the same thing with spore smeargles. Then just switch into something that can handle a foul play. Edit: Also you're forgetting a ton of pokemon can learn magic coat through tutors.
