I heard the same too but I checked them out. Honestly I would say they are worth at least one watch since it's such a low investment. they really are very hit or miss but I'll say the one thing is that at least Haruko stays consistently quirky and funny which is the main thing to get right

the fact that there are going to be 2 more seasons though is just yuck. FLCL should never become a "franchise" I think. part of the reason I hated the last episode of Alternative was because it invited theories about "what really happened" and what will happen in the future, which really isn't what the series ever was or should be about.
