and if I do end up getting a short scale is it hard to go back to playing full-scale? since I plan to still use the Fender too

I have no preference really. Your hands will adapt to whatever you get eventually, but if you're worried about weird angles and cramps etc just get whatever feels better.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards the short-scale now. And when I feel like full scale I'll still have the Fender
