It lacks substance and eventually becomes disruptive.

how is it disruptive? I haven't hurt or offended anyone directly and its just for fun. I will stop if given a good reason but no offence, you have not given me one. User amg does the exact same thing in the OU forums and no one has called him out on it. It doesn't discourage posting and if anything encourages people to sign up. I see no problem at all really :/

it's not about hurting or offending anyone, it's annoying to get pointless notifications and I don't feel like I should turn them off because one dude can't control himself.

i mean if you dont want a like all you had to do was ask. Considering you had 4 other likes on your signup post before i liked it i dont really understand what the complaint is here.
