Offline Loading
You could try changing Java's network settings so it connects directly to the net and not through your schools proxy/filter server. Go to Control Panel > Java > Network Settings and select the Direct Connection option. (if its currently set somewhere else) more info- timw06

Server creation Problem
What IP address are your computers connecting on? Does it start with 192.168 or 10.0? If it does then that it is your local IP and you need your WAN IP...- timw06
