  1. Resource Ask a simple question get a simple answer: RU edition

To add to this, most of the big-time walls in the tier (M-Steelix, Alomomola, etc.) are physically based, meaning Hydro Pump>Waterfall, Dark Pulse>Crunch more often than not. Of course there may be specific things you want to hit harder, but usually these are preferred. I also have a question...
  2. ORAS NU Short-Circuit Evaluation

I'll try the suggestions you made. I'd agree they're all good, but I might try something else over Knock Off or Healing Wish…gonna have to play with that a bit. Thanks for the tips! :) Also, I peaked at around 1300 and am sitting at 1250 ladder-wise.
  3. ORAS NU My First RMT

Hi there. This is a good effort for team building. In particular, you have a pretty solid defensive core. Some things I'll point out though. First of all, Torterra's EV spread is inefficient, and you should probably go for 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Def rather than what you have. Also run Overgrow over...
  4. ORAS NU Short-Circuit Evaluation

Hi all, welcome to my newest RMT, called Short-Circuit Evaluation. erisia gave me the idea for this team at http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/np-nu-stage-12-nevergreen.3567055/page-3. It is based around using Manectric and Electivire as the crux of an offensive core to cover a wide spectrum...
  5. boxofsprites: because we need more sprite threads

Hi, could I request a Trainer Sprite with http://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/trainers-ordered/010.png avatar and a Torterra sprite? I'd love it for Pokemon Showdown :)
  6. Metagame np: NU Stage 12 - Nevergreen

Inspired by this post, I've been trying this myself. Manectric @ Expert Belt Ability: Lightningrod EVs: 4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe Nature: Timid -Thunderbolt -Volt Switch -Overheat -Hidden Power Water/Signal Beam Electivire @ Life Orb Ability: Motor Drive EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe Nature...
  7. Creative and Underrated Movesets in UU

I actually never realized Mienshao even got Swords Dance…probably because it seems so dangerous. I should add that to take advantage of a set like this, you should probably use Swords Dance on predicted switches…this seems like a very high skill-cap set to use, especially without running U-turn...
  8. np: ORAS UU Stage 6 - Slow Hands

Has anyone tried this set on Toxicroak to deal with Umbreon, Aromatisse, Blissey, Blastoise, Empoleon, CroCune, and so on… Toxicroak (M) @ Assault Vest Ability: Dry Skin EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 SpD Nature: Adamant -Drain Punch -Gunk Shot -Knock Off/Ice Punch -Sucker Punch/Ice Punch/Earthquake...
  9. np: ORAS UU Stage 6 - Slow Hands

It's one set on one Pokemon in the tier. Toxic/Knock Off is better 99% of the time. Could try M-Aggron with some Defense investment and Roar (which compromises less than Almomamola does when it must run HP Electric). Also if Gyarados runs EQ or Stone Edge on this set then it forgoes Bounce, in...
  10. UU Simple Questions Thread

Zapdos also gets Charge Beam and so it can pass SpA boosts with Baton Pass. Might be good if your sweeper of choice is Noivern. However if you like Chandelure, Mega-Blastoise, or something slower but with more initial power, Agili-pass is better.
  11. Torterra [QC 1/3]

Might want to remove mentions of Mega-Abomasnow since it's banned now (more or less just replace with regular Abomasnow). Also, Torterra could run Toxic on one of the more defensive sets to catch a Tangrowth switching in.
  12. Creative and Underrated Movesets in UU

Ok that's fair--you want physical attacks to hit Florges, which is very popular in its own right. I wouldn't rely on M-Glalie as your only way to hurt Florges though. Steel-types in general are a good bet.
  13. Creative and Underrated Movesets in UU

This seems very cool, especially since you can run stuff like Krookodile to get rid of Fire/Steel types. However, if you're so close to OHKOs on Forretress and Swampert, why not move some Attack EVs to Special Attack?

My main tip is to not be afraid to try anything. Instead of going with the "natural" counter for some Pokemon you are having trouble with, think of another example that fills some other niche your team may need (i.e. a Rhyperior check and a Rapid Spinner in the same slot)
