Miasmaw's Pokedex entries, for reference:

Miasmaw, the Gas Beetle Pokémon

Sword: Nerves in its false jaw allow it to act independently from the rest of its body. Scientists once believed Miasmaw's abdomen housed a second brain.

Shield: It developed a false set of jaws to deter predators that could withstand its noxious gas. The weight of its abdomen makes it difficult to fly, however.

  • Pokedex Entries cannot be longer than 32 words and cannot be over 156 characters.
  • Pokedex Entries can only contain the following characters:
    • Letters A-Z
    • Numbers 0-9
    • Dash (-)
    • Apostrophe (')

Work In Progress (WIP) Pokedex Entries can be posted at any time for comments from the community.

No more than three WIP Pokedex Entries can be posted by any individual person through the entire course of the submission thread. This limit applies to ALL posts made by a single person, even if previous posts are edited or deleted. This limit is intended to curb the tendency for some submitters to spam the thread repeatedly with multiple Pokedex Entries. This detracts from other submissions and makes it difficult for commenters to survey the submission thread.

Do not bump your WIP Pokedex Entries by posting them repeatedly, or making minor wording changes. Bumping will result in the disqualification of all Pokedex Entries by the offender. Editing or deleting bump posts will not prevent disqualification.

Only ONE Final Submission can be made per person.

Pokedex entries Final Submissions must posted exactly in the following format and in the following exact order:
  • The first line of the post must have the words "Final Submission" in bold on its own line. No other text may be included before the bold heading.
  • A blank line
  • "<Pokémon Name>, the <Species Name> Pokémon", with the Pokemon name and the Species Name in bold
  • A blank line
  • The Sword Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Sword" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
  • A blank line
  • The Shield Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Shield" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
Below the Final Submission you can post other comments, explanations, etc.

Example final submission:

Final Submission

Dragapult
, the Stealth Pokémon

Sword: When it isn't battling, it keeps Dreepy in the holes on its horns. Once a fight starts, it launches the Dreepy like supersonic missiles.

Shield: Apparently the Dreepy inside Dragapult's horns eagerly look forward to being launched out at Mach speeds.
Any Final Submission that does not follow the proper format will be disqualified.

Miasmite
, the Gas Grub Pokémon

Sword: Several Miasmite will often huddle together for protection, giving the group the menacing appearance of a multi-headed dragon.

Shield: Any contact made with the black part of its body causes its abdomen to instantly snap shut. The pain is minimal, but enough to startle predators.

Miasmite
, the Gas Grub Pokémon

Sword:
Miasmite is very weak and vulnerable. It uses the strange gases from its abdomen to disorient predators and flee.

Shield: Through adaptation, its body is shaped like a dragon's skull. This is thought to be a form of mimicry, as these jaws can easily snap bone.

Miasmite
, the Mini Miasma Pokémon

Sword: The gas it emits is quite nauseating. During plagues of old, these fumes were often blamed as the cause of various illnesses.

Shield: Its true mouth lacks bite power, so it uses its false jaw to chew up food before spitting it out for consumption.

--------------------------------------------------

Let me know what you think. Sword entry is based around the 1854 London cholera outbreaks, where miasma/bad air in the city was blamed for the disease until English physician John Snow proved it was the fault of a contaminated water pump. Making the reference G!Weezing was too cowardly to do.

WIP

Miasmite
, the Gas Leak Pokémon

Sword:
Miasmite hunts by releasing a strange gas to incapacitate victims, then clamps shut when it's stepped on. It's not too painful, but hard to pry open again.

Shield: It sprays a thick, noxious fog to hide from predators. Trapinch colonies have been known to build their pits under the cover of Miasmite clouds.

Final Submission

Miasmite,
the Fume Grub Pokémon

Sword: The gas seeping from is tail rises above the treetops of Miasmite's home, making it easy prey for hungry bird Pokémon.

Shield: Miasmite sleeps lying on its back. If disturbed, it'll send itself flying off by flicking its tail, its light body sustaining no damage upon landing.

Miasmite
, the Gas Nymph Pokemon

Sword: Even veteran Trainers have found themselves requiring medical aid in order to rescue their digits from a clamped on Miasmite.

Shield: In sufficient doses, the pheromones released by Miasmite can cause a strong numbing calmness. Some people find this addictive for some reason.

WIP

Miasmite,
the Small Fume Pokémon

Sword: It mimics a dragon’s head in order to ward off predators. However, few are fooled by it because it has trouble clamping its tail down.

Shield: From its abdomen, it constantly spews a noxious gas potent enough to clear an entire mall. Only the most dedicated of Bug enthusiasts are willing to raise this Pokémon.

WIP

Miasmite,
the Gas Trap Pokémon

Sword: Miasmite use the gas they produce to make a misty environment to get foes lost, then its bites its prey with a powerful chomp.

Shield: A component in Miasmite's eyes lets it see through the dense gas it makes, giving it the upper hand in battle.

WIP

Miasmite,
the Gas Grub Pokémon

Sword: Miasmite's tail constantly leaks a powerful hallucinogen. Under its influence, Miasmite resembles the face of a fearsome dragon.

Shield: Its tail clamps down reactively on anything that touches its real head. It holds on tightly until its fumes take full effect in order to pacify the threat.

WIP

Miasmite
, the Gas Grub Pokémon

Sword: Its gas isn't as potent as that of Miasmaw. It relies on its draconic appearance to deter would-be predators.

Shield: It mounds up dirt behind itself before curling up and going to sleep. This gives the illusion of a partly buried dragon Pokémon.

WIP

Miasmite
, the Gas Grub Pokémon

Sword: In ancient times, armies would throw Miasmite towards hiding foes. Its vile gas would quickly flush them out, leaving them vulnerable to attack.

Shield: Despite not being able to eat with it, Miasmite can deliver a bite-like attack with its false head. Due to this, it is an unpopular meal for predators.

WIP 2

Miasmite,
the Gas Grub Pokémon

Sword: Miasmite rolls into a ball when threatened, it's as strong as iron and most Pokémon have a hard time damaging it in this form.

Shield: Miasmite travel in packs so they can help each other when injured, the only time when they separate is when one needs to do some soul searching.

Sword: Extremely shy, it will close its fake jaws at the sight of anything. Due to them resembling a dragon, this often scares away its predators.

Shield: From its fake nostrils comes a strange gas that can knock out anything. However, Miasmite itself finds the gas quite refreshing.
