I think you mean they paralyse the target. I've never been burned by any of these moves.PARALYSIS SIDE EFFECT 1
Moves included: Thunderpunch, Thundershock, Thunderbolt, Thunder
- Can't paralyze a Substitute target
- 0 chance to paralyze a target with a type matching the type of the move. 26/256 chance to burn the target otherwise
- If target is paralyzed, its current Speed stat is quartered immediately
PARALYSIS SIDE EFFECT 2
Moves included: Body Slam, Lick
- Can't paralyze a Substitute target
- 0 chance to paralyze a target with a type matching the type of the move. 77/256 chance to burn the target otherwise
- If target is paralyzed, its current Speed stat is quartered immediately
It can, just checked it. d:6131 (freeze) is called even against Ice Pokémon. For freeze and burn, it does, with only one exception: if the move is normal-type i.e. tri-attack (at this point i'm not sure if tri attack can burn/freeze fire/ice mons).
Copy/paste rip. Fixed.I think you mean they paralyse the target. I've never been burned by any of these moves.
Yeah, check out battle command 0xac, which corresponds to tri attack. Battle command 0x18 will be called for a freeze. Notice how Function36e5b would only prevent ice pokemon from being frozen, excluding the normal type from the check. It can, just checked it. d:6131 (freeze) is called even against Ice Pokémon.
i also remember that a pokemon will never thaw in rain, but that might just be me making up a corollary to the sunny day behaviourWhile we are at it, it seems that freeze can't be inflicted under sunny weather. I personally didn't know that.
It seems not. Only sun/freeze. The weather check only exists for the freeze effect.i also remember that a pokemon will never thaw in rain, but that might just be me making up a corollary to the sunny day behaviour
Yes, and burn fire typesHey, does tri-attack freeze ice-types then?
So the all-important Twinneedle is also unable to poison bug-types in gsc?
Wait, huh? I thought the whole mechanic screwup only applies to burn, freeze, and paralysis (the last for Gen I only). Twinneedle should be able to poison everything that isn't Poison-type in both generations.
Whoops, must have read posion-types. The correct answer for bug-types is no.So the all-important Twinneedle is also unable to poison bug-types in gsc?
Yes
Bug: If a Pokemon that was frozen or put to sleep with either Rage, Charging, Bide, or Thrashing About status active is cured Sleep or Freeze by Haze, that Pokemon will be unable to select and use a move for as long as it stays on the field. This applies to Hyper Beam too but only if the status is freeze.
Out of curiosity, does spd/atk lost from para/burn remains after the mon gets the sleep?
Of course. To keep things clear, there's nothing in the game that "reverts" the par/brn stat drops, unless we are talking about reseting or recalculating the stat(s), which occurs after using Haze or after a stat up/down move that affects the stat in question is used, respectively.Out of curiosity, does spd/atk lost from para/burn remains after the mon gets the sleep?
