Oh geesh, this is kind of a hard one despite its massive move pool.

Archeops @ Flying Gem
Trait: Defeatist
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk
Naive Nature
- Acrobatics
- Stone Edge
- Earth Power
- Endeavor

Yeah, so often when facing Archeops, people just try to knock it down to defeatist range so it is much less of a threat to there team, and even after doing some calcs with Archeops, HP Grass isn't getting around its usual counters of Alomomola, Regirock, Ferroseed (though heat wave could help here) or Poliwrath (after the gem has been used). However, Endeavor actually takes advantage of Archeops being in defeatist range and allows it to wall break even after it has lost most of its HP, allowing something else to come in and beat a wall it usually wouldn't. This also takes advantage of the fact that Archeops is rocks weak, as if you are at 45% health, you can switch into rocks and lower a slower (preferably bulky) mons health by more than you could with any of your other attacks in defeatist range. Yeah, I think endeavor could be a pretty cool option in that ever changing 4th slot for Archeops :).

Archeops@Lum Berry/Leftovers
Trait: Defeatist
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Roost

Archeops' movepool is not so supplied. But its physical base attack and its good speed, could be a good idea for a fast sweeper. Protected by a Substitute and recovery HP with Roost (restricting Defeatist effects), EQ and Outrage can guarantee a decent coverage and good effectiveness damage, with an excellent chance of strike first. Lum Berry is clearly an idea to heal safely.

About Outrage:
252 Atk Archeops Outrage vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Druddigon: 302-356 (84.35 - 99.44%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Archeops Outrage vs. 216 HP / 0- Def Druddigon: 336-396 (96.27 - 113.46%) -- 75% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Archeops Outrage vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Gallade: 195-230 (70.39 - 83.03%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Archeops Outrage vs. 240 HP / 0 Def Gallade: 197-232 (58.45 - 68.84%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Archeops Outrage vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Gallade: 197-232 (58.11 - 68.43%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Archeops Outrage vs. 112 HP / 0 Def Tangrowth: 114-135 (30.89 - 36.58%) -- 68.73% chance to 3HKO
252 Atk Archeops Outrage vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Sceptile: 195-230 (69.39 - 81.85%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Archeops @ Flying Gem
Trait: Defeatist
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk
Naive Nature

- Toxic

Another take on standard Archeops, this one exploits the fact that it draws in physical walls like no other Pokemon. Toxic is hated by any wall and considering things like Alomomola will switch in before you can say hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymistic, getting a Toxic off is easy to do. Meanwhile, Archeops doesn't lose out on coverage, as he can still break shit with Acrobatics while being KO'd by anything that is faster or has priority in return. Earth Power can screw over Steelix, who doesn't give a crap about Toxic.

My turn to have some fun:

Archeops (M) @ Flying Gem
Trait: Defeatist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Stone Edge
- Earth Power
- Heat Wave
- Acrobatics

All-out attacker Archeops can prove to be quite effective. Archeops has amazing offensive stats before Defeatist kicks in, so this set aims to take it to the max. Stone Edge is the reliable STAB move that crushes stuff. Earth Power deals with Qwilfish rather handily while also smashing incoming Rhydon that anticipate a STAB move. Heat Wave is the move that allows Archeops to be so lenient with Acrobatics. With Heat Wave, Archeops can easily beat Ferroseed and Tangrowth without having to rely on catching them with Flying Gem-boosted Acrobatics. It also hits Steelix a little harder and ensures that Escavalier and Durant have no safety in coming in on Archeops. Finally, the move that Archeops is most known for; Acrobatics. With this gem of a move, Archeops is able to get past p. much any bulky Pokemon that takes neutral damage to the move. As mentioned before, the use of Heat Wave allows Archeops to keep this move until it absolutely needs to use it to get past a threat (such as when faced with Uxie or Mesprit)

Lure Archeops

Archeops @ Passho berry
Trait: Defeatist
EVs: 4hp / 100 Atk / 152 SAtk / 252 Spd
Niave Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Taunt / Roost
- Stone Edge
- Earth Power / U-turn
- Hidden Power Grass

When you look at Archeops you see sky high attacks and speed, then the lacking defences and a horrible ability. This set is designed as a lure to kill its usual counters by using the Passho Berry, that weakens super effective water type hits. This is the most optimum ev spread as you need +speed to speed tie with cinccino and 4hp to insure you to not get knocked down to defeatist by kabutops passho aqua jet. Earth power is for steelix but u-turn gives nice momentum and taunt makes it a great for a lead, especially with U-turn, making it a scout whilst roost is good for getting to full health and above defeatist range. These are the counters from the August move set statistics.
Calcs:
252+ Atk Life Orb Kabutops Aqua Jet vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Passho Berry Archeops: 122-146 (41.78 - 50%)
152 SpA Archeops Hidden Power Grass vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Kabutops: 340-404 (129.77 - 154.19%) -- guaranteed OHKO

152 SpA Archeops Hidden Power Grass vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Alomomola: 236-278 (44.19 - 52.05%) -- 78.52% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock
0 Atk Alomomola Waterfall vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Passho Berry Archeops: 97-115 (33.21 - 39.38%) -- 100% chance to 3HKO

100 Atk Archeops Stone Edge vs. 104 HP / 0 Def Feraligatr: 156-184 (46.29 - 54.59%) -- 59.77% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Life Orb Feraligatr Aqua Jet vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Passho Berry Archeops: 114-136 (39.04 - 46.57%)
(gatr does beat archeops but you can taunt him as he swords dances and do about half to him, also he cannot switch in as hp grass does around the same)

Earth power beats steelix (if sturdy is broken), you speed tie with cinccino and ohko after stealth rocks and hp grass okhos omaster.

Archeops (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Defeatist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge / Crunch
- Aerial Ace / Crunch

I'm actually not sure why this is not a set in RU Analysis. This is the only Archeops set I ever use because I just think it's better than flying gem. I think that Archeops is easily revenge killed it has great speed, but it is slower than everything scarfed. If you give it a band it becomes a better revenge killer because U-turn and Earthquake are powered up, and you don't have to fear wasting your flying gem by using Aerial Ace. Aerial Ace + Band is also powerful enough to late game sweep if Archeops' checks are removed. This is something the standard Flying Gem version cannot do. Crunch is also an option over Stone Edge or Aerial Ace. I like using it over Stone Edge to hit all the Psychics in the tier; it also makes Archeops 100% reliable as all of it's moves are 100% accurate. However, it can be used over Aerial Ace as well because Stone Edge /is/ stronger.

Anyways here are some sample calculations... I hate doing these.

Ferroseed (RU Support) Earthquake 30.47 - 35.95%

Alomomola (RU Wish Support) Stone Edge 40.44 - 47.75%

Steelix (RU Defensive) Earthquake 42.93 - 50.84%

Musharna (RU Calm Mind) Stone Edge 47.8 - 56.35%

Uxie (RU TrickScarf) Stone Edge 57.9 - 68.64%

Lanturn (RU Tank) Earthquake 94.26 - 111.22%

Qwilfish (RU Utility) Earthquake 90.41 - 106.58%

Rotom (RU Bulky) Stone Edge 84.26 - 99.65%

Slowking (RU Choice Specs) Stone Edge 81.25 - 95.57%

Archeops (M) @ Rock Gem
Trait: Defeatist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Head Smash
- Acrobatics
- Earth Power
- Roost

Ever thought that Aggron was really weak? Me neither, but regardless, this still puts Aggron to shame, as well as everything else really. A Rock Gem Boosted Head Smash may as well be the last thing you see if you don't have a lot of bulk going for you and resist the move, as it truly hurts. It OHKOs Defensive Slowking, Escavalier, and physically defensive Spiritomb, and uninvested Magneton (after a layer of spikes) while still doing an upwards of 50% to everything EXCEPT Steelix, Ferroseed, Aggron, Torterra, Quagsire, Poliwrath, and Rhydon - according to the Honkalculator everything else viable in RU takes more than this from a single move, which is kind of scary, and even then the last four need to be physically defensive as otherwise they still take a ton of damage.

Acrobatics is standard fare on an itemless Archeops, and Earth Power kills Steelix, Aggron, etc. Roost is there because Archeops is probably in defeatist range after it smashes its head in and it would appreciate this not happening. Also, the nature is naughty because the goal is to hit once very hard mainly, and you may as well go all in.

Manly Calcs
252 Atk Rock Gem Archeops (+Atk) Head Smash vs 252 HP/0 Def Eviolite Gurdurr: 43.32% - 51.34% (2-3 hits to KO)
252 Atk Rock Gem Archeops (+Atk) Head Smash vs 252 HP/0 Def Regirock: 63.46% - 75% (2 hits to KO)
252 Atk Rock Gem Archeops (+Atk) Head Smash vs 252 HP/252 Def Alomomola (+Def) : 66.29% - 78.09% (2 hits to KO)
252 Atk Rock Gem Archeops (+Atk) Head Smash vs 156 HP/0 Def Golurk: 71.51% - 84.36% (2 hits to KO)
252 Atk Rock Gem Archeops (+Atk) Head Smash vs 0 HP/0 Def Magneton: 92.12% - 108.3% (50% chance to OHKO)
252 Atk Rock Gem Archeops (+Atk) Head Smash vs 252 HP/144 Def Slowking: 109.9% - 129.44% (Guaranteed OHKO)

Lead it, you taunt the uxie/qwilfish/smeargle/etc so it can't lay hazards and then uturn for free momentum. Acrobatics and head smash are there for nuking stuff. A fantastic hit and run pkmn. Defeatist head smashes still hurt a lot. Taunt lets it stay useful even while in defeatist since you're still fast.

Hmm, I think the coolest sets (besides mine of course ;)) are Nails and Laurel, but since it is clear Nails is going to win, I will give Laurel's set some love.
