Sketching Moves

How to Sketch basic moves

  1. Find a Smeargle in the wild. They are found on Route 2.
  2. Use False Swipe to lower its HP and force it to Sketch False Swipe.
  3. Initiate an SOS battle by using an Adrenaline Orb if it does not call for help after being at 1 HP from False Swipe.
  4. The turn after the second Smeargle appears, use the attack you want sketched on the 1 HP Smeargle that knows False Swipe.
  5. Switch to your Smeargle. This turn the Smeargle that knows the move you want to Sketch will use it, so even if your Smeargle is faster, Sketch won't fail.
  6. Sketch the enemy Smeargle's move.

How to Sketch Memento

Need:

  • Pyukumuku with Baton Pass / Memento holding Iron Ball.
  • Pokémon with Baton Pass / Substitute.
  • Smeargle with Sketch.
  • Pyukumuku as your lead Pokémon.
  1. Find a Ditto in the wild. They can be found on Mount Hokulani.
  2. Use Baton Pass and switch to your Baton Pass / Substitute Pokémon. Iron Ball will allow your Poké to move second, allowing Ditto to Transform into Pyukumuku with Memento.
  3. Use Substitute. Worst case scenario Ditto uses Memento and it fails, leaving 4 PP.
  4. Use Baton Pass, and switch to Smeargle.
  5. Use items if last move was not Memento; otherwise, Sketch to learn Memento.
