Editor's Note: this was an April Fool's Day joke for 2016. We'll have real coverage once actual information is released.
Generation 7 is upon us. Later this year, we'll be playing the brand new Pokémon Sun and Moon games. We're happy to finally give you guys some long-awaited information!
Roughly about two weeks after the Sun and Moon announcement, Orange Islands moderator Codraroll received a private message in regards to information about the upcoming games. At first he dismissed it as a joke, because of the really poor Japanese (likely done using Google Translate), but something intrigued him. You can see the original message below:
Codraroll, under guidance from Smogon's Flying Press, decided to meet with the user. Surprisingly enough, they didn't live in Japan. In order to guarantee the safety of said user, we have decided not to reveal their location. We had a look into the information, and we can now reveal, with 95% certainty, that the leak is correct. It was decided that the user's account be better off deleted, to minimize the risk of said user being found out before we were able to share this information. We had also advised Codraroll to avoid the forums as long as possible, to avoid any potential backlash. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, Codraroll had to return prematurely.
The user has given us a scanned copy of a brand new Pokémon, set to be revealed in May's CoroCoro. From what we can determine, it is named Fluff in Japanese, although part of the text does appear to be cut off, so we're not sure of its full Japanese name.
The ability Rationalist is what makes this one intriguing. It can be considered a variant of Normalize, not making the Pokémon's own moves Normal type, but instead all moves used against it. The limited information about Mega Delcatty hints that the ability will be "very powerful" in conjunction with a certain move in double battles, possibly more than balancing out Delcatty's subpar stats.
As we all know, there are four new Zygarde formes. We received some new information on these.
Now, looking at these predicted stats, you may be wondering "What's the point of one if the other is identical?"
The answer lies in Zygarde's signature moves, Thousand Arrows and Thousand Waves. Zygarde-Cell only comes with one move, Thousand Arrows, while Zygarde-Core only learns Thousand Waves. These two Pokémon are the key to teaching these moves to Zygarde, as well as unlocking Zygarde-Complete.
Both Zygarde-Cell and Zygarde-Core will appear in-game, in two separate ruins, only accessible after the Elite Four. They won't be standing in a specific spot like most legendaries: instead, they'll be very rare random encounters only found in the last room of the ruins (think Bagon in RSE), and with a catch rate of 3. They will also be at level 1, so make sure you pack a False Swipe user!
Zygarde-10% can be found running around in the wild at level 10. Once you catch it, you can fuse it with either Zygarde-Cell or Zygarde-Core, but only if both Zygarde-10% and whichever cellular Zygarde forme is chosen are at level 50 or above. This will give you Zygarde 50% with whichever signature move the cellular forme you fused carries. If Zygarde-50% or Zygarde-Complete is KOed, it will revert to its 10% forme, and the Zygarde cellular formes that were used prior, back at level 1.
Then, once both Zygarde-50% and the remaining Zygarde cellular forme are at level 100, they can be fused to create Zygarde-Complete, and the signature move Zygarde had will be replaced by the other. But once Zygarde-Complete is created, it will turn against you, and you will have to catch it, need I remind you, at level 100, and with only 5 Pokémon!
And now, brace yourselves as we look at Zygarde-Complete's predicted stats:
Yikes!
It gains the Perfect Aura ability, rendering it immune to Fairy- and Dark-type moves! Talk about a perfect Pokémon!
Sorry, that's all we were able to obtain. Oh, right, except for the fact that we've obtained exclusive information about the starters: they're Grass-type, Fire-type, and Water-type, respectively! Just kidding. Or are we?
The remainder of the information we've shared will be officially revealed over the course of the year. Keep an eye out!
